A very good conversation here between Candace Malcolm and Jonathon Kay on the obsolete media, vaccines, and the trucker protest.
Kay seems to fall into the category of the older school, left leaning, urban, laptop employed class. What’s good is that while you might not agree with his opinion on a number of things it’s clear he understands what’s going on. He’s honest and open about it without going into over the top hysterics. Which is one of the things he hates about the new left and the current Liberal party. He wasn’t on the side of the trucker protests at first but the crazier the new left and the Liberals became about it the more it changed his mind.
Kay knows Trudeau, he wrote a book with him. So he has insight that other people don’t. If you don’t have time to listen to the whole thing, pick a random spot and listen to five minutes of it.

Am I crazy…
@ 3:45 he says “I am super into vaccines, I think mandates are fine”
@20:42 he says “I support vaccines, I don’t support forcing people to get vaccinated”
Typical, I was for it before I was against it or was the the other way.
He’s one of those types who thinks a mandate isn’t actually FORCING one to get jabbed. Such people think that forcing means the state comes to your door, holds you down, and forcibly injects you, and that anything less than that isn’t actually forcing.
He also said he disagrees with truckers on mandates.
Listening to the entire session. If you can’t listen you are a problem. He has a very sensible outlook on the convoy.
Except he says he’s against mandates but disagrees with truckers on them?
I tuned out Kay a long time ago. If you want to listen to a guy who has political tightrope walking and double speak down to an art…he’s your guy.
He seems like someone lost in the woods. He is a socialist of the old Marxist class struggle era whose tribe has, like he admitted, been consumed by the US identity politics, and post modern nihilism because, again, like he said, they are all well to do, white collar, upper class, elites who do socialism as a cultural in-crowd piety. The truckers have exposed their (progressives) contradiction and moral bankruptcy. He’s also a bigot when it comes to conservatives and westerners but to his credit he is a free speech advocate.
John Chittick,
You got that right.
I listened to the whole interview despite my aversion to his initial comments.
He went on to rightly point out that the Zoom crowd are the douche bags. As he said, that progressive set get paid handsomely to hang out in their tony neighbourhoods and enjoy their new normal, while millions of us suffer the suppression of the last two years, losing jobs and businesses and friends and family.
While I disagree with his politics, I commend him for seeing what a fringe group the leftist progressives have become with their unacceptable views.
He reminds me of Dave Rubin when Dave awakened.
Just another go-along-to-get-along presstitute. Far too many in canaduh. Will bend to which ever way the breeze blows.
I found Kay to be a bit condescending. He was also irritated having to defend his bum chum a couple of times.
I wish Candace would work on her delivery. She has lots to say and is very intelligent. Her stuttering and repeating makes her come across as unsure.
Kay is an opportunist who knows which way the wind is blowing and where the money is likely to going to be.
If he’s ever held accountable for his words, no worries—he’ll suddenly remember he’s Jewish and beg Mother Israel for asylum.
He’s not the genius he thinks he is.
is there a transcript?
I’d rather poke my own eye out than listen to mr Kay and pretend he is anything other than a pretentious asshole (pardon my french).
