It’s a Start

Union opposes mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all Toronto police force members

The Toronto Police Association, which represents nearly 8,000 uniformed and civilian members of the force, said it was opposed to the announcement.

“This announcement, however preliminary, is missing critical details that are central to understanding the impacts, timelines, or potentially alternative options available to our members,” said association president Jon Reid.

“The TPA must make every effort to protect all of our members and therefore, does not support this mandatory vaccination announcement or mandatory disclosure.”

The association said the policy was announced with no documentation, procedures or orders in place to support it and added that it would be working with affected parties to explore collective options.

How many public sector unions going to roll over on this one or fight for their members?

  1. Depends on their allegiances.

In BC, the BCGEU has their hands in the pocket of the NDP and vice versa. It’s an incestuous relationship, the members are 10th on the list of priorities. Each will do what the other tells them. A disgusting state of affairs

  2. Not a fan of public Serv Unions…but in this case, am 100% supportive of their stance.
No one on this planet has the LEGAL right to force any medical procedure on anyone else.
    Nuremberg Article 6, sec 1 + 3.

    Doing so is NAZIISM.

    1. Yep, me too steakman. Good to see I am not the only one touting the Nuremberg Code. I hope that eventually the evil people who have conned the stupid people are hanged under that Code. They deserve it.

  3. Well, it says that they oppose mandatory vaccines for them, not that they oppose mandatory vaccines for you.

    1. The stormtroopers should have to take all the vaccines. 6 shots by Christmas (plus any boosters) or you’re fired. Unless of course they no longer want to enforce all these lockdown laws.

  4. Really, who cares. They will not stop sending union dues to political parties. They will not stop being communists. They will make some noise for the remainder of the week, and they will command all the members to vote for the “correct” party.

It’s called “taking one for the team”. The cops will get the jabs, and the unions will back the politicians, eventually and inevitably. The union bosses will get raises. Some animals, are more equal than others, after all.

The annual strikes when it is contract negotiation time, and the “wrong” party happens to be in office, will continue as normal. The billion dollar ad campaigns to attack the “wrong” parties, will continue as normal.

The problem is that the unions are there. They need to be removed. Public sector union, is an irreconcilable conflict of interest.

I don’t get to vote for the union leadership; but the union leadership gets to set public policy using strikes, work to order, ad campaigns, political donations, etc..

  5. Throw some cash at them and they’ll fold like cheap suits.
When police act like pricks 99% of the time I don’t get the warm and fuzzies when it’s their bull that’s getting the horns, because odds are they’ll either be paid off or get a gov’t approved, mealymouthed “don’t ask don’t tell” vax policy then resume being their natural selves again which is clubbing those who don’t want the vax like seal pups.

Nurses unions armed with reams of medical evidence fought the mask mandate during Sars and actually won. Today they’re insisting everyone get vaxxed and wear masks. Science is fluid I guess.

    1. burton, you mean to tell me that you don’t have confidence in the honesty and morality of those who “serve and protect”?

      1. Had it at one time. Lost it. Me reporting a stolen bike I found while walking through the woods and them saying we’ll send someone over ASAP.

Officer upon arrival at my house: “I’ve come to understand that you’re in possession of stolen goods, sir?
        WTF???????

Someone here…I forgot who, told me they look at us as “as citizens who have not been convicted” or something of that nature. That’s their mindset.
        So true.
Want my trust and confidence?? Start earning it instead of being dicks.

  6. Alternate headline: “Police union thought it was part of the ruling class, discovers otherwise with vaccine order”

  7. Move these challenges to enforced vaccinations on to the Supreme Court. Let’s get a decision on personal rights.

    1. You won’t get honesty, justice, or morality, out of the communist supreme court of canada. You got’s no rights. this is canada. Bend over and smile.

    1. A little anecdotal information to accompany this stance by the Metro Toronto Police Association. My wife was at her salon yesterday and the topic of conversation was the number of young women that have experienced unusual menstrual flows since they had the vaccine. The biggest concern was that the majority of these young women were under twenty-one and were reluctant to report this abnormality to their family practitioner, which is an understandable attitude for teen-agers. However if this is a standard occurrence happening across the country we maybe overlooking a proverbial ostrich in the coal mine.
If you know of anyone who has experienced suspected adverse effects after getting the vaccine urge them to report their condition.
For more information here is the Canadian site for reporting adverse vaccine effects.

        1. It’s what “we don’t know “ that’ll get us. That’s why such long research programs are supposed to be required, to remove as much uncertainty as possible.

Anyone up for a nationally mandated game of Russian Roulette? …you know, to protect your health!

    1. CJ, there is no science that says a mask can stop anything other than a surgeon drooling in an incision.

      1. VOWG, damn right. That is exactly what they are meant for.

I’m amused by a new narrative: that masks are 10% effective.
Where in fuck did they get this number? Out of a hat is where.

  8. Would be a shame if the politicians and bureaucrats involved with making the decisions to remove the right to bodily autonomy with threats of unemployment end up being closely watched to make sure they aren’t breaking any traffic or criminal laws. I’m sure none of the ruling class have skeletons in their closet that need investigating or have sloppy driving habits that harm public safety.

Wouldn’t want to be like our ruling class and target, discriminate or demonize certain classes of people, of course, but ensuring that our law makers are squeaky clean is certainly for the greater good. After all, we’re all in this together.

  9. PSAC is rolling over, getting, up again, flip flopping and pushing rope.

Word has it that the PSAC Karen’s (the base) is very against civic liberties, and the union leaders are doing whatever they can to keep their paychecks nice and fat.

  10. They will negotiate a compromise.
    Vaccines for thee,not for me.
Exactly the same deal they have with law administration.
They will roll over as soon as their specialness is made official..
    Pure theatre.
All the talk of “Compulsory vaccinations” for the Parasitic Overload are street theatre,to convince the semi sane taxpayers to fall in line.
If the Government Goo is so great, they can double their dose and take the dose, they claim to have for me..cause two jabs are no longer enough.

  11. Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t the Canadian gestapo, uh, I mean police, rather brutally enforcing all the ridiculous mandates? If so, why should I support them being exempt from what they won’t stop doing to others?

I.e., why support their having a privilege they deny to others?

  12. I had heard that less than 30% Firefighters and EMS had got the clot jab. I was pretty sure the police would tell the politicians to fuck off too.

  13. I wonder how many of these cops who are unwiIIing to get the vaccine for themseIves; are aII to happy to put their knees on the necks of Canadians who make the same choice.

It’s Iike a cop who arrests a shopIifter at Shoppers Drug Mart, but thinks nothing of pocketing a few things before he Ieaves the store with the perp.
