The average Canadian family now spends more of its income on taxes (43.0%) than it does on basic necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing combined (35.7%). By comparison, 33.5% of the average family’s income went to pay taxes in 1961 while 56.5% went to basic necessities.
In 2021, the average Canadian family earned an income of $99,030 and paid total taxes equaling $42,547 (43.0%). In 1961, the average family had an income of $5,000 and paid a total tax bill of $1,675 (33.5%).
We’ve become wards of the communist state, they tax our birth- our entire lives then get more taxes when we die. In return we’ve got a corrupted government run by a Liberal/NDP coalition of tyrants who bought the media’s silence.
They didn’ buy the media Rose – the media was always corrupt and in the bag for the ruling class – its just that with the introduction of the internet, consumers had choices and other more honest points of view available. So media lot their monopoly, but continued to put out the same garbage and as such began to lose bucket of money.
So its not a buyout of the the media – it’s a bailout.

I say that the 1961 taxation was far too high as well. You cannot take a third or more of person’s income and expect them to be happy and prosperous. We are now paying in and around the 50% mark. That is revolution amount.

I’ve asked people to explain why we have a graduated tax system. Why do people who make more pay a higher rate?
They already pay more at the base rate because of their higher income.
The answers are always the same “Well, because they make more money!”
That explains everything in the mind of a selfish and greedy socialist.
“He has more so we should take more!”
No amount of math showing that they already pay more has any chance of trickling through.
No questions about whether they use more resources or services has any chance of being understood.
No discussion of how and why that person has a higher income has any chance.
