Neil Who?

Update (from Kate):

The singer-songwriter appears to have already backed out of the ultimatum given that he deleted the open letter he had posted to his website.

“Young likely realized that he has no grounds to make the demands. Rogan has an exclusive deal with Spotify and Young sold 50% of the rights to his music to a British investment company a year ago,” writes Christina Maas.

    1. Isn’t it amazing, how all these people who for years have proclaimed tolerance, inclusion, etc now seem to have no problem spewing hatred towards people who believe in bodily integrity. Imagine that, they can tolerate anything it seems except those who won’t tolerate their own body being violated, or those who support them, or think differently from the tolerant, or are not submissive white.

      1. Just thinking about that, “Submissive White” – I wonder, I should turn that into a paint colour. It’s a white paint that no matter how you apply it, dry it, etc it always runs. Maybe Walmart will market it, seems appropriate for its vaxxed quebec customers.

      2. What happened to all the “stick it to the man” hippies?
Do lots of drugs stimulate the hypocrisy centre of the brain?

        1. …turned into “stick it to the men”. shaky old cow, that Young, meanwhile the Southern Man, DeSantos…. well, 🙂

    2. Neil Young sounds a little hoarse with no shame.

So will he do a cover version of that famous song by America, with a new line for the refrain: “I’ve been irrelevant being hoarse, with no shame…..”?

    1. Neil Young is the biggest hypocrite Canada has ever produced. He rails about America, but where does he live? What is his citizenship. Not going to pay Canadian taxes, not ol’ Neil. He has been a farce ever since Lynyrd Skynyrd bitch slapped him into irrelevance. He may be as dumb as the Turd.

  1. Cool. We’ll keep Rogan. At least he lives in the present and not some alternate reality where the moronic opinions of some talentless, drug-addled has-been musician matter.

    1. Spotify is just going to ignore Neil Young. Let him take them to court. Neil Young is all hat and no cattle.

  2. I’m sure he won’t want dirty money from dirty unvaxxed.

I wonder if I send him his album he’ll send me back my money?

  3. Is he still alive?

Who knows, maybe there are safe and effective vaccines out there available to the well-connected. Wuhan flu doesn’t seem to kill anybody who was genuinely wasting space.

  4. I’d rather be boiled in liquid fecal matter, than listen to that twits music. He only had one song that had any musical entertainment which was After the Gold Rush, and it was done better by numerous others.

  5. Bye-bye Mr. Young! We can listen to your old crap anytime we want (all pirated by the way). Joe Rogan is a much bigger star than you.

    1. That’s what I was thinking. Michael Jackson and the Beatles catalog, etc. Now there can be PR fallout from a label not respecting the talent’s wishes, even if the wishes aren’t enforceable; the fans might revolt or the talent might refuse to work with the label again, costing them future revenue. I don’t see either at play in this case.

  6. Too late for the Old man, he’s rockin’ the free world now– hasn’t he heard the expression “all sales are final?”

  7. Neil Young is an old hypocrite. He rails against the oil industry in general and the oil sands in particular, all the while he has a collection of classic muscle cars!

Stopped listening to his music years ago.

  8. This isn’t Young’s first beef with Spotify, he complained about the sound quality of his music on their platform some time ago.
Imagine possessing the artistic ability to discern the acoustic resonance of a cat filled bag. It’s the kind of thing that has Yo Yo Ma kicking his Cello to the corner and saying “Eff this shit…he’s on a whole other level”.
Anyways, my loathing for Young and his 60’s ilk isn’t a secret. They conned a whole generation with their “stick it to the man” bullshit but truth be told they were all totalitarian commie pricks from the get go, but impressionable youngsters lapped up their free love, free speech and anti-war grift.

I used to chalk up Dave McGowan’s book “Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon: Laurel Canyon, Covert Ops & the Dark Heart of the Hippie Dream” as conspiratorial nonsense.
I’m beginning to have second thoughts.
Here’s to hoping Spotify gives Young a righteous spanking.

    1. Before I finished reading your comment I thought I should post a link to McGowans book. I’m glad you have read it and mentioned it.
I’ll ad this. That book is on my reccomended must read list. What I try to tell everyone who can listen is that our so called “culture” is contrived somwhere and diseminated through advertising, marketing , and entertainment. Its all synthetic culture……………….brought to you by Shizer Pharmacueical. I have mostly stopped listening to electrified music and hate it when I go to Home Depot or other big box and have to listen to over amplified s**t . I also hate that the s**t song stays in my head.

    2. I haven’t cared for the sound quality of his music on any platform ever.
It never occurred to me to complain about it though.

  9. Neil Young, a lacky of Big Pharma. I never thought I’d see the day. He has been the biggest asshole in rock-lite music for 65 years. Why stop now?

    1. But he’s a celebrity. I’m sure he knows just as much about the safety of vaccines as Alec Baldwin knows about the safe handling of firearms.

  10. Wasn’t he one of the wingnuts crying out how ashamed he was of the oil sands and demanded that they be shut down? Sanity & he parted company a long time ago. He prefers to inhibit la-la-lefty-land.

  11. He’s wealthy and therefore thinks he’s privileged. Why, he’s the son of a politician like you know who, they all think they’re Princes…or Princesses.

    1. Hi Nancy…Not sure that Neil Young’s dad was a politician but I do know that he was an author of many books. He also used to be a sports writer for the Toronto Star back in the sixties . He lived to be pretty old … seems to have accomplished much in his time though I have never read any of his books.

      Cheers

  12. This is a massive, colossal, hate campaign against one guy got well without the vax.
The media cartel and the big pharma can’t handle that, so they recruit every well-known junkie to help to fume the hysteria that has been on the waning side.
Got to keep it up and the money coming in.

Todays ruling class is so brainwashed and depraved, they can’t see past their damned noses.

No doubt there are those among them that completely disagree, they just can’t admit it in public forum, see what happened to the guy on the ‘real time’. And he is 99% on their side.

  13. I’ve seen the vaccine and the damage done … a little part of it in everyone. And every old rocker’s like the setting sun.

    1. I sing this song because I love the man,
But some of you may not understand…..

Well, Neil, we understand now, you stupid has been.
      Go lay down.
Or take your gas guzzling old Chevy for a spin. Long may she run.

  14. I was never a fan of Neil Young, not criticizing his talent, his music was just never my taste.

But, I have great empathy for those who love his music but have become disgusted with the man. I don’t generally listen to music based on the artist’s political views, but I have long ‘feared’ that any of my favorite music-makers would come out as ultra-leftarded and I would feel compelled to abandon them. This happened to me with Robert De Niro, who I can’t stand to watch on screen any more. I no longer see the great characters he brought to life, but only the angry, bitter, hate-filled actor behind them. I’ve tried, but Goodfellas, Bronx Tale, Ronan, Casino, etc, are no longer watchable to me.

Neil Young would be nothing more than just another “crazy old fuck that lives down the street”, if not for his fame. I couldn’t care less what he thinks about Rogan or Spotify.

    1. This is exactly how I feel about Pink Floyd, when I learned that Roger Waters is a raging anti-semite. I just can’t listen to them anymore.
      Ditto Tom Hanks.

  15. Get ready for Pharm Aid concerts to pop up. Maybe David Crosby can regale us with woeful tales how if it wasn’t for Pfizer he’d likely be jumping the line again for a second liver.

  16. In the words of Lynyrd Skynyrd, “Well I hope Neil Young will remember/Spotify don’t need him around anyhow.”
    –Stolen from AOSHQ

  17. Neil Young

My cat sings better than that mewling bitch.. An irrelevant useless bit of 70’s doped pinhead.

No one is listening to you.
    That’s all.

  18. I remember when he didn’t want to shill for Pepsi or Budweiser but now he’s good to go with Pfizer and Big Pharma? Neil Young is not what you call a deep thinker. Keep on rocking in the free world indeed!

  19. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!! How awesome. Go back to making trash music in your horse barn you smooth brained old grifter.
    From his latest song “Canerica”
I am all colors, all colors is what I am
Stand beside my brother for freedom in this land
Out on the range, I see the changes comin’ to this country
I am all colors, all colors is what I am

Quite the wordsmith…move over Tennyson, you’ve got company.

And yeah, Neil is all about the “freedom”. Ask anyone.
Sell your B.S. someplace else, we’re all stocked up here.

  20. Looks to me like Neil put out the call for his fans to rise up in support… only for them to continue their afternoon nap.

Reality. His fans have to get their grandchildren to explain Spotted Fly to them and want to know why Neal is so upset about curry.
