  1. Its voluntary, so what’s the problem?
At least it isn’t leading to gun violence in Toronto, like those evil gun smugglers are.
Don’t get me going about the sharpened shovel smugglers, and all the illegal graves they dig.

    1. The $200k that Victoria Silly Hall threw at the grifters WASN’T voluntary.

How deep does white guilt go?

Already, the Feds and the CommieNDP throw guilt money at the grifters, so why three levels of government?
      There’s only ONE taxpayer.

      1. Again, voluntary.
Unlike, say, seat-belt laws, helmet laws or gun laws.
Whine about what is real, fight about it if ya gots the parts to do so.

    2. It’s “voluntary” in the same sense as you having the choice to get vaccinated or not.

It IS still your choice, right? But look what happens if you do not choose correctly.

      THAT’s the problem!!!

      1. So, according to this, what happens to those who don’t give?
        Nothing.
        Whine about what is real.

        1. Administration fees will be paid for by the unvoluntary victims of this extortion.

    3. Part of the problem is the message to First Nations that they are permanent victims. Very disempowering. A better approach would be to identify a project that might be helpful to First Nations and have people contribute to this as a charitable thing. Leave ” reconciliation” out of it. There are many good things in this country. We should be looking for ways for everyone to share our country — not trying to undo the past.

    4. Voluntary until it isn’t. Stupid Canadians. We are screwed out of over 15 billion dollars a year by the indian cartel. That number may even be as high as 20 billion, no one really knows as there is no freaking valid accounting of any spending when it comes to indians.

    5. It starts out voluntary, then it becomes mandatory soon thereafter… like a camel that puts its nose under the tent. Pretty soon the camel is fully in the tent a crapping all over the place.

I am completely tired of hearing about the plight of native Indians…. That already siphon billions from hard working Canadians and just look what they do with all that dough.

  2. They should do the same with the CBC, first though mandatory taxes need to disappear for both the CBC and First Nations. Fake News outlets and Nations should fund themselves, and take voluntary donations if they choose of course.

  3. There used to be a box on the income tax form where you could make voluntary additional
contributions to help pay off the debt. I wonder how much was ever volunteered? (Best guess, $0)!

  4. Yeah, I don’t have a problem with voluntary, and long as it is truly voluntary. If some idiot prog wants to impoverish him/her/itself to assuage whatever false consciousness of “white settlers’ guilt” they have, that’s fine by me.

Of course, we’ll have to make sure that those voluntary donations don’t somehow disappear forever down the gaping maw of governments’ “general revenue” . . .

    1. Here’s the problem that I see, Now that the precedent has been set what’s to stop them going to each municipality, one by one, and guilting them into doing the same? Then using that same guilt to go from voluntary to mandatory? How many politicians have the backbone to say no to them?

  5. Sorry to be off topic,
    I very rarely do it.

but Democrats are witholding 48,000 pages of documents on Kentaji Jackson, the black female who approves of critical race theory and is very soft on pedophiles.

There has to be some very horrible things in those 48,000 pages for Democrats to be refusing to let anyone see them.

  6. Just as income tax was temporary until it became mandatory so to will this be voluntary until it becomes mandatory for the ROC but not in Quebec.

    1. Yeah, my first impression was that maybe the lack of donations will finally clue them in to the fact that normal Canadians don’t think First Nations are owed any reconciliation. However you’re undoubtedly closer to the truth with your assessment of this being a pre-cursor to a mandatory tax.

    2. Yup. Now that the oil industry is all but dead in this country (thank you very much, Prinz Dummkopf, Gerry, and Stevie), a good source of income for the Indians, Chief Big Screen TV needs to come up with another way of paying for a new pickup or three.

That’s only for Victoria. Now, extend that mentality to the rest of the province and you’ll know what it’s like to live in B. C.

    3. Alberta is like that swimmer, Lia whatserface, she pretends she’s a man, but simply can’t compete with real men like Quebec, even with all your oil moneys. You’re a bunch of limp-wristed buttercups when it comes to politics, economics, and force, now go and arrest another pastor, because you can.

      1. You get kicked out of university or high school HooHi or whatever ever your post name is today go find something to do.If you think a volunteer payment is fine ,you better tell upstairs and ask your parents if it’s alright first

  7. Italy will likely be instituting a similar tax to pay for the Roman empire’s land theft as well. Can’t wait to get my payout.

      1. Well, they did invade the homeland of my ancestors when they crossed the Rhine. Der alte Hermann have them a good thrashing in the Teutoburger Wald. The Romans didn’t like that, for some reason.

        1. The news of the annihilation of Varus’ legions was panic-inducing; with the legions gone, the Alps were the only thing standing between Rome and the Germanic hordes. Emperor Augustus ordered an emergency levy and moved Legion V Alaudae north to fill the gap. The numbers of the lost legions, XVII, XVIII, and XIX, were never used again. Although Augustus acted swiftly, he was deeply affected by the loss. Even months afterward, he would bang his head against the wall shouting “Quinctilius Varus, give me back my legions!”

      2. Well, in Early Britain they built better, durable, smoother, straighter roads and I’m pretty sure that, if required, they would have been able to set a man-hole, rail crossing, cattle grid or bridge deck somewhere near to the same level as the road either side.

  8. My Métis son in law and my Métis grandson thank you for your hard work and contribution. It’s far better to receive than to give. Facepalm

    1. If your son in law is metis and your daughter isn’t, that would make your grand son half metis.

      1. Maybe … but still eligible for a FULL SHARE of all Canadian 1st Nations Tribal largesse. And Full North American citizenship. And the required worship from Neil Young

  9. I give Blackie credit for this. He promised and delivered. Harper played to the ignorant and claimed cannabis was ‘infinitely worse than tobacco’. The NDP would only commit to decriminalization.

He needs to go further and remove the nanny state artificial THC limits on the legal product(especially edibles).

    Let freedom ring!

    1. Pot’s for teenagers. If you’re still smoking pot after that you’re missing out on your best meth and crack days

  10. There are lots of retired federal bureaucrats, mostly liberals, in Victoria who are swimming in cash as a result of their fat indexed federal pensions. I expect them to ‘step up’ and transfer title to their real estate to the local First Nations and start paying rent. The City should transfer all its property too. Emperor Justine The Virtuous would approve, don’t you think?

  11. BTW … I get really pissed-off when the checkout terminal at Safeway asks if I want to GIVE money to the womens shelter BEFORE I pay for their inflated grocery prices. WTF?

I am certain my checkout records of ZERO giving at the checkstand will go into my permanent social credit record …

    1. @Kenji “….checkout terminal at Safeway asks if I want to GIVE money…”

LOL – I always tell them that Trudeau took their share from me and they should go ask him where it went.

    1. Last year’s half-masted flag circus was just a warm-up for what’s to come.

  12. I guess if you are willing to pay 800-900K for a tear down shack on a postage stamp sized lot, then you are prime pickings, for the snake oil salesman. Have at ‘er.

  13. Tax me harder, daddy!
In fact, I will help by voluntarily taxing myselfie.
And, oh, I now feel guilt free on indigenous occupied land, as a white settler.
    Sorry!
Oh, and my pronouns are white and fragile.
Ok….off to Starbucks for a skinny whatever, and be seen in my unique conformity.
I will bring a “Canada Reads” novel about some middle eastern immigrant’s experience of being brown and oppressed in Canada.
Maybe I will even bring my rescue dog from Ukraine and hope it bites a conservative trucker.
    HONK.

  14. Only a kunt who hates people thinks this is a good idea
Giving Indians free shit is the reason so many of them are so goddamn fucking destitute.

  15. Water meters were voluntary at first in Calgary. If you weren’t a water hog you could save money compared to the flat rate ($26/month).

Today water meters are mandatory and the typical monthly bill is $100 coming in and $125 going out (sewer fees). Many Calgarians pay more for water than gas and electricity.

    1. Storm water was, for a while, based on water usage. Maybe a lot of us clued in that rain wasn’t dependent on how long we left the tap going. It is now a flat rate.

  16. This isn’t the first time some idiotic scheme like this was cooked up. Air Canada always asks if you want to buy an indulgence from the church – actually called a carbon credit. It is only a matter of time when that also becomes mandatory. Only the severely walking brain dead voluntarily pay into that as well.

  17. If I’m following the logic here, Canada, after paying, I don’t know, how many hundreds of billions of dollars to indigenous folks since Confederation is still illegitimate, why can’t Putin take Ukraine?

  18. I was talking with an Ontario trapper buddy of mine on the weekend. He lives near a rez and said the first of the cheques are starting to arrive. This round of cheques is for those who are the offspring of a parent who went to a residential school. The average cheque is 21k.

  19. Since I live on the traditional territory of the Hudson Bay Company I’m just going to go shopping at the Bay instead.

  20. I’m sure that this will receive enthusiastic support for many mainline denominational churches. It gives them yet another reason to broadcast their virtue-signalling and to continue their hatred against western civilization.

  21. “The motion was proposed by Victoria mayor Lisa Helps and councillors Marianne Alto, Sarah Potts and Jeremy Loveday. ”

Somebody from that benighted city could perhaps comment on the political pedigree of these naifs.

      1. Don’t forget to mention that the entire council, save for one, are all of the same ilk. Collectively, they worship at the same alter Portland does and try and out do them at every chance. As soon as they feel comfortable, they will attempt to make it mandatory. With the citizenship here, they will probably be successful, it’s perplexing really!

  22. Well while were at it why don’t we really open the gates? I propose that the government begin by putting a series of check boxes on the tax return form, lets say five for a start, five ministries so to speak, a) National Defence, b) Infrastructure, c) Health and Medical, d) Education, and e) Foreign Aid. Inside each box the Canadian taxpayer elects how much of his/her income tax is allocated to each area. Then according to how much each of these ministries get from the returns we have an indication from the taxpayer to leverage the government about where the finances are to be used. If any ministry falls below a certain predetermined level then they could be removed from the budget. Just a thought, any comments?

  23. The mass hysteria of wokeness will do that to people.
They don’t need to think, be skeptical, ponder things, they have people to do it for them.
In another time people lived in lotus land and behaved very much the same.

  24. Ok….let’s have a good look at the Cunning Wokerratti Stunts who put this HorseShit together…shall we..??

    Lisa Helps
    Marianne Alto
    Sarah Potts
    Jeremy Loveday.

…are you fucking kidding me..?? With names like that…? Each one the child of some Acid head from the Mid to late ’60’s…..no..??

    1. The wife and I were visiting her brother, who happens to be a retired Anglican priest, in Victoria a few years ago. We were invited to attend Sunday services at the local high falutin’ Anglican cathedral. The female priest (natch) began the proceedings by invoking the white guilt land acknowledgement spiel, which was a first for me. Told the old lady and her brother I felt sick, which was the absolute truth, and I left in disgust. Spent the next hour chain-smoking in the parking lot and made sure to butt out my smokes on every Prius and Tesla I could find. There were a lot of them. The wife and brother-in-law were none too happy with me. Fuck ’em, I say.
