Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Well said Rex …as usual .
I hate to disagree with Rex, but there is an issue worth considering for this election: Whether Canadians will see their firearms confiscated by the government. Through lies, for ideological reasons.
*Golf Clap* Yaaaayyy!!!..Rex doesn’t like Trudeau. Fan fucking tastic! “The politics of Canada today is a game for the politicians, with some secondary amusement for the media”. Um…the media including the publication you write for accepts gobs of money from them yearly, so I’m not sure we’re ready to call it an “amusement” and in a weird roundabout way I’m helping to pay your salary. Weird huh? And you’ll notice as well how Rex doesn’t really weigh in on those issues that matters the most to Canadians. I wonder if it’s intentional? Naah.
And it’s all well and good that Rex and Conrad puts their two cents in occasionally to provide the conservative counterpoint only cause I know it puts the fish ‘n’ chips on their plate, but maybe…just maybe, it’s time to fish or cut bait.
Y’know… Canada and all.
“And you’ll notice as well how Rex doesn’t really weigh in on those issues that matters the most to Canadians.”
There are issues that matter to most Canadians? Seriously?
Certainly not serious issues like crippling public debt, disappearing freedoms, or the nutting of the economy.
Rex Murphy is national treasure.
He is a wordsmith who cannot be bought, unlike his colleagues.
But, please do continue with your disparaging remarks. They’re helpful.
Rex uses a 1000 words what could’ve been said in 50.
I doubt most here even read the column…likely scanned it and proclaimed it to be yet another Murphy masterpiece. Bravo.
It isn’t – He laments the sad decline of Democracy at the hands of contemptible cynical elites and brings in Nov.11 to drive the point home along with a few other things, so, really, nothing new there. But I’ll tell you what is new.
What he fails or rather what he doesn’t want to mention is that democracy got an even bigger kick to the nuts when the very same gov’t he pisses and moans about started cutting checks to an industry that puts the butter on his toast, and owned by the very same wealthy elites and who take turns insulting, disparaging and flat out threatening everyday Canadians who don’t toe the Liberal line. And all on our dime. Is this a great country or what?
Lying and shooting your mouth off is easy knowing the gov’t has your back when you can’t make your nut only because advertisers have found better platforms.
When the gov’t insert themselves financially into something where there should be an air gap as wide as the Grand Canyon while simultaneously seeking to monitor the internet and their dutiful print media lap dogs grind out the obligatory sternly worded letter or two in protest…turn out the lights. It’s over. There would be rioting in the streets had Harper proposed such a thing.
This country’s democracy died long before this election was called.
Solzhenitsyn said in over a million words what could have been said in a few, as well.
They offered him the Nobel Prize for it. Everyone remembers him. His words are as pertinent today as they were then.
But, please, your disparaging remarks and unnecessary capitalisation and use of dashes are helpful.
Solzhenitsyn said in over a million words what could have been said in a few, as well.
Him and a thousand other writers, so what’s your point? Unless you’re weirdly trying to put both of them on an equal footing.
And of course you had to resort to the “punctuation” and “dashes” slight -……….which I’m totally ok with only because those who fall back on those tried and tested insults means they don’t want to discuss substance.
Alright by me.
Anyone who shits on Juthtin is a good bird.
Does Shithead get shit on enuff?
Nope. There aren’t enuff birds in the sky.
Will Karma get Shithead?
We can only look to the sky and hope & pray.
I just remind people, at every opportunity, about WEST GREY POINT ACADEMY.
Where the Trudeau PEDOPHILE sexually helped himself to a minor… a STUDENT.
And the collossal FAILURE of the RED SERGE to investigate an dprosecute.
Rex is a clown/flunky. Back in the late ’90s he had a show about gun registration. Everything was orchestrated. Only the trained seals were allowed to comment. The end result was passive ambivalence.
Jamie M. nails it. Not one of those ‘Leaders’ has the cojones to say they’ll turn off the Money printing presses. Oh, and delete pretty much any and all new Gov’t agencies formed in the past five years, give or take.
Max would but ain’t gonna happen…
Trudeau despises the people who voted for him. As do the rest of us.
He impresses me as being a spoiled brat who doesn’t like himself very much.
Yet, like the fat girls who think they can do no better, they keep voting for him.
Trudeau despises the people who voted for him. As do the rest of us.
Substance, burton?
I would say that you should talk but you’ve said too much.
