Because it’s not focused on preserving a nation and instead focuses on the bread and circuses to keep the nation from rising up and turfing the parasites to the curb. The important things like maintaining a federal budget that does not create an onerous burden on its citizens, a robust defence capability that is able to maintain the nations sovereignty, and a legal system that is respected by its citizens instead of being used to benefit those with connections.
Without those the country will become a failed state and will be nothing more than a frontier open to depredations by those with bad intentions and acting in bad faith.

My vote in AB is worth about 1/130k and in PEI their vote is worth about 1/40k (representing all citizens, not only the voters)
There’s a census compiled each decade, and in the following election to that census the representation should be adjusted for that, 1 vote/100k citizens.
PEI should have 1 MP, if they’re someday able to trick 200k citizens to live there, then they’ll get 2 MP’s, and when they’re taxed into oblivion again, and population falls to 199k citizens, they’ll revert to 1 MP.
Apply the same standard to the other provinces.

I am old enough to remember the quest for a Triple E Senate. Quebec said it would only agree to to a Triple E Senate if it gets minimum seats in the commons.
We said okay, probably a non-issue anyway. Give us the Triple E Senate. Then the NDP yelled, wait just a minute. You MUST agree to a Social Charter meaning a guaranteed minimum wage for all people in Canada. This would mean super high taxes like the other countries that already implemented it.
The first condition was akin to eating all your beans before you could have desert. The Dipper’s ultimatum was commit suicide and then we’ll see about it.
Now, Quebec gets its minimum seats guarantee and the Dippers are close to getting their Social Charter. We, the West, just get F*cked.
