  1. How did they get on with: How was lethal ammo introduced to a LIVE set and what was the unit “safety officer” doing?

    Among other related technical issues.

    1. Better Questions.
      1. Why didn’t Alec Baldwin verify the gun he was given was clear with empty chambers?
      2. Why didn’t the person that gave him the gun verify the gun was clear with empty chambers?
      3. Did anyone actually maintain physical custody of the firearms, or could anyone on the set “play” with them?

      Finally,
      4. Was it true that Alec Baldwin blew off safety meetings, never performed safety investigations into multiple previous on set negligent discharges, and never attended his own firearms training?

      5. Maybe the non-union crew that quit the set over safety concerns and other issues the day before were right?

      1. RD – exactly. These are real firearms. Every firearm is to be treated as loaded. You don’t point it at anything you don’t want to shoot. This indoctrination was drilled into me from a young age by a Marine expert rifleman in no uncertain terms at a young age. Of course he was apparently not qualified to receive a FAC. Interesting crap you couldn’t make up.

    2. “How was lethal ammo introduced to a LIVE set”
It was simple, a cheap budget film demands diversity hire for a critical safety position…
The guy who pulls the trigger is a brain dead Lib who assumes the world will protect him and everyone around him because he has PC approved good thought…
Stevie Wonder could have seen this coming…
The BIG problem is that our Universities are recruiting and promoting “”Diversity Candidates”
And those Candidates graduate with supposed degrees in engineering all set to be “Diversity Hires” in our world…
      Lord Help us all.

  2. Quite the conundrum-I confess, I despise Baldwin and believe he has been lying. Now we have the FBI, a well documented group of agenda-driven liars telling us Baldwin is guilty. Who to believe? Neither have any credibility.

      1. The FBI has determined that the victim was standing in the wrong place, and thus is fully culpable for her own death.

Mr Baldwin (an ardent Democrat) is innocent of any wrong doing.

Now the FBI agents can get back to monitoring parents.

  3. So they needed 10 months to settle a simple thing like this? In this case if there would be a court case Xiden vs Bycicle, the bycicle will lose and fast. Since rule #1 is POTUS if Dem can do no harm/no mistakes.

  4. From the ABC News report (linked from the NY Post piece):

    Quote:
With the hammer in the quarter- and half-cock positions, the gun “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger,” the report stated.
With the hammer fully cocked, the gun “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger while the working internal components were intact and functional,” the report stated.
    End Quote

So, why the qualification “while the working internal components were intact and functional”? Were they intact and functional?

Maybe someone familiar with the workings of this gun could explain?

    1. Sounds to me like a bit of the usual government/law enforcement standard of using multiple words where one, better adapted, is all that is needed.

Either that, or a slightly veiled admission that they f-ed up the internals while screwing around with it, trying to force it to fire without pulling the trigger.

    2. gareth, while I don’t know the make or model of this firearm, I do know it was a single action revolver. Meaning, there is only one way a safe and proper functioning single action revolver can fire, is that it must be first manually cocked with the thumb, and only then can the hammer be made to release in the single forward action, by pressing the trigger. Baldwin, was holding the revolver, and it must have been fully cocked, and therefore the firearm discharged because he must have touched or pressed the trigger. Someone placed the cartridge or cartridges into the firearm, and I also heard the armorer was young and poorly skilled, but it only matters that Baldwin’s lack of firearms knowledge and poor handling skills, coupled with his arrogance, caused the death on the set. As Buddy posted below, it is still a crime, and Baldwin, who I also detest, should be found guilty of at least negligent manslaughter. As others have said, he’s a card carrying lefty, so we’ll need to wait and see if he get away with this, just like Clinton and the Biden’s, solely because they are part of the big lefty club that the rest of us ain’t in.

      1. Could the bumbling fool have pulled back on the trigger to its firing position, kept it there, then pulled the hammer back to its fully cocked position, and then released it? Would that fire the gun?

Because that sounds like something an ignorant, unlearned fool would do with that pistol, not realizing what it would do? “I didn’t pull the trigger!” (Because I already had the trigger pulled back when I was futzing with the gun.)

  5. I didn’t know that asshole said he didn’t pull the trigger.
    Fckn liar.
If you kill someone by accident, its still a crime.
Put him in Epstein’s jail cell.

    1. He may have been holding the trigger down the whole time while holding the hammer full-cocked with his thumb. Releasing his thumb would fire the gun.

    2. Buddy, “I didn’t know that asshole said he didn’t pull the trigger.”
I did read that and called BS on it. Maybe he didn’t “pull” it deliberately, but if the firearm was in good working order, he’s the one guilty of killing someone. Negligent Manslaughter at least, and yeah he is an asshole!

  6. We know one thing, if it had been Billy Kaputnik from Pumphandle PA who pulled the trigger, he’d have already spent 10 months in jail awaiting trial on murder or manslaughter charges.

  7. I blame Baldwin – his actions were completely wreckless.
    1) failed to verify the gun was safe (no live ammo).
    2) caused the gun to fire

Fauci shares culpability. The armorer, who would normally do the above for Baldwin, was not allowed on the set indoors because of Covid number restrictions.

    1. depends,

if you are a democrat or non-white, you ll get a soft sentence, or no sentence at all. ( Baldwin is a democrat and Trump hater so he is safe )

if you are a conservative, male and white, you may get 30 years in jail

the man who videotaped an altercation from 100 feet away just got sent to jail for 30 years…for videotaping from a 100 feet away something he did not know would end with a shooting or who would be shot.

  8. Baldwin is a democrat and a Trump hater…it is thus no surprise that the FBI are bending over backwards to be gentle on him

  9. He would have been better off to just admit
it and go through that process. Better for all involved.

Too bad. I met the guy and his family and they are nice people regardless of his liberal politics.

It was stupid on top of more stupid that got him to this place.

Probably thought he was untouchable. Same affliction as Will Smith. Same as Anne Heche. Same as Tiger Woods. And on and on with all these dopey celebrities.

  10. When you play make-believe as a career, reality can be a freaking bummer.
Own it shit for brains and do your time.

  11. Why did it take 10 months ? They could shortened this investigation with a question: ” Baldwin, did you ask someone to pull your trigger finger ?”
