“We Are Not The Journalism Police”

Jesse Brown;

The names of the news organizations currently funded by taxpayers is a secret.

The amounts they receive are a secret.

The names of those rejected are a secret.

The reasons why they were rejected are a secret.

The board meets in secret. There are no videos online of their meetings, no minutes you can read.

An Interview With The Journalism Police

Listening to this now, Jesse Brown’s examples of egregious “hate content” and “fake news” stories are classically Jesse Brown.

  1. They are all bought and paid for. There is no reason to trust them. There is no reason to even read or watch them, you know its going to be bullshit.

    1. And we really don’t need a civil war to restore freedom. Yep my stupid assessment still stands.

    2. The entire Canadian media are OWNED … bought and paid-for … with a few exceptions. There is no unbiased reporting among them, they have ceased to be the Fourth Estate. The Soviet Union has resumed their totalitarian rule … not in Putin’s Russia … but in Canada. Sad. Really sad.

  2. This is funding from public money. This information regarding this must be made public, or they’re breaking the law… like that’s ever stopped them before.

  3. If the Covid panic was to end then the Covid welfare to the corrupt media should end to.
They have a strong incentive to protect the panic narrative.

They aren’t fake news, they are a corrupt and fraudulent enterprise.

  4. Liberals have always paid journalists to say what liberals want them to say.

They just made it legal now.

  5. Canad’uh, land of fake freedom…fake unity…fake wisdom…fake identity…fake news.

Kate says it best: « We need a good famine » and it looks like we are well on our way. The end results might not be something we hoped for (Totalitarianism) but sometimes real bad times forces people to fight for better times because right now too many Canadians are asleep, riding on the last fumes of the social credit card.

  6. Government buying advertising time for propaganda has been going on for over twenty years now. That was the first subsidies handed out to make sure the media said the “right” things. With the new subsidies, these are on top of the original ones.

Harper should have prohibited subsidies and buying propaganda time. Especially since it wasn’t buying any positive “news” from the Lieberal controlled media.

  7. How did CBC come up with fraudulent stories about Freedom convoy donations that so perfectly fitted Trudeau’s crackdown on his political opponents?
Did the PMO order those stories?
Did the PMO produce those stories and instruct CBC to run them?

CBC claim that they examined the donations and concluded that they were foreign.
    How?
What did they examine if anything?
And if they did examine anything how did they get it wrong?

It’s not farfetched to conclude that the PMO ordered up some CBC lies to justify his crushing political opponents.

    1. Bullsh*t.

The CBC was HAPPY to run pro-Liberal stories. They needed no instruction whatsoever.
It is their basic, progressive, eastern, urban nature.

  8. “Heck, even the chair of the QCJO board, @ColetteB , strongly suggested to me in today’s Canadaland podcast that she opposes the secrecy… ”

nothing is stopping her from feeding the info to a MP to reveal it in the HoC

    1. Or, if she opposes the secrecy and had a shred of conscience, she could resign from the committee. But I expect there is a juicy little “honorarium” that she would have to give up. Just another pig at the trough.

  9. How is that remotely legal or ethical, every dime they spend we should have access to how they spend it. I hope the conservatives pounce on this issue and promise to open the books once Herr Justine is removed by the electorate.

    1. Yes. Open the books on the past and then shut down the program. Let the legacy media sink or swim on the public’s trust and willingness to pay.

  10. What pisses me off about people like Jesse Brown is the arrogance that when a media organization like Western Standard publishes something that isn’t inline with the his thinking, it must be misinformation. Why do these people never mention what the misinformation is supposed to be? Brown, and Justin Ling two peas in the same pod. They know what’s real and what’s fake, end of story. Sure.

    1. I only listened to about half of the interview. Until he started bashing Western Standard (for their covid “disinformation”) and trying to get Ms. Brin to reveal whether Rebel News dared to apply (whether rejected or not) for this money.

    2. Yeah happy to see someone questioning the lack of transparency but when that person’s primary concern seems to be that taxpayers might be unwillingly funding anti-government-narrative “misinformation” it’s a real black pill.

    3. Yes! I wasn’t the only one pissed off and wanting to hurl my phone.
I only finished the interview in an attempt to not be as closed-minded as they are. It is enlightening to see how they view things.

      1. It is really too bad that Jesse Brown is such a left-winger as he is one of the very few Canadian sources that is not afraid to go after the CBC and Liberals and their friends from time to time (WE scandal, LavScam, etc).

  11. I don’t recall this communist liberal government asking we taxpayers permission to fund liberal propaganda. On another note anyone who thinks Christia Freeland who has a B.A. in Slavic languages has any say in drafting the budget is either an idiot or a liberal, both are interchangeable

  12. When I read stories about how the Canadian Liberal government gives out over a billion dollars in subsidies to the various forms of Canadian media and then I hear people around me talk about Canada being a beacon of democracy in the world,…. I don’t want to ask them even 1 question, I just want to kill them, lol

  13. The same media that they pay were already politically aligned with the Spawn-Fuhrer and his Reich before this program was created. The need for the program and related secrecy is to prop up the horse and buggy-like industry that the over-saturated institutionally leftist media had become and essentially put them on welfare as the market was rejecting the echo chamber along with the medium. It’s pure (fascist) corporate welfare. The accompanying corruption is just LPC boiler plate.
