Allan Stratton: If the Liberals don’t course correct, they may discover that while they are attacking Poilievre as a far-right extremist, he is eating their traditional liberal, working-class lunch.

My read ended here: “us who grew up on the left”. Sorry, I don’t have time for another lefty journalist hack. Life taught me that all, 100% of these guys are just prostitutes.
Confirmed hack.
What violations of protest organizers?
Conflating immigration with illegal immigration.
What constitution? The one that did nothing when the government forced people to mask, isolate and be injected? Who needs it?
‘Common wisdom’ is not some neo-Marxist, soy-boy, panty-waist, preachy, kaleidoscope vision of civilization.
Can’t wait until your ‘fears’ come to fruition you Communist POS.
Exactly!
The first paragraph was a convenient list of Lib smearing, lies, and propaganda with no correction, no facts, no evidence.
Have to agree with you both. I’ve no patience for yet another leftarded spin on conservatism.
I think the point of the post was to show that even those on the left are getting tired of the turd’s authoritarianism.
Latest Angus Reed polling would seem to corroborate that hypothesis, but I’m not going to hold my breath. I have little faith in the Canadian electorate to actually use their brains and do the right thing.
Yeah, I always go for advice to people who took 70 years to figure out the obvious that I knew at 18.
They are like 60 year old toddlers who proudly discover and announce that “Poopy smells bad!”
If they were worth listening to they would have said something intelligent long before this.
The only thing I like about the left is when they’re ‘Left Behind’.
I managed to get to “most Canadians are for trans-rights…”
The GTA, apparently , speaks for all of us.
Mike..
That comment clearly shows that clown never left the borders of the GTA…ever
Basically been saying this for a while.
That more and more as the liberals attack normal folks for doing normal things they’ve done for generations as an ist or an ism, they start to alienate those that never got involved in politics or bothered voting.
Now that they’ve been attacked they are now looking to vote as one issue voters using one means test.
Which candidate by becoming PM is going to torment the establishment as much as the establishment has tormented me and mine?
They have chosen their destructor.
Still lots of copium flowing in the comments to that article. Good to see they’re in denial. I don’t think Trudeau is the rockstar he once was at all. He’s become a huge drain on their party.
Members of the Trudeau Cult are desperate for Pierre. They follow little Castreau in hopes PET will rise out of his mausoleum. That is the main reason the loyal presstitutes foam at the mouth in the little twerp’s presence.
” Poilievre speaks for the hard-right base of his party, certainly. And I am not looking forward to life under his leadership.”
Oh yes, how dreadful. Don’t worry Sport, Conservatives aren’t intent on removing from the CBC’s yearly Spring Book Picks.
Bingo.
Burton.
perfect response…LMAO.
I’m pretty certain that came from some Triple Vaxxed – Triple Masked brain dead Karen/Kevin….like the moron I saw yesterday riding her bike with 2 masks on..!!
I don’t often do a dble take….but that near broke my neck..
Hard right? This fake “hard right” conservative wants balanced budgets; no reconciliation $$ without truth first (history does also show that Indians liked our stuff, including universal education);
abortion allowed except for repeat offenders and “late bloomers” (lots of demand for healthy babies); sex=gender and no mandated pronouns or tranny dances in public libraries; interesting, reasoned and honest discourse in Parliament; no media payouts at all; proper border controls;
no interference nor spending in areas of provincial jurisdiction; smaller federal government; no pay forward unaffordable national programs (pharma, day care); no new fake rights, except property (not fake); fewer regulations and taxes; less and more reasoned aide; no federal control of individual bank accounts; controlled and smart immigration; no more national rules on covid, work-at-home free time for fed employees, extra passports or phony vaccines etc.
How hard is this?
“How hard is this?”
Love everything on your list. I would only add doing away with the odious practice of “supply management” and scrapping the entire Canadian ‘gun control’ effort to replace it with something fact and reality based.
(oh, and maybe bring us into the 21st century with some abortion term limits, like every other civilized western democracy has)
Unnacceptable L
IM in…!
Common Bloody Sense…but I’m a right wing fanatic dontcha know
Good analysis of where the Liberals have gone off the rails. Hopefully they will pay a price for abandoning traditional Canadian centrism and compromise. It’s also good to see some perspective regarding Poliviere. Like most Canadians he not on the ” extreme right”, which is increasingly used by Liberals and media to smear conservative politicians and their supporters. As is any and all references to ” Trumpism”.
It is interesting how Trump only became a misogynist white supremacist Russian when he ran for president as a Republican. When he was donating to the Clintons he was loved by all.
Liberal backers and their ilk are throwing out every excuse to explain why they can’t secure a majority. It must be über frustrating for globohomo to financially back a cabinet that simply cannot deliver election after election.
I predict Trudeau runs once more; secures another minority, steps down and Freeland takes the reins.
Even Liberals do not want Freeland.
Correction: Mark Carney takes the reins
Why does the left fear the right so badly?
Because the right just want to be left alone, and don’t care about what your life entails.
To a lefty, they can’t fathom not interfering totally in someone else’s affairs.
At intellectual level Yeah, it’s Freedom vs Control. But in reality I think it’s simpler than that, at least in Canada where a symbiotic relationship of 2 parasites is going on: It’s about media/press and Libranos/NDP. Media gets $ and perks from Libranos in gov (and the money come from public purse anyway so Libranos don’t give a damn) and in return they do some fellatio/propaganda so the Libranos can stay in power to give some more $. Life is good, n’est ce pas?
“Why does the left fear the right so badly?

Well said. I’ve always leaned a bit libertarian myself (not stupidly so, of course…), which is why I like the PPC.
Poilievre seems to be the best of a bad lot. We’ll see.
Well, now that we’ve had this cutting political analysis from unbiased Stratton, can we move on to another that equals it on the objectivity scale?
Perhaps the views of a transgendering former choreographer for Canada’s ice-dance team should be next in line….?
Addendum:
I should add that this is, however, quite a positive note. Stratton’s piece could be cut and pasted into the New Book of Lamentations: the wailing of a member of small tribe (with much more in common with the Laurentian Elite he disparages than with us) that senses the slipping away of its favoured status.
Like the others, I read a paragraph or two and thought, bought and paid for Liberal hack. 600 million dollars and all.
Many Bolsheviks read this blog. I am not here to give them good advice. I am here to dance on their graves.
Dude. Graves of Commies are urinals.
Graves? Graves are for human beings. Communists don’t qualify as human.
I am reliably informed that you must now join the Grave Dancer’s Union. You’ll have to file.
Look, they wouldn’t have put it on the radio if it weren’t so.
I was struck by his failure to wrap “deplorables” in quotation marks.
Furthermore, the animus towards Davos/WEF is not due to so-called anti-free trade sentiment. It is about the surrender of national sovereignty and the understandable hatred of global communism or, more accurately, global fascism.
He’s also not worried about Canada but about the future prospects of the Liberal party.
Bingo again!
As much as I have sworn off of the CPC, if Poilievre does win, it does make a statement about the direction the party wants to head.
But a win is not near enough, I would have to witness him purging the party of it’s SJW/woke tendencies and addressing our LPC-corrupted media head-on, before he earns my faith.
And until Bernier can find a way around the censorship keeping him on the sidelines, I feel the PPC has little future.
Winning strategy for PPC would be a new leader. All do respect for Max and what he has accomplished. But I really believe it would be the correct step.
Or work out a pact with CPC.
“Or work out a pact with CPC.”
Exactly my hope, if Poilievre does manage to defeat the establishment. Good men would put aside their differences for the common good, so hopefully we will see what Poilievre and Bernier are really made of, soon enough.
All this gnashing of teeth and rending of garments is premature. The CPC is the Party of Stupid. They will pick Charest to lead them into the future.
That said, there is no chance that the Liberals will correct their course back to sanity. They think they are -winning- right now.
Charest can never win the party nor the country. Singh needs to smarten up, or he will not be re-elected, even in BC.
Charest can’t win the country any more than that weirdo Patrick Brown. He’s skeevier than a dead groundhog.
But he could win the CPC. Yes indeed, he might. Because they are IDIOTS.
“Charest can’t win the country any more than that weirdo Patrick Brown. He’s skeevier than a dead groundhog.
But he could win the CPC. Yes indeed, he might. Because they are IDIOTS.”
I really hope you are wrong about that. Did they learn nothing from the Erin O’Toole debacle?
Both Scheer and O’Toole deliberately lost. They were too stupid to realise their handlers were Lieberal plants. The handlers in question are still party insiders and will attempt to do the same to whoever becomes the leader.
Phantom you are correct. Under the leader selection process Charest could win. And the media and interests on the dole will do everything possible to see it happen. And if it does Liberal not so lite will work as well as it did last time. There is only faint hope it will be better under Poilievre . In the end we will still need a new country.
There is no “working class liberal”. They split to either ndp or conservative.
Dippers represent the union heads. Not the dues payers.
Another liberal trying to tell Conservative party members how to vote ……………. Dreary …
Fortunately, we are not moved by your disdainful opinions, but it is good to know what we are up against. We will vote as we choose, thank you.
That said, I’ll bet many Liberals signed up to mess up voting.
… Canadian Observer and Unacceptable L
Agreed . I skipped through the article , but also concluded the article was essentially anti-Poilievre where the author admitted being a confirmed lefty stating… “I am not looking forward to life under his [Poilievre] leadership.”
If Poilievre is as smart as he appears , he will examine how Trump won 2016 in spite of every MSM running opposition against him. Several 2016 postmortem articles pointed out Twitter and the fact that Trump acquired several billion in free advertising as a result of the never ending negative media coverage.
Unacceptable L … Poilievre just needs to keep hammering the points you mentioned and let the media try to refute them , thereby causing even brain-dead Liberals to ponder. One aspect he should push is reinvigorating the Canadian Oil industry , which will cause the climate crazies , and Liberals to go nuts … all he has to say in response is welcome to $2+++ per liter gas prices and increasing food prices under the current Liberal policies.
Some lifetime Liberals I know have expressed in no uncertain terms that Trudeau must go. Their problem , which they don’t comprehend is , whoever replaces Trudeau cannot and will not reverse the insane climate policy religion that created the mess.

I wish everyone here was as old as me and had experienced freedom both physically and intellectually as I have. I no longer tolerate fools and we have become a nation of fools. Dump on me if you wish, it will not make you right as in, correct.
VOWG
Agreed !
I am old and have also experienced freedom both physically and intellectually. When I think of my father , uncles and all those who served in WW2 , many of whom did not return , I have a deep rage for the Trudeau’s and those who elected and allowed them to lead this country into such a mess. Canadians are worse than fools , they have allowed the country to be run by idiots and now a tyrant who is determined to turn Canada into a totalitarian state.
“traditional liberal, working class”
Bwahahaha
Jumbo shrimp.
Great Depression
Act Naturally
Social Distancing
Military Intelligence
Affirmative Action
C’mon everybody, keep it going.
Trudeau genius.
