Ah yes, after SDA published the photo of QE with her two white ponies I was curious about the breed and did some digging to find out what they were. The British Isles have a number of interesting native pony breeds, some of them more well-known like the Connemara or Welsh Cob. Not sure if all Fell ponies are as stocky as hers, with their feathering they look like mini draft horses.
They looked liked mild ponies to me. Oh, wait, they’re not that kind of “fell”, are they? Ah, there was a trap there. And I fell in it!
Queenies Fell ponies were greys. The ones in the video are black. Perhaps they turn grey as they age?
They are a nicely proportioned draft type that moves freely. A duel purpose pony that you can drive or ride.
In our Gang Green future utopia,it will be back to the pit for those short horses..
