People who work in the Canadian health care sector constantly complain about being overworked and understaffed.  Despite what the people in charge say they seem quite happy and willing to continue downsizing. 

VICTORIA — B.C.’s health minister called Tuesday a “solemn day” as 4,090 health care workers missed the deadline for mandatory COVID-19 vaccination and were placed on unpaid leave before they could potentially lose their job.

Montreal- The Lachine Hospital will be closing its emergency room overnight starting Nov. 7, the McGill University Health Centre confirmed on Monday. “ER will be opened from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days a week. The ICU will also close,” said MUHC spokesperson Gilda Salomone.

As this is going on it looks like The Epoch Times is the only outfit willing to actually talk to the people getting canned.

  2. It’s an underhanded way to reduce health care expenditures. Next budget update, look for the ‘what a great job we did managing health care costs’ pat on their own back.

It should be a criminal offense to order someone to get an experimental drug that isn’t approved for use. All of them should be facing trials, charged with violating the human rights of citizens.

    1. Yes. I am pretty sure they are. Provinces are being put under pressure by the Feds to go with things like vaccine mandates. Dumb Doug Ford still keeps thinking they are temporary. I believe that is how they talked him into capitulating.

  7. AHS is one of the most top heavy bureaucracies on the planet. More money is spent on administrative functions than actual healthcare. A great get rich quick scheme if you can get in as a manager.

    1. Agreed. I have heard that from more than a few working in Alberta’s health care system. The waste (as in every government department) is huge.

      When they re-open in the morning, whoever is still alive gets re-admitted to ICU.

  10. Solemn day? That was the day the first mandate came out and people didn’t riot. Another solemn day was when “passports” started being announced and people didn’t revolt. 4,000+ health workers refusing to bow to medical tyranny is a wonderful day! God bless them and reward them for holding on to their principles.

      Dix said he hopes they “ will see the light” and get jabbed.

  15. Ah, yes our much vaunted “Free” Health Care system. I have survived two major surgeries for Cancer in the last three years. The last one in 2020 when the surgery was cancelled as I lay prepped and ready on the gurney at the door of the op. theatre. Sent home, and not contacted for over three months. Quick Op then out the door in a week, only to be re admitted four days later in worse shape than before, they damn near killed me. Now an MRI shows something amiss. Oncologist refers for more surgery and last week I received a confirmation. The date March 22nd. 2022. Guess I will just sit around and relax while I wait and see if other parts of my anatomy deteriorate. And they want to lay off hundreds and hundreds of staff.

    1. I’m sorry to hear about what happened. I can understand some of your concerns.

      Last year, I was scheduled for a biopsy near the end of May and finally had it two months later. The wait was bad enough, but trying to find out when the procedure could be rescheduled was quite frustrating. The clinic which made the appointment had no idea what the facility that actually performed the biopsy was doing and the latter wouldn’t do anything until it got a request from the former. For several weeks, I had to play medical bureaucracy ping-pong.

      And now the system wants to sack all those who refuse the jab. Never mind they worked through last year without it…..

  17. The reaction of the province is like a scene from Atlas Shrugged where the productive quit their jobs as the ultimate withdrawal of moral sanction from career conditions that they judge to be intolerable and are berated by the parasite class for doing so.

    Should these workers finally buckle under and agree to the jab, do the authorities see no downside to having a lot of unhappy, angry employees on the payroll?

  19. How will the medical community position the “narrative” around “antibody dependent enhancement”? As ADE is coming down the pipe, and a lot of old vaccinated people are going to die, does the medical community want to admit they saw this coming and did nothing? Or, do they want to tear families apart by saying Grandma and Grandpa died because the little kids didn’t get vaccinated?

    Never mind that unvaccinated are not super-spreaders like the vaccinated. Never mind that unvaccinated are contagious for a few days during that first 2 weeks of incurring COVID.
