    3. I have enjoyed[1] steadily working my way through the collected TV works of Donald Belisario. It’s interesting, in a history-of-popular-media kind of way, to see the common strains in all of his work (pro-military, both sympathetic and honest) as the zeitgeist changes with the decades. It’s an oeuvre that includes Battlestar Galactica and Airwolf but also Black Sheep Squadron and NCIS.

      When he (effectively) retired after getting booted off of NCIS, he said that with JAG gone there was no longer anything on US television providing the perspective of serving and former military. The culture’s poorer for it.

Having said that, I do not hold much respect for companies who operate within the country, and benefit from being based in this country, to come to the conclusion that the country, within which they base their operations, is offensive enough to remove the flag of the country they do business in.
