      1. Rd- the thing of it is is, that Rockford was one of the greatest shows of all time. It’d be hard for me to pick my favorite episode- the ones with Tom Selleck as Lance White, the perfect detective, “Drought at Indianhead River”, where Angel is set up by the mob as a patsy in a real estate scam; but perhaps if pressed I’d vote for the two-parter featuring Dennis Dugan as Richie Brockelmann, “Never Send a Boy King to Do a Man’s Job”, a “ big con” episode. Also in the cast: Robert Webber and Harold Gould.

        Most of my admittedly sketchy knowledge of Southern California comes from watching Rockford, Jack Webb shows, and listening to Mothers of Invention and Warren Zevon records:

        1. In my teenage years, Rockford Files was a show that my mother and I watched together regularly,… along with Emergency, Columbo, McMillan and Wife, etc. Those were still the days when California held a special magic and was considered a “nirvana” that any middle-class peon could make their fame and fortune in.

          My very first day living in Calgary, I received a ticket for doing a “Rockford 180”. I will never, ever forget what the cop told me when he handed me the ticket… “Now don’t you consider going back to B.C. without paying this because this province has a lot of money and we’ll come get you.” No shit, that was in 1980.

    1. The Rockford turnaround was something we all aspired to execute, but were too chicken to attempt. Most of us, anyway.

      1. If I remember correctly, she babbled on about “a single hand clapping”, not really knowing what it was. She did eventually find out when someone slapped her face.

        It’s too bad they don’t make TV shows like that any more.

    This was very predicable when the app was first suggested over a year ago, now mandated or no strata insurance for me unless I comply with this ridiculous app, as per the condo message, so I have it all linked in and likely working. I am trying to be co-operative, so thought it best to have a bit of humour.

    No one ever listened to my rather sensible opinion that this app will cause more problems than it is worth.
    There is no problem with water flow or pressure in my home, so absolutely no intervention is needed here.

    I just used the washing machine, sink, dishwasher, and have not even had my shower yet and my housekeeper is still using water to do floors etc. And few days ago, the water pressure was deemed high by Flo and one owner thought we should call a plumber. Now pressure apparently ok, but usage is Moen Flo crucial~ as I have unusual activity!

    Dear Flo App: I am not a predicable water user. Sorry Flo, I was not here much on the weekend, as I had birthday parties and did not run the dishwasher in the evening, as I had alternative activities. Sometimes, I leave the country, so good luck for your fancy AI tech to predict what people like me, without many predicable routines, will do.

    1. In observance of the centenary of the sinking, the PBS station out of Spokane (which we get here in Alberta) broadcast a documentary of the event.

      It was noted during that show that one reason so many passengers survived was because the stokers kept the ship’s boilers fired for as long as possible, even though they knew they likely wouldn’t make it.

Blacklock reports that the Liberals in response to the George Floyd scam, spent almost one hundred and fifty thousand dollars to see if police traffic stops were biased. No evidence of that was found, and most of those stopped admitted they were in the wrong and didn’t experience any bias.

    2. The interesting thing is that police in the George Floyd case were responding to a call of someone trying to pass counterfeit money. Not your normal racial bias case. They found a man severely impaired by a later proven to be a lethal dose of fentanyl. They would have been negligent to walk away.

    1. Watch your belts. I got a milder version of that from a belt that was pressing on lower spine in just the wrong way. Fortunately I figured it out and got rid of the belt but you do not want this.

    2. So never trust a fart..How about the old man who went to the doctor. Doctor everyday i have a bowel movement at 8am. Doc says but that is good news. Old man says but Doc i never wake up until 9am.

  13. The over 100,000 federal public servants in Ottawa are spending their new, paid holiday today by jamming into stores, and shopping for anything and everything. What better way to reflect on the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

    After the Indian Industry, lead by the Chiefs, they are the biggest beneficiaries of this latest, and very expensive, virtual signaling by the Dear Leader.

Yesterday, the staff (over 90% female; no gender equity here) at the Ottawa Public Library wore their orange t-shirts (paid for by taxpayers) in recognition of the National Day for Truth And Reconciliation, which is actually today. Will they also wear them today? Who knows. The staff are enjoying a new, paid holiday today and all the libraries are closed.

  22. A Final Warning To Humanity From Mike Yeadon former VP of Pfizer.
    This needs to be shared everywhere. He gave this warning earlier and it has been suppressed.

    Watching it again with what I have learned since, it makes more sense and seems more reasonable since hospitals started firing a serious percentage of their total medical staff allegedly during a pandemic. Which makes as much sense as firing the bucket handlers on a leaky boat. Dr. Yeadon makes more sense now. Covid policies like firing medical staff does not.

    Watch it again and see if it makes more sense now than it did.

    Thank you for that list. I am not on Twitter, but I try to follow many of your choices using the web version.
    Twitter’s search function regularly loses their accounts. Example: Jack Posobiec, a month ago I could not find his account using the search function. Tanya Tay Posobiec, parodyPosobiec, all the others showed up, just not the very, very popular Jack Posobiec. Then a week later he suddenly re-appeared in the search lists. Same with Kurt Schlichter and Andy NGO.

  24. Trudeau pontificating on this new holiday, Truth and Reconciliation Day, basically called this a racist country, meaning the people past and present I assume, guess that would include himself.
    One thing for sure he and his government have done nothing on the Indigenous file beyond the usual promises that never materialize.

    We cannot change history, we cannot apologize for actions of those who went before us but we can learn from it.

    1. Pretty hard to move forward when our government selects a small piece of history to stay in the past to make us guilty for others actions as we keep paying even more ‘reparations’ that were not of our doing.
      Media and politicians always remind us of the babies and children but fail to show the history behind these cemeteries where more than just native children are buried.

        1. I’m about half-way through the video and I have to agree with his comments about research funding. Independence of thought or even originality is discouraged and punished by lack of financing.

          I mentioned that I had a dental appointment last week and I had a run-in with one of the staff who, I’ve since gathered, was the office administrator. When I said that farcical behaviour such as masking is based on a scientific fallacy (which Dr. Yeadon confirmed, and he is more knowledgeable about the matter than I am), she barked at me that it was an “opinion”.

          By the way, I regret to say that she still had her job when I returned to the clinic for some follow-up work earlier this week.
