1. 1) The actual science is that if the mask mesh can block a particle including a virus of larger size the particle doesn’t enter the mouth, nose, or lungs.

   2) If the mask leaks, allowing larger particles than the mesh will allow to pass, it doesn’t work.

   3) if you remove the mask and touch your face with contaminated fingers, you will get sick.

   “Masks” or filters have a mesh rating usually in “microns”.

   Very simple.

4. It is certain that prolonged periods being masked impairs the necessary expulsion of CO2 to some degree, leading to elevated levels of a toxin retained in our bodies. Is it negligible? Probably not in a cumulative way. Why take that risk?

6. Prager sums up the case against masking rather well, but misses a major problem for many of us in a cold climate, that being the fogging of our glasses upon entering any building in winter. That alone is a hazzard, and at minimum a major inconvenience.

8. Everyone who has worked construction,in industry knows masks.
   WHIMIS.
   Occupational Health and Safety.
   Let us pretend you work on a site with an airborne toxin..
   What is hazard?
   How can you avoid working in it?
   What protective equipment works?
   Specifically what filter numbers are required?
   How do we decontaminate?.

   The so called Public Health Instructions for Covid-19 never even rose to the standard of a construction site..
   And these are our experts,professionals and “betters”.?

   However I now recommend masking up,full facial recognition denial..
   Will be very useful when retribution depends on individual action.

   1. There is also ‘So Far As Is Reasonably Practical’ which in my country at least is the CORNERSTONE of the Work Safe laws.

      It is a two edged sword and if you ever get dragged into court then YOU have to defend your risk reduction choices, but basically it is saying there is no such thing as 100% safe and sometimes you can make rational compromises.

      Case point? You have dug a hole in a public area. Say 2m deep to access a pipe. It is reasonably practical to fence off the immediate area and present warning signs. It is not reasonably practical to evacuate the local area and appoint security guards to patrol the area 24/7 even though this method would reduce the risk of falling into the hole by a greater amount.

      You must eventually make a compromise, but you have to be able to defend your decisions legally. Saying “it would have disrupted the lives of hundreds of families” is a valid excuse to not evacuate the entire area of our example hole. Saying “I couldn’t be stuffed” will have you butchered in court should anything go remotely wrong.

      That is how industry works. You are legally, ethically and morally required to reduce risks, but nothing is ever completely safe.

      (“Safe” is actually a word we are encouraged NOT to use for it gives the false impression that nothing can ever go wrong. There is always a risk of some sort. Your job as a professional is to actively reduce risk, but only So Far As Is Reasonably Practical.)

      John is absolutely correct that the management of COVID would not be allowed in any other industry.

9. Every one of these mask recommendations that have been spewed by the liars & shakers are about as effective at staving off mosquitoes with a barbwire fence. Now, double that fence & envision how much better two masks are.

   Want something better? Duct tape. Wrap it around your head about 10 or 12 times & no longer any Covid worries.

   1. Save tape, use a plastic bag. Only wrap the tape about your neck to secure the bag.

10. In the comments, a guy stated a harley rider wearing mast passing him at 80 MPH, now that is some funny shit rite there. And yes, I’v encountered an idiot riding a bike wearing mask. I almost drove off the road laffing at said fool.

    2. Some loser last summer was riding his e-bike around town at 50km/h in flip flops, shorts, no shirt and no helmet, but he sure as hell was wearing that face diaper every time I saw him.

    3. I don’t know what kind of mask the guy had on, but there are lots of Hawg riders locally who’ve been riding for years with non-medical full face masks (usually silk screened with a skull) to avoid being photographed by the gendarme. Got nothing to do w/ the coof.

       If the guy actually had a Covid mask on while riding then he’s not a biker, but a squid.

11. I find the practice of mask wearing has benefitted my career as a bank robber – I don’t wear one which confuses the hell out of witnesses.

13. FFS! I’m absolutely gobsmacked that one has to even explain this to CANADIANS of all people!
    Here’s an easy experiment you can do yourself:
    Next cold morning, put your mask on, go outside, stand in front of something reflective, and breathe, while observing your reflection.
    You see all that vapor around your head? If you’re infected, that vapor will contain viruses.
    THAT is how effective masks are. Essentially not at all. They block nothing…they prevent nothing.

    It is an emasculation determined by a coalition of matriarchals and soy boys, designed to remind us when out in public that we are unclean, not really fully alive, and should keep our mouths shut.

    The people who did not figure this out within a few weeks just had too much faith in the ability of widely separated molecules to prevent the spread of other molecules. If there’s any science in that, it’s dodgy at best.

    Also it reminds us that at the end of the road is Asian communism.

    This is why we must set a date in the near future and have a broad social movement that rejects the mask. If 60 or 70 per cent of people start ignoring the mask, the police and nosy fellow citizens will have too much on their plate and give up trying.

    I am suggesting March 17th, St Patrick freed Ireland of the snakes, so we can free ourselves of the masks in his honour.

15. Masks do help a little bit, just to protect others, otherwise surgeons wouldn’t wear them.
    As far as preventing the spread of a cold or flu, though, negligible gains.

    1. YW, surgeons wear them to prevent spitting in an open incision they do not wear them because of airborne viruses. Add to that, an operating room has additional oxygen pumped in to mediate the excess CO2 that one inhales while wearing a mask.
