Sticking to the Fawlty Towers theme from last night, here’s a documentary about the very funny short-lived sitcom.

Will Chrystia Freeland soon be in leg shackles? (Asking for a saying.

  1. Look up Hypocrite in a dictionary and you’ll see a photo of Trudeau

When will we deplorables finally learn once and for all that Dear Leader is incapable of doing anything wrong?

  2. What can be worse than a stinker of a movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme or Dolph Lundgren? How about a clunker that has both of them in it? One example is Black Water:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slY1LZmeJUA

It’s the kind of flick you might want to watch when all the paint on the wall has dried. If you do decide to watch it, try not to laugh. I mean, it’s hard to keep a straight face when you hear Dolph Lundgren’s attempt at Sam Shepard’s drawl.

    1. I think Dolph hit his apex in Rocky when he told Sly ” I must crush you “.
He’s been in free fall ever since.

      1. Last night, I watched this made-in-Canada tax loss, The Peacekeeper:

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EclTJjoKa0Q

(What on earth was Roy Scheider doing in that one?)

Earlier tonight, I looked at Bridge of Dragons:

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2fgEf78_60

Does it want to be The Princess Bride crossed with Mad Max and a Rambo flick? Who knows? (Yeah, it’s one of those “ya gotta see it to believe it” messes–and there are no bridges nor dragons in it.)

OK, you’re wondering why I watched that twaddle. I actually stumbled across one of them while I was looking up something about another movie, so I wasn’t specifically searching for anything featuring Lundgren. I guess it was a case of morbid curiosity more than anything else.

Consider it the cinematic equivalent of junk food.

        1. Every now and then you come across a movie that is so bad you have to watch it to the end just to see if the whole thing is as bad as the beginning. I am not citing any but have watched a couple in my life. It is mesmerizing.

          1. I started liking awful movies after I heard about the book The 50 Worst Films of All Time, which I eventually bought. The reason is that they’re so bad, they are unintentionally hilarious.

After watching some of them, I became hooked. (Try keeping a straight face while watching Plan Nine from Outer Space.)

          2. Who needs a book?

            Just watch anything, anything Canadian.

Guaranteed lousy and guaranteed to be tax-payer funded up the wazoo.

    2. BTW, although Black Water was made in 2018, Jean-Claude Van Damme still has the acting ability of a 2 x 4.

    3. It s not the first time they shared a screen. Who here remembers a 1992 Universal Soldier? They were also starring together in one of the Expendables.

I agree the JCVD is an awful actor, I would argue that he rates at only 1.2 Steven Seagals, for comparison I would rate Vin Diesell at 2.0 Steven Seagals (Steven Seagal being obviously the basic unit of measurement).

I think Dolph Lundgren is cool. While a bad actor he is a genuinely smart guy (Fulbright scholarship at MIT) and more importantly never treats himself too seriously. Just check this out, here he is in what one would never expect to be his natural environment and he is having a blast (watch at least until 1:45) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wBq3wPBOXc How can you not like him after that?

      1. I believe that Lundgren completed a master’s degree in chemical engineering. As for his musical number, I’ll bet that Elvis never broke ice blocks on stage as part of his routine.

BTW, he wasn’t the only educated movie tough guy. According to IMDB, character actor William Smith began studies on a doctorate, though it doesn’t indicate whether he finished it. He also spoke 4 languages.

  3. Why oh why do we play this game that the Liberals/Democrats/Academia foist on us. Nazi-ism is not a far right group, Period, FULL STOP!!!! We have been fed and told this lie from back in the 50’s. The bald fact of the matter is that big business had been coerced into aligning with nazi-ism over the fear that rising communism would remove the power of the corporate world. This all happened in the Twenties and Thirties and after the war the left have been instrumental in trying to change the landscape by retagging National Socialism as a far right ideology. Far right ideology is free enterprise, a government controlled economy is the very basis of socialism. There is a happy medium somewhere in the Middle Ground but if we keep allowing the left to change definitions at their will we will never reach a Middle Ground.

    1. I am a socialist. -Adolf

Compare and contrast the doctrines of Stalin, Hitler, and Mussolini. There is little difference. Tojo has differences based on culture, but hard left principles are there.

So nice to see someone that knows what happened.

      I am far right.

      Freedom!!!!!

      1. I would be far right. Less government and the max of individual freedom. Anyone who wants more government is a commie, all of them. Totalitarian tyranny encompasses everything that smacks of more and bigger government, I don’t care what word is used, nazi, fascist, NDP, liberal, they are all commies.

        1. They’re all communists.
A wise friend, who fled Hungary during the communist regime, once told me, “Vote for who will steal from you the least!”
It’s been my voting strategy ever since.

          1. +++GG. sadly it has been my experience that they all steal in some way or another.

    2. The labels left and right will always be a trap. Think of the political spectrum as a circle not an arc. Fascism and communism are both tyrannies with distinctions, not differences. At the opposite side of the circle is classical liberal, or libertarianism. Arguments about whether Hitler was a fascist or a socialist were always akin to how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. Hitler was a fascist, Stalin was a communist. Explain the difference, especially from the perspective of the ground with the boot on your neck.

    3. From the Nazi Party platform.

“We demand nationalization of all businesses which have been up to the present formed into companies (trusts).”

That was one of the reasons Ernst Rohm fell out of favour with the party. He was demanding that point be implemented.

    1. NR, the fools still have not admitted that they were and are all wrong, every single one of them.

    2. I’ll be more forgiving when seized churches are returned. Persecution of pastors stops. Mandates are terminated with no risk of reimplementing.
Until then, Kenney is a dick.

      1. I don’t trust them either. I bet the Federal gov will probably do the thing. You know all that, the thing, the whole enchilada.

  4. Trudeau’s pretend “tough guy” new tariffs applied to Russian and Belarusian imports to Canada is now 35%, as of Friday, compared to zero before.

Trudeau’s continuing tariffs on milk and dairy imports into Canada: 241% to 314%

A milk producer in Wisconsin is charged 8 or 9 times greater tariffs than Putin is.

      1. Perhaps you have forgotten lutefisk? That would qualify as an existential threat.

    1. Coherent English appears to be a foreign language to her. Then again, Prinz Dummkopf can’t speak it, either.

  5. Our politicians are UNITED and have the mainstream media condemnations of Russia and have quick fired many sanctions and restrictions…
In reality, not so much as contracts and laws are in place that restrict them from doing just that.
As the SWIFT system and other things imposed start to hit the reality of lawsuits and other world trade agreements bite back.
I don’t see the Ukraine Dispute being in the news much because questions will be asked of what was promised to actual reality of what they can do.

  6. What’s this? Some of the Progs got hit with a clue stick? Naaahhhhh…

He’ll hit the campaign trail with a fresh coat of blackface, new socks, newly sharpened elbows, nicely manicured hands to grope with, the latest haircut & another scraggly beard & the ladies will swoon for him.

    1. Has anyone ever seen a gender breakdown of the last 3 elections anywhere?

Harder to find than an honest Canadian journalist!

      1. gender breakdown

Isn’t that what drag queen story times are?

    1. I guess sometimes its OK to gather a gang of heavily armed thugs, drive for an hour and murder an old man, here in Canada. It only depends on who signs your paycheck.
Has the mystery man who called for an appointment the day before been identified? Has his cell phone and its records been released to the family?

      1. At least the cops were nice enough to bring an ambulance in case someone got hurt.
It doubles as a hearse also.

    2. Very convenient.
Funny how wide a loop city police have in Can Ahh Duh.
I must be real ignorant of Canadian Law,for I understood Port Dover to be NOT part of The City of Toronto, thus out of the area legally “controlled” by the City Gestapo.

Now due to recent events,I am more than happy to be wrong.
As we can now, legally send in a hit-quad from Buttfuck Alberta to “accidentally kill while arresting”,treacherous lying scumbags anywhere in Can Ahh Duh.

      These new rules are amazing.

    1. At least the article concluded by effectively calling Freeland a liar for what, in 2017, she claimed was Russian disinformation:

“Her grandfather, as described in an article written by Himka that the Globe and Mail reported on in 2017, was editor of a Nazi propaganda newspaper, the Krakow News, in occupied Poland during the Second World War. The Globe reported Freeland had edited the article.

When the news of her grandfather’s role was first reported that year, including by pro-Putin sites, Freeland initially linked it to a Russian disinformation campaign.”

    1. Very hard hitting and absolutely true. I think Henry has gone off the deep end. I am glad he mentioned the word ” evil”. That certainly captures some if what we have been dealing with. Henry no longer has any credibility as a public health person. Dump her. She is hurting too many people.

  7. Breaking: CBC News has just suspended operations in Russia, citing the new rules covering journalism, and the security of its staff, in that country.
