Anyone who tells you that’s what’s going on in Year of the Graves is – tenured university post or not – a fool, a liar, someone who simply lacks the gene for embarrassment, or one of those well-meaning types who are susceptible to the faddish excesses of the Words Are Violence community.
Speaking of which, when you listen to the interview you might notice Brown’s persistent refusal to acknowledge that “violence” is a word that is approprately used to describe what happened to dozens of churches across Canada last summer. They were vandalized with paint and with rocks thrown through their windows, and several Indigenous churches beloved of their congregations and parishes were burned to the ground.

Listened to it all, it’s another example of how you can’t have a decent logical conversation with berserk-left. They go more with feelings and less with logic. I’m surprised that Terry Glavin had so much patience with this guy.

I am not a fan of either gentlemen, and it seems to me that Terry is a wee bit touchier than Jesse, at least in the beginning. As to “cultural genocide”…that is a mighty loaded term, kind of like “scooping”. What were the alternatives at the time would be my only question? Neither gentleman seems to want to raise that issue. And the continuing industry of looking back to solve the past isn’t doing much good, is it?
