  1. Am I mistaken, or is it true that these Tesla brand charging stations will only fit Teslas? I was told that the Tesla charging plugs and receptacles are exclusive to Tesla, ie not universal.

    1. That is correct however, I’ve read that Tesla will make available its charging stations to non-Teslas later in 2022. Take that for what you will, I have no further knowledge or skin in the game.

      1. = “someone else pays” or, even better, “let the next generation pay”.
Sorry kids, but I never voted for any of this.

    2. Link says these are half tesla, half J1772 which is probably the standard for other stupid vehicles like leaf.

  2. Beautiful part of the country but I’m not sure I’d want to be cremated there though. I’ll stick with my old F-150 thank you.

  3. Government doing what it does best — virtue signaling in the most expensive and useless way possible. Whoever made this happen needs to be flipping burgers at Mickey D.

  4. Noticed unused car chargers at Motherwell Homestead National Historic Site. The place is a great place to visit, but well off the beaten path. I’d be surprised if one electric vehicle a season stops there.
I guessed they had been installed at all National Parks at some unknown but astronomical expense.
Probably employees are forbidden to use them.

  5. charging stations at the Motherwell Homestead National Historic Park in Saskatchewan, and cell phone service is almost non existent in that region of the province

  6. What, there’s no Starbucks there either, to serve Frappuccinos to the enlightened millenials?

Shame, shame. BFHitler and Hans Gruber should get right on that!

  7. I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Sheridan, WY Thursday night and they have two Tesla chargers in their lot. In the height of tourist season: no Teslas charging. Electric cars are pretty useless in the American West.

  8. Trudeau’s Canada and not a single written word about the Conservative leadership race happening right now. CBC is covering it. Sheer is predicting a first ballot victory for Polievre but we’ll see. Only Harper did that before.

  9. PP won on the 1st ballot. Maybe there is hope after all. The announcement was greeted with chants of

    Freedom

  10. It would just take a few minutes to determine how much usage they get over a year, the cost to operate, and the cost to install.

Except they’d probably claim it’s confidential

  11. Was driving past Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba at 4 pm on July 4 this year and could not get a camping space because it was after 2 pm. Reason: Not enough resources. They simply said, “Come back in the morning at 8 am, we can’t help you anymore today.”

  12. This is like the wheelchair-accessible bathroom on the -second- floor of the fire hall… which has no elevator. In case they might have a disabled fireman. In a wheelchair. On the second floor.

No lie. Hamilton Central. Yes they did.

Therefore it is not a surprise to see national parks with Tesla charging stations that are beyond Tesla range from the nearest other charging station. I mean, you never know, right? One of them might be towing a charging trailer. Come on, it could happen.

  13. Step 1: Install pink, gender-neutral chargers at all government facilities, using entirely first-nation labor.
Step 2: Require all government vehicles be electric or run on carbon-neutral decomposing conservatives.
Step 2.5: Upgrade fossil fuel co-generation to cover peak, standard and low-load conditions in response to electric grid failure.
    Step 3: Climate Nirvana !
