We should be used to that here in Canada. After all, didn’t PET tell us 40 years ago, particularly those of us who couldn’t find work because of the NEP and its aftermath, to “lower” our “expectations”?
Meanwhile, his backside, and that of the future Dear Leader, were safe, warm, and well-cushioned. At least he had his priorities right, didn’t he?
My workplace was safety to death by regulations imposed and training imposed that didn’t exist before.
Quite the propaganda piece from a Demarxist urinalist.
The problem IS the Demarxist party and it’s idiots, intentionally crushing America.
Enjoy the toilet bowl Chow Xiden!
I’m curious about the Eurodollar.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GwjR7yRGGs
I’m curious how Evergrande will affect the Eurodollar market. I assume it shouldn’t, but who knows? Would Canada’s move to central bank digital currencies impact Canadian banking’s involvement in the Eurodollar? Where is the tipping point?
Naturally the US can whip the eurodollar market around with changes in interest rates. That could detonate many countries banking systems if not managed properly. Stagflation mitigation is going to be interesting.
Freedom is slavery, huh?
Take this woman’s latte away and watch what happens.
Judging from her picture, likely a latte with a double cheeseburger and fries. Take the burger away and really watch her tune change.
Indeed!
I suspect tomes describing her micro-aggressions.
A Death by Chocolate socialist.
Don’t forget the champagne!
Hey, ya gotta wash down your cake with something.
Fine!
Mineral water!
Because of shortages, we all have to bear it.
Once again, it’s the pandemic’s fault, not the goverenments’ responses to the pandemic. The pandemic didn’t go shutting businesses and putting people out of work.
This guy sounds like the fluffer for Ming the Merciless in the Flash Gordon movie. When Ming offers Flash the chance to rule Earth, there’s a catch. Ming intends to use disaster and terror to soften up Earth’s population:
Ming: Your moon is very close now. Earth’s end might come within hours.
Flash: You’d call off the attack?
Ming: l could.
Flash: Everyone would be saved?
Ming: Yes, and no. After the earthquakes and tidal waves, they won’t be the same human beings. They’ll be more tractable. Easier for you to rule, in the name of Ming.
Flash: You mean slaves?
Ming: Let’s just say, they’ll be satisfied with less.
That’s the progressives’ plan for all of us. They’ll turn us into beggars, ’cause they’re easier to please. And the MSM, happy footsoldiers of the progtards that they are, will do everything in their power to make us feel ashamed for thinking we deserve more. Serfs, not citizens.
Government is our servant, not our master. It’s supposed to serve at our pleasure, and is to be dismissed if it fails to do so. Elected officials are not supposed to be our rulers, and journalists are not supposed to be their court jesters/praetorian guard.
Something has gone terribly wrong throughout the West.
If people could just lower their expectations enough, Biden would seem like a good president.
So it’s all merely a perception problem.
I mean goddam it, how much longer are Americans going to have endure a two-party system where the government has to concern itself with crybabies mewling about empty store shelves? When the Democrats are the sole party, they’ll tell you to shut up and you will shut up.
Jimmy Carter’s 1979 “Malaise Speech” x10.
Pray there is another RR out there.
Pray there is another RR out there.
There was one. His name was Donald Trump.
Very few among the American leadership remember a time or place where they couldn’t count on getting what they thought they wanted when they wanted it.
The Chinese leadership do remember when they and theirs were literally starving to death, just so Mao Zedong’s bitch (a title Jiang Qing wore with pride) could play at being empress and get her own back on the Shanghai showbiz people who said she was ugly and couldn’t act.
No prizes for guessing which team has its priorities straight.
The Dragon reckons he’s been hungry long enough. And he plans to feast on the Eagle’s fat carcass.
Translation: Be satisfied with whatever the current administration gives you. Anything else is selfish.
One little problem: the affluent can always afford the necessities. They might have to delay buying a new sportscar, but there’s always plenty of food on the table. The poor not so much.
The poor? Who are they, anyway?
Poor? What is that? Are you implying that there are people who don’t have multi-million dollar houses, 5 luxury vehicles, a condo in Bermuda, and 6 household servants? How could such a thing be?
Once again, using Atlas Shrugged as a how-to instead of a cautionary tale.
I remember way back in the inflation-riddled 1970s, during the four Carter years, when the U.S. government ran a monotonous TV ad telling people not to be “greedy”. American greed according to the Democrats was the cause of the stagflation back then.
