  2. Anyone in this country come to the realization that we are screwed? These fools think that prosperity just happens, well, it doesn’t. I could spend days writing a thesis on many things but so far I have found that most people don’t understand basic critical thinking or logic. I have witnessed this lack in Canada for decades now and that is why we are where we find ourselves.

    1. OWG These people are not fools; they are ideologs who think there shouldn’t be prosperity because it leads to inequality and injustice and CO2 burning the planet up. Only they know how to use wealth properly.

      1. Change your posting name to Don Quixote. High ideals but no practical impact except to make Trudeau’s election more likely. Job 1 is getting rid of Trudeau. Max can say anything to a fringe but will not even get his own seat, while O’Toole has to appeal to a broad spectrum. Last election the PPC was assistance in turning about eight ridings to the libs. A good showing will guarantee a Trudeau as PM. If the 5% PPC voted conservative they would be polling close to the majority territory. Your all or nothing stance is the best news Trudeau could ask for.

    2. Corruption has been ingrained in our governance by our corrupted politicians who freely flaunt laws, restrictions and regulations that they create and impose on the rest of us. In a fair and free society, you don’t promote and regulate who has special privileges over others.
      You must be okay with this corruption but I’m not.
      And your statement means…oh, a little lying is fine as our current one is massively over regulated and unfair.
      The PPC are the only party not willing to keep this mess of status quo in keeping a broken system going, even though it is a train wreck when reality bites back.

      The PPC should re-purpose a lot of the useless federal spending on things like “attracting women into the trucking industry” to a massive de-programming campaign.

      1. Just returned from voting for the PPC candidate in my riding … I live in a riding that has been overwhelmed by middle eastern “immigration” so the PPC chances of winning are slim to none, thats wht happens when you import “new” voters that don’t have a clue about Canada nor care.
        Most likely the Communist Party of China’s Liberal Party candidate will win… I’m in BC where the CCP own every leftist politician in the Province.
        Either way, I finally had someone to vote for, go Purple wave. Fuk Juthtin Turdhole and his NWO Basic Dictatorship, the same for OStool and Jughead too.

  5. All levels of government graft need to stop. I used to think they were just wastes of tax payer money, but they are also a path to pure evil authoritarianism. As greedy parasites become lazier and lazier they keep coming up with more ways to steal from and control people who look after themselves and contribute to society by actually working.

    Parasites need to be kicked off the gravy train. Journalists, politicians, welfare bums, govt grant artists, bureaucrats, NGOs, crony capitalists, etc etc etc.

  9. My neighbor’s 2700 sq ft house sold for 1.3 million. The problem is not that contractors don’t want to build homes, in fact they might flood the market wonderful ones, if allowed to.
    The reason for high house prices is fewer houses than people who want them. Governments have fueled the crisis by easing mortgage rules, allowing the buyers, who are preferred at the moment, to drive themselves deeper into financial risk to outcompete the other bidders.
    There is no need for governments to build affordable (slum) housing – all they need to do is get out of the way. If Vancouver’s attempts to deal with their homeless problem, these affordable houses will, in fact, be very expensive.

    1. It took 2 years for Canada to add 1 million people to the total population. The least amount of time in history. (From 36-37 million. I think Covid might have slowed reaching 38 million which we are now over).
      The housing shortage fire’s partly because of immigration fuel.

      1. A large part of the housing crisis is due to divorce. 1/2 the households are cut in 1/2. Sometimes they eventually merge with other households, and then do it over again. Do the math on that.

    1. Clearly, they want tight supply and high prices because these proposals will do everything to constrain supply and raise prices.

      If demand isn’t going to be addressed then an increase to supply is required. And to increase supply it must be made easier to profit from production.

  15. People can’t help who they were born to, it’s what they do in/with their lives that matters.
    In Trudeau’s case the always hungry for power Liberals chose Trudeau because of his name, not his ability.
    Trudeau chose to accept, that was his choice and the voters of Canada went for him, hook, line and sinker, emphasis now on sinker.
    If we choose him again we are boarding the same sinking boat, complaining will not save us, in a democracy we do it to ourselves.

  17. I’ve been speculating (if you’ll excuse the pun) about HOW they might do it.
    Remember the introduction of the Old Age Pension clawback – a pay back of a percentage of the amount above a threshold: $55,000 if memory serves. There wasn’t much of an outcry as the threshold was ingeniously set to effect a very small number of seniors. Hence no outcry. There was eventually some outrage when financial pros complained that the threshold was not inflation-indexed so that more and more, and eventually all, seniors were caught. Only then was it inflation-indexed.

    Perhaps, then, the house sales tax might be introduced with a ownership time threshold set very low: a year, maybe just 6 months, as with the OAS clawback, effecting few people and hence generating little outrage. Then, of course, over time, this ownership period could be gradually ramped up capturing more and more homeowners.

    The trick being to get the new measure in place.

    The state will need your housing for New Canadians. If you are a senior empty nester better be prepared to “voluntarily” rent rooms to new Canadians. You don’t “need” that space in the same way you don’t “need” an AR or a truck or…

  20. Take a good look at kids sixteen and under.

    They will never know what it’s like to own a house or perhaps a car. They will be working menial jobs for little pay. Their wages will go into paying off debt and lining the coffers of the wealthiest oligarchs.

    Even if Canadians saw this, would they respond and vote accordingly?

    One would hope but …
