Hold The Line

Brownstone Institute- Society vs State: Canada Reveals the Core Conflict of Our Age

The truckers, for their part, represent everything that the state despises. They have a social and political power that is independent from it, and hence form one of the alternative sources of power which it hates and fears. This power derives not from some institution which the truckers dominate, but simply from their status amongst what I will refer to as the yeomanry classes – almost the last bastion of self-sufficiency and independence in a modern society such as Canada.

  1. Hey parents,
Take your kids to Ottawa this weekend to teach them the importance of historical knowledge about freedom through democracy and where, geographically, our hard working leaders are situated at the federal level.
Show them how to salute the parliament and our proud flag. Sing the national anthem so they learn it and retain it at an early age.

    1. Superb recommendation. And if the government or their hired ANTIFA thugs use Bear Spray on your kids … another great lesson in the fruits of Fascism

    2. You are right on with your thoughts. You are right, this is HISTORICAL, and everyone has to be shown how we got here and who is responsible and how we get out of this mess………

Besides the FREE FOOD, it’s all about showing the world what it means to be CANADIAN EH?

  2. Like people have been saying, the left kept saying itwanted the working class to rise up and now they are, so they must be crushed.

  3. leftists are becoming more authoritarian, and less tolerant

anyone that disagrees with them is now an enemy and must be crushed

it does not matter if you disagree with the left on abortion, gay rights, vaccines or if truckers have the right to protest peacefully, the simple fact you disagree with the left makes you an enemy that those leftists full of tyrant DNA must crush and destroy.

That is why facebook, twiter and all those leftist richer than God people cannot even tolerate that you are allowed to post an opinion; like dictators, like tyrants, even what you say and what you think is to them intolerable.

In the USA parents who protect their kids are now considered terrorists by their own government

In Canada bringing a pillow to a trucker may get you to be arrested or fined.

During WWII french women who slept with the nazis had their head shaved.

Now people who gave 30$ to the truckers have their head shaved – figuratively- by being doxed by the LEFTIST main stream media.

Saying the left has Tyrant DNA is not an opinion, it is a diagnosis.

  4. Yes agreed.
They have always hated rugged individualism.
It’s what made North America and they despise it.

  5. What we are watching is the government putting Mao’s Cultural Revolution playbook into use. The MSM publishing names as a means to shame donors – even threatening violence (against ice cream parlour) is all out of there.

  6. In a perfect world, the state is the people. The government is elected by the people to manage the state. In the western world, the people have allowed a professional governing class to rise and control government for its own ends. Its objective is to hold power and it’ll do anything it can to keep it. Governments have stopped managing the state on behalf of the people and instead are managing it for themselves. They are outright rejecting the truckers and the people who support them because the truckers want governments to manage the state for the people and uphold the people’s rights under the charter. By his words and his actions Trudeau is saying “L’etat c’est moi.” The coming days and weeks will determine if that’s true. Trudeau has made this about more than the vaccine.

  7. Government always becomes the home of looters and thugs. This protest is the first serious push back against the paradigm of state supremacy in Canada in recent memory. Senior governments have secured power through the mob rule of democracy by destroying morality of the electorate through deficit spending, borrowing and buying votes with endless promise of free stuff, the mirage of security, and more recently the snake oil of saving the planet, and salvation from fear of a virus. All they had to do submit and obey forever. As the author of that essay pointed out, this is a cohort not compromised by, dependent on, cronies of, pathologically tied to, or a part of the state.

  8. Be creative. Be unpredictable. “They” (in government) don’t know how the real world functions. The “truckers” know what makes things work and thus can be powerful, because they occupy the critical spaces in society.
