      4. I thought that the media’s rescue of Turdope’s will be about them finding dirt on O’Foole.

        I must admit, I didn’t see this one coming. If the media can’t help Turdope by dissing O’Foole, then point fingers at the protestors (who presumably will not vote liberal) and give Turdope some sympathy points, while at the same time, show the low-life knuckle-draggers who would dare to protest dear leader for the sub-humans that they really are.

        And it just might work!

        The protesters are probably anti-vaxxers too, which should score a few more bonus brownie points… You know… two birds… and that sort of thing. Maybe it’ll show up on the protestors’ social credit rating, when Turdope implements that after he wins his majority.

        I agree with you about the reason for the cancellation. It may just work for Trudeau.The “hopelessly biased media” as you call them are active members of his election campaign, have been since at least 2015. The corporate media, that is. They will be owed a bunch more taxpayer money if they are able to carry his ass over the finish line.
        But, don’t try to suggest that people shouldn’t protest the man because his paid mouthpieces will try to turn it to his advantage. Protest has been a feature of free society for generations. Protest is loud, insulting and vulgar. As long as It is not violent.
        Stay away from violence and for every visible protester there are 50 people who haven’t done more than grouse about Trudeau around a kitchen table or a campfire. And they are watching Trudeau’s paid mouthpieces tell them they are bad people for agreeing with the protesters.
        I’ve noticed that the majority of the protesters seem to be under the age of 40. Isn’t that supposed to be Trudeau’s age demographic?

    1. I’m skeptical. I’ve been hearing the “within the next 5 years” since the late 1970s.

      The only experimental that I’ve heard about that came close to actually working was the fusor developed by a group led by the late Dr. Robert Bussard. That was about 15 years ago, but it lost its funding and I don’t think much has been done one it since then.

        1. Some projects are going back to the Theta pinch modes, rather than toroidal nagnets. Then there’s the inertial confiment methods. I think the one Bussard used was a charge confined method. All need intense magnetic fields so this story does represent good news.

            The advantage of that is that the device can be made considerably smaller than a tokamak. One reaction that’s been proposed for the fusor uses boron and protons. The result is helium as a reaction product without a neutron flux.

            What ever. She is carrying on a family tradition. She is 5′ 5″ i think and is carrying a pack almost as heavy as her at 9,000 ft elevation. Three of my older brothers were back country guides for Old Bud Brewster and knew him personally as a friend. I guess the tradition continues but not always as we might think.

  16. Well, Blackie McGroper and his band of miscreants have performed spectacularly poorly for the first 2 weeks of the Unnecessary Election 2021, and they are paying for it in spades. His commanding polling numbers have completely evaporated in this short period of time.

    Take the pollsters for what they are worth, but, the numbers are appalling if you are member of the TruGroper CULT!

    The latest Mainstreet/iPolitics poll has the Conservatives in a commanding lead: 36.8 per cent to the Liberals’ 31.4 per cent. The CPC is UP 17 points, and the CULT is DOWN 12. Max is at 4.3%, and the self-immolating Anti-Semites at 2.6%.

    Ipsos has decided that they wont publish their numbers, must be very discouraging for Team CULT, but they will publish a poll for the most likeable leader and guess what, ol Meethead comes out on top, surprise surprise. Who cares if hes an idiotic commie, he is so nice………………..

    While we have our issues with the CPC, certainly (I’m voting PPC), I hope these polls are truly reflective of the bad campaign by the CULT, its a short campaign, and once you lose the BIG MO, it is difficult to get it back. The CULT will use every slimy dirty sleazy trick, from here on out, here’s to them continuing to suffer from Terminal Foot in Mouth Disease. The CULTs demise will be sweet indeed!

    Big League Politics has reported on how women cannot reliably pass the combat fitness test even as the standards are reduced and the institution is cheapened to accommodate them:

    “Almost half of female soldiers have failed the weakened Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) in the first half of 2020, according to data that was released on Monday.

    In comparison, only seven percent of male soldiers failed the ACFT throughout the year. This is another stake through the heart of the Left’s equality lie.

    The ACFT consists of six different events, and the test has been changed since last year. Women are now allowed to skip the leg tucks, which had a 41 percent fail rate. Even though the test has been weakened, 44 percent of women still failed the test in the first half of the year.

  21. The heroic team started with the goal to rescue an ex-Afghan commando that was under imminent threat from the Taliban for having worked with US military forces in the past. They were able to get him and his family safely out of danger.

    After that mission was a success, they waded through sewers and used satellite imagery to avoid dozens of Taliban checkpoints so they could covertly smuggle people to the airport.

    Their courageous efforts have enabled 630 people to safely get to their evacuation flights out of Afghanistan.

    The volunteer unit was commanded by Lt. Col. Scott Mann, a retired Green Beret commander. He explained how the team was proud to have risked their lives to save “dozens of high-risk individuals, families with small children, orphans, and pregnant women.”

    He explained to ABC: “This Herculean effort couldn’t have been done without the unofficial heroes inside the airfield who defied their orders to not help beyond the airport perimeter, by wading into sewage canals and pulling in these targeted people who were flashing pineapples on their phones.”

    These brave heroes had already sacrificed so much fighting in Afghanistan so the Taliban could not continue their evil reign of terror. The last thing they should have to do is go back into a hostile war zone to rescue people that have been left behind by the Commander in Chief.

    These men deserve to be accommodated and recognized for their amazing strength and resolve. Thank You!

    Biden, on the other hand, handed the terrorists everything they needed to rise again and gave them a list of American citizens and allies who are still behind enemy lines.

    But thankfully, there are still a few good men out there who are willing to do what’s necessary.

    1. There are some lovely photos of Finland from Mother Nature here in this musical video. This looks amazingly a lot like Alberta. Yesterday I was approached by the new neighbour next door, he showed me a photo that he’d just caught in the park behind our respective homes. It was of a large bobcat which must’ve roamed over from Fish Creek Provincial Park.

      1. While I was in Fort St. John earlier this week, I had some business to attend to. Around 9:30 in the morning, I drove about a block north from my house when I happened to notice a dogwalking couple stopped on the sidewalk along the street.

        It turned out they stopped because a doe and two fawns were wandering around the neighbourhood, well inside town limits. She and the kiddies then bounded across the street and disappeared into some brush.

        I hadn’t expected wildlife to get that far into town at that time of the day. Mind you, there’s a creek valley about 1 or 2 km further north, so I assume that they came from there.

          I know I’m repeating myself here…
          I have several photos of same– except there were 4 of them here about 3 years ago. They lounged all day and did some ‘pruning’ – what a glorious mess- branches and twigs everywhere. I loved it, they even left presents. Haven’t seen them in awhile. Perhaps this Fall or Winter, they get drunk on frozen crabapples.

          1. I’ve got some mountain ashes in the backyard of my house. Birds like eating the berries in winter. I know, because, when I used to park my truck in the back alley, the windshield and hood were covered with their leftovers.

            Many years, I actually saw how birds go after mountain ash berries in the middle of winter. I happened to be on the U of A campus at the time and, near one building, there are some large mountain ashes. In those berry-loaded trees was a large flock of waxwings having a grand old time.

          1. I’m not surprised at that. You don’t have to go far in Whitecourt to find yourself in the middle of the bush.

            It was even more so when I lived there in 1977 and the town was a lot smaller.

  28. It just occurred to me. Whose idea was it to call the election? I’m wondering if his masters talked Dear Leader into it, knowing that he could crash and burn, giving them a reason to replace him with the Purple Dinosaur.

    Of course, they could have convinced him to quietly resign and they’d be rid of him. However, to have him humiliated at the polls could convince him to not only quit as party leader but to never seek public office again. For him to quietly fade away could mean that he could eventually return and that would not do.
