Narrative collapse

Remember when Australia was touted in the MSM as a shining example of successful Covid policy which had wrestled the virus to the ground thereby allowing life to continue normally? You don’t read stories like that anymore, mostly because much has changed Down Under in the last eight months!

Australia now averages more than 100,000 new Covid cases per day – equal to about 1.5 million in the United States. One fine day last week, it reported 175,000, the equivalent of about 2.5 million, maybe the highest per-capita total any country has ever reported.

Deaths are still relatively low by American standards. But they have risen sixfold in the last two weeks and are now at their highest level ever, equal to almost 700 deaths in the United States a day.

  1. It’s the tennis dude.
    Typhoid Whatshisnameovic.

Is there nothing that professional tennis can’t destroy?

  2. Or they flattened the curve and when Covid did hit, many treatments are now vailable and don’t forget about vaccines

    Florida: 21.3 m population
    63,000 Covid deaths

    Almost 3,000 per million

    Australia: 26.0 m population
    2,700 Covid deaths

    103 deaths per million

          1. What kind of a fool thinks that “working” is measured by how much they make people suffer (and die) instead of reduction in all-cause mortality?

……. Maybe the kind who thinks that non-Covid deaths don’t matter, regardless of how big the butcher’s bill.

          2. Australia’s stated goal was zero covid. The enormity of the failure can be matched against that for starters and for lulz

          3. So where is the line for you Alan? I don’t think you have one.

What would government have to do to make you stop and think “this is too much”

      1. Which is where Omicron is right now around the world. And the infection fatality is a fraction of that. The problem for Australia is that few have natural immunity and they are now dependent on failing “vaccines”.

        1. And Aus is following the same path as other highly jabbed countries.

The higher the jab rate, the higher the infection rate.

Quid Pro Quo. The vaxxes result in Negative Efficacy. ADE. This was predicted by GVB, Malone and Yeadon. They have been right every step of the way.

Next, a human version of Marek’s disease. It’s going to be BAD for everybody. Just when things are looking really good later this year. Maybe it’s going on right now, as there’s a breakout in China of a strange hemorrhagic fever.

Dr. Robert Malone Warns Of ‘Ebola-Like Hemorrhagic Fever’ Super Virus In China Caused By Mutations Due To Mass Vaccination

          1. Yes. I am also concerned about that. The story of Marek’s disease is very messed up, and yet our rulers seem to be purposely doing that exact procedure/protocol/f-ed up response, on billions of uninformed people! A mistake? or A sinister plan to make life itself a subscription service? (cue Twilight Zone music here. 🙂 )

      2. Allan, buzz off. The hyperinflation of Covid deaths in the US is coming out now, it was a political tool used by the permanent state to eliminate the threat of Trump. It’s not how many die, but who counts the bodies. Even in different states, what qualifies as a Covid death varies greatly, so those numbers are useless. Excess mortality would be one measure to look at, although as the Indiana Life insurer disclosed, non Covid mortality is up 40%. i wonder what caused that /sarc. Maybe vaxxes and all the other ills brought on by the attempt to control Covid, like suicide, undetected cancer, etc. etc. This will go down as the greatest failure in history by governments all over the western world. I only want to live long enough to see the death penalty brought back, and Trudeau, Tam, Henry and a bunch more at the end of a rope.

        1. Don’t forget to add Hinshaw and Moore to that list. The Quebec health officer resigned a day or two before Legault announced his anti-anti-vax “contribution.” I am wondering if he finally saw the writing on the wall.

I just learned something tonight about “doctor” Moore. Apparently, he’s on Pfizer’s payroll as a member of Pfizer’s Lyme Disease Advisory Board. Is this true? And if so, why are we still listening to this guy???

How do you spell “conflict of interest” again?

    1. Florida is out the far side.
We – Australia – are nowhere near being out the far side.

We still cannot have an honest conversation with our Doctors about those alternative treatments.
We cannot have those treatments prescribed.
The official recommendation for treatment is Paracetamol and throat lozenges…. until you need hospital.

We now have a level of national debt that is going to restrict our ability to pay for all of the services that keep people healthy, for decades. We have destroyed our economy without regard for the fact that the economy is what pays for everything that keeps people fed, clothed, sheltered and healthy.

      Stupidity has consequences.

      1. Oh and Allan? “Flattening the curve” was BASED on reduction of the number of cases, not getting lucky by having a less-lethal variant come along right about the time that the inevitable failure of lockdowns and restrictions occurred.

        We have been lied to.
We didn’t have to wait two years to know that restrictions would inevitably fail.
We didn’t have to wait this long to know that there were effective early treatments – the first indication that Ivermectin had anti-viral properties came from research in one of our Universities.

Trust in our Government and institutions has been destroyed. Our laws have been ignored. Our Parliaments have been rendered ineffective by executive dictat.
Anyone who thinks that the only cost is measured in “Case Fatality Rates” is a fool.

        1. Worse than that Peter.

Flattening the curve was never about reducing TOTAL numbers, it was about spreading them out over a longer period so the hospitals didn’t have to deal with them all at once.

Even our lies are now lies.

          Sigh.

          1. Mudcrab….
Yep…. back when the MODELS said that EVERYONE was equally vulnerable and 3% of us were going to die…..

We knew that that wasn’t the case by the end of April 2020 but the strategy never changed.

Oh….. and after nearly two years, some of the states that were making the most noise about the hospitals being “overwhelmed”, now have fewer ICU beds and have been sacking qualified, experienced medical staff for no accepting a vaccine that is known to not prevent spread.

        2. The problem with Case Fatality Rates is that it’s (deaths)/(cases) – but we know the case counts are ridiculously inflated by a useless PCR test. So the CFR for the Chinese Lung AIDS is likely much, much higher than we think, but the odds of catching it in the first place is much, much lower.

      2. My concern for Australia is that the level of natural immunity in the country is relatively low. That means (as the “vaccines” are proving to be losing any potency they had – at least in their “testing”) Australians may be sitting ducks. Kind of like sitting in a boat with low freeboard and a wave coming at you……you might be dry now but….

        1. Art…
It will no doubt move through the population in the same way that it has in other countries.
We have purchased a delay – nothing more – at enormous expense.

What IS likely to happen, is a bad influenza season next winter, due to the population-wide lack of exposure to that disease over the last two years. The worry for many of us is that – having established an expectation that the Government will “do something” to keep us safe – panic-merchants and admirers of dictatorship (like Allan S.) will howl for more restrictions.

  3. American deaths should be higher. They are fatter. It’s a designer virus aimed directly at fat boomers.

    1. And older, Australia median age 37, Florida 42. Probably significant given Covid predominantly kills old people.

  4. Let’s not forget the Olympics are coming. What new China Virus will be unleashed this February?

  5. (from the linked article)
“Doughnut day” – this is our Australian tax dollars at work, blowing smoke up the blunt end of (Hard Left) State Premier Dan Andrews…

Been looking at the numbers on the ‘dashboard’ from my home state. Some of it is utter pointless. We can get official daily updates on infringement notices, but can’t get a breakdown of Vax/Not Vax for the Cases.

(which basically means the majority of Cases are Vaxed if you read between the lines)

What is interesting is that we get some ‘massive’ (for us at least as Delta and Prime turned out to be complete jokes – “Three new cases! This is bad!”) new daily cases and have been so since late Dec.

However the current total of ‘Active’ cases is, relative to the daily case rate, relatively low. The strong implication here is that while lots of new people were being added at the front, a similar number were being removed at the back.

I did some shallow diving into the published stats on Friday and Monday just past. Bit tricky is the day by day total active case numbers for previous dates aren’t immediately available so I have only been able to do spot checks.

However on both those days the number of Active Cases was pretty much equal to the total new cases of the previous 8 days. Now since the total hospital and ICU are under 1% and 0.1% respectively the implication is that 99% of ‘Cases’ are allowed to ‘Home Cure’.

I seriously doubt these Home Cure people are being monitored closely which does suggest that after 8 days the authorities are simply assuming you are healthy again.

    Farce.

  6. Also, calling it now.

South Australia has elections in March this year.

The current Government of Steve Marshmellow will suddenly dump nearly all Covid restriction around about the 3rd week of February in order to remind the voters that he and his Government were the Bestest Ever! at keeping the voters safe and NOW was the time to enjoy our reward.

COVID = Politics and has been that way since April 2020.

  7. IMO.. The “not a vaccine” is clearly failing the elderly and the 50/50 split between the younger vaxxed and unvaxxed has more to do with other health problems than the “not a vaccine”.. We cant continue to measure everything by a “not a vaccine” that’s failing our most vulnerable..

Everything else is noise and you know it..

    1. Yup….the data out of the UK shows that BY FAR, the deaths are in the age group +70 and fully “vaccinated”

  8. All this will give bureaucrats an excuse to again move the goalposts. They don’t want to give up their new self declared powers.

    1. I like that phrase….”the public health bureaucrats are the trailer park and we are the tornado”.

  9. The only measurement that matters is Grandma and Grandpa.. Our government and their vaccines and mandates have failed them.. Full f@#$ing stop.. A near 100% failure as of late..

You simply can not fail them (our most vulnerable) and then turn around and say your joy juice is helping younger people when the survival rate is 99.7%+.. If your healthy..

The vaccine cant fail the old and help the young.. How is this even possible knowing what we know..

  10. Decisions have consequences.

State health services are no complaining that they are suffering from staff shortages while trying to deal with current hospitalisation levels. These are the same health services that have sacked experienced staff – some of whom already have natural immunity, for refusing the jab.

These are the same health services that are sending staff into isolation, because they are “contacts”, regardless of their lack of infectivity. It was the theory that asymptomatic people were infectious, that was used to justify lockdowns. Now the same theory is denying health-care to the sick.

It’s time this harmful, destructive narrative was abandoned.

  11. Just remember ALL the numbers are bullshit.

    Cases = bullshit

    Deaths = bullshit

Are the hospitals in fact full? No

Are there more deaths now than there typically would be in the course of time? No

Why does ANYONE (except the insane) give credence to ANYTHING coming out of the Peoples Propaganda Ministry?

    1. People are finally catching up to those of us who were correct in our fraud assessment from the get go.

  12. Sorry, some of us have been paying attention to the Aussie facts behind the BSMSM curtain for some time now

    https://www.watoday.com.au/politics/western-australia/like-running-an-engine-at-high-revs-why-are-wa-s-hospitals-in-crisis-and-how-did-we-get-to-this-point-20210408-p57hhf.html

Look down at the bottom for “WAtoday reporting on the state of the WA health system over the past months”

And what would we do without Health Departments:

August 2020: COVID prepared? WA’s health department won’t bow to concerns over ambulance ramping

“Western Australia’s Health Department has dismissed concerns that hospitals would be unable to cope with a second wave of coronavirus, saying emergency departments were equipped with trained staff and patients were being triaged from ambulances quicker than previous years.”

Narrator: Hospitals were, in fact, unable to cope with a second wave of coronavirus.
