    1. I am seeing an opportunity for a private school that caters to the unvacvinated. Having said that, the Catholic schools are supported by taxes and they are not in a position to boot out anyone. If they do, taxpayers should withdraw funding.

    1. Last year, I still went to the university student clinic for dental work. I had to go through a similar farce just to get into the building.

      First, I had to wear a brand new mask, but I wasn’t allowed to pick it up until I thoroughly slathered my hands with the sanitizing goo. Then I was permitted to put it on (forget the fact that I already had one–one can’t be too careful, you know), after which I had to–wait for it!–smear those horrid chemicals all over my hands again.

      The first time I grumbled about that (which, last year, still wasn’t a criminal offence), the medical thingy told me “I’m working for you and for me.” Uh, no, madame, you aren’t. I didn’t interview you, I didn’t hire you, and I’m not signing your paycheques–you’re not working for me.

      As for Dear Deena, I’ve long suspected that she’s a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

    1. There’s an interplay of forces and goals here. The health care system is a state monopoly in this country. And the unions have a monopoly of state workers and they want to dictate policy, instead of the elected government. So there is a lot of politics at play. But why can’t they find the ventilators? Not that they are much use, venitaltor -> hurse is the main pathway to grave it appears.

      But the elected government is also guilty; they are petrified the health care system will collapse, resulting in unelection. So they do the most stupid shit to prevent patients and blame the lack of hospital beds on Covid.

      And, of course, efficiency drives always result in a higher chief to indian ratio as the sharp end of nurses and doctors gets axed. The bureaucrats are responsible too.

      And another way to take the strain of Covid off health care is to allow physicians to provide inexpensive home treatments at initial diagnosis; als stop using the PieceofCRap test as a diagnosis tool. You’ll be surprised how quickly all the numbers will drop and the cold and flu season will re-appear.

      Maybe it’s time to find another way of organizing and paying for health care. I am ranting now, because innocents like me are suffering because of the Blarney Science and also bloody well paying for it in my taxes.

  16. How soon we forget? When disinfecting wipes first came out, there was a lot of discussion about their efficacy, and the problems of long term use. Here is an example of school guidelines.

    And yet here, after minimal personal contact, we have the Chief Health Officer (and despite her medical degree, I use that term advisedly and with reservation) slathering antiseptic or antibacterial disinfectant on her hands repeatedly as an example of what the public should be doing (by extension) for an illness with a fatality rate (in her age group) that is less than the seasonal flu. And how long do you think it will be that some other illness, not killed by all of the crap that is being used on every public surface across the country breaks through to become a real problem for which there will be no antibiotics? Like Candida Auris, as an example.

    1. The disinfecting tissues were one of the most irritating aspects of flying. Upon entering the plane, passengers are issued them, either by themselves (as was the case with WestJet) or as part of a “care package” (courtesy of Air Canada–which one reason why flying AC is so frightfully expensive).

      I sat down and quickly got rid of it. However, there were people who used theirs and wiped down absolutely everything within the vicinity of their seat. Those passengers should be issued barrels of disinfectant, which they can pour out all over themselves before sitting down–just to make sure that they’re “safe”, of course.

      I, of course, don’t do that when I drive my truck to my house in B. C. It makes me wonder what those who drive with a mask do.

  23. Sanitize, remove your mask, sanitize again, put on a new mask and then sanitize your hands is standard procedure for anyone working in AHS facilities. I have to do it every time I arrive at an AHS site. Usually have five or six disposable masks in my truck by the end of a day.
