I always like to have some comfort food on hand. One of my favourites is Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie. You can buy an 8-pack of them at Costco.

Alternatively, you could actually make your own too!

Your best tips, on any subject, are much appreciated, as always.

    I kind of want to agree with Lawdog’s assessment and think that the explosions were due to Russian operational incompetence. They were messing with turning the pipelines off and on and restricting flows — I think they were farting around and found out, as they kids these days say. The thought that a state would risk military and possible nuclear retaliation for what would clearly be an act of war is not a pleasant thought. But then again, never attribute to incompetence what can be adequately explained by malice.

    4. Another opinion from somewhere I don’t remember is that the reason the lines are fully pressurized is the Russians sent pigs packed with explosives down the line. Where they blew was where the pressure on each side equalized. A pig is a tool sent down pipelines to clear out debris or paraffin or the like.

  2. The really good thing about the MCCPP’s at Costco is that they are just a bit smaller than the ones you find in the retail store freezer section. The regular ones are rather too large for a comfortable meal, while the Costco size is just about perfect.

    And as far as the NS “leaks” are concerned, I doubt that anyone who knows the truth will ever tell.

    1. Another really, really good thing about them is that they come out well in regular ovens and in microwaves. Extraordinarily convenient! Damn. I’m going to Costco tomorrow — the Saskatoon south location, if anyone wants to join me for a hotdog. I’m buying!

        2. 1. The Carcano rifle – the shooter could have bought a rifle anywhere in the US and it would be totally untraceable. Guns bought by mail order were reported to the federal government. It is extremely unlikely that someone intending to commit a crime would buy a mail order gun.
          2. The magic bullet left 7 entry/exit wounds, traveled through bone, and looked like it had been shot though a block of gelatin. Does the expression, “That dog don’t hunt ring a bell?”

          2. For people to say that the Warren Commission and the FBI conducted a superficial investigation is the equivalent of their saying that they haven’t gotten within a hundred miles of the Warren Commission’s twenty-seven volumes.

            In my opinion, the Warren Commission’s investigation has to be considered the most comprehensive investigation of a crime in history.

    1. I just cannot comprehend this. Lesbians aren’t going to watch this, so you’re looking at a film targeted at maybe 4% of the population. Despite their self-professed love for the Gay Best Friend character, AWFLs aren’t going to spend money going to see an entire film about them. The concept would have been fine for a $1-2 million indie film, but a $25 million (x2 at least for marketing budget) mainstream release? Who greenlit this? Does nobody in Hollywood understand basic demographics any more?

      Likely they are out of fuel and “coasting down.” They will not be able to run more than a few more months at reduced power until they refuel. One teensy problem. They did not order any new fuel, do not have a spot in a fuel fabrication facility, and may get new fuel in 2-3 years if they ordered it last month.

      1. Dore completely misunderstood the mathematics of Biden backing away from forgiving $10/20,000 on privately backed loans. The majority of loans (and those on which loan forgiveness will still move forward, barring the success of the legal challenges to the Executive Order) are backed by the federal government. He is however probably correct that this is Biden folding to pressure from private banks holding student loans.

    I used to fly regularly into Minneapolis. 2018-2019. Was the easiest and best way for me to get to Wausua Wis. 2 HR flight & a short ~2 hour drive to my destination.

    Someone in our Quebec Office on my initial voyage Jan 2018, decided that the ‘Best” way to get there, was for me to fly from Calgary to Dallas – then fly back to O’Hare…and then drive 4 hrs North..!! Your typical arrogant thought process for a French speaking Quebec idiot. That ended up being a full 12 hr day there and back to Calgary.

    Its TYPICAL EASTERN Canadian Ignorance & arrogance – I had similar experience back in 2002 with ESAB, where the Toronto office Booked my travel to Florence, South Carolina;

    Calgary to Salt Lake City
    Salt lake to Oklahoma City
    Oklahoma City to Tulsa
    Tulsa to Atlanta
    Atlanta to Florence.
    16 hours of total BS.

    When if the dolt had any brains at all – I could have flown to YYZ (Toronto), then to Rawleigh and driven the rest..6-7 hours max.
