Kevin Newman: The people we left behind at the gas station
Despite claims of “miraculous” progress, we are still failing to evacuate our people from Afghanistan
Each family included an average of 10 people — so make it a hundred — told it was time to leave for Canada. Others followed, and pretty soon there were 500 Afghans at the gas station hoping for rescue. Some in the huge crowd were told to wear red to identify themselves on a list Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) had compiled. One even wore a Roots Canada jacket a soldier had sent over to him years ago. But it didn’t matter. No one from Canada was there to meet them.
For at least another 40 hours they sat at that gas station, trapped in the middle, unable to leave, with no further word from Canada on whether they should attempt to return to hiding, or keep praying for a miracle.

Wee Juthtin’s SHE-treat from Afghanistan…..
He makes Cackling Harris looks like a genius.
Any advice you get from our government today, you can expect it to be a disappointment.
My personal perspective and advice…
RUN, FOR FUCK SAKES RUN!!!
All it can be now, will be getting worse.
Make it to the borders before your totally trapped.
With the confusions around, your much more likely to make it. Waiting will only strengthen communication and duties of others.
Wait, are you talking about borders in Canada or Afghanistan?
Probably both.
At least Harris had to cheat her way into office, the sheeple of Canada voted for Blackie.
Love using Afghanistan Joe and heels up Harris.
Quite appropriate for them.
To paraphrase a bit from an old Hank Williams song:
“Afghan Joe, he’s gotta go
Me-oh-my-oh…..”
If this was a Conservative government handling this during an election campaign the media would be making it a 24/7 story. Flashback to the young boy washing up on a Turkish beach during the Syrian refugee crisis and how immediately it became Harper’s fault. Bastards will try to just sluff it off. Trudeau should be raked across the coals for this but please watch a doctored video.
Exactly what I was thinking.
I think SH would be justified in making an appearance to say as much.
The C-17 has an absolute limit of 170,000 lbs of lifting capacity. (I’m not getting into the weight of fuel here)
That is closer to 700 people at 230 lbs each… I’ve used 600 as Kabul is “at height” and I doubt there are too many Afghans who weight +230 lbs…
Do the Canadian domestic rules apply? That is, wearing seatbelts, covid vaccine, sit down, shut up, and hold on?
Or, are the rules more akin to what the Vietnamese boat people apply, whereby those people were actually fleeing for their lives from a hostile state, and they put as many terrified people in as they could?
From what I’ve read, the C-17’s have been leaving Kabul 1/6 full, and 5/6 empty
How about a photo of the interior of a Canadian C-17 leaving Kabul mostly empty?
I did see a photo of an American C-17 stuffed full of people, far more than 105.
*Some reports of a firefight at the airport this am of the US and Germany vs the local effort (who Breitbart reported a witness who escaped to India as saying… the Taliban rape all the women, and then rape the dead victims too.
The Taliban rapists and their ilk read from the same 3 texts as all the other islamic people in the world, they’re just a bit more devout.
Is the Canadian gov’t limiting the number of people on the C-17 to manufacturer’s recommendations so that in the future they’ll say “we took 600 trips out of Kabul” … while only 100 trips were necessary if the airplanes weren’t 5/6 empty?
Gov’t rules? Liberal gov’t rules? Did the CSA issue a decree saying these are rules in our “fleeing from hazard” codebook?
From what I read a few days ago, an air traffic controller in Kabul asked how many souls were on board after take off and was stunned when told over 800 squeezed in.
Said ” Holy f**k “.
That was the American C130.
Actually that was a C17 and it has been updated to 614 souls.
Why would anyone be wanting to leave their homeland which is being ruled by a strident form of the ‘Religion of Peace’? Might there be something in the ‘western world’ more desirable than life under the Taliban? It would be nice for someone to ask our Prime Minister these sorts of questions.
There was an interview on CBC Newsworld this morning with an Afghan interpreter who had worked with the Canadian military (he was in Vancouver). His comment was get Global Affairs (what a preposterous name that is) and some other government department whose acronym I didn’t catch out of there and let the military handle the evacuation.
“Each family included an average of 10 people…Others followed, and pretty soon there were 500 Afghans at the gas station hoping for rescue.”
Wait, what?. An average of 10 people?? They’d have to rent stadiums for reunions. I’m getting a sense that the definition of “family” might have been loosened up a bit.
They had 7 years.
That’s a long time with thumb in bum for all involved and its more than enough for my give a fuck factor to fall to zero.
Canada is getting roasted on US media for its tepid response. Were worse than the Germans for rules.
Advising people to email their papers when they’re looking down the barrel of a gun is absurd.
The Bong (if he’s paying attention at all) must be shitting his skinny pants in fear that a video doesn’t appear showing Canadians getting mowed down by Taliban machine gun fire.
Dear Leader’s bought-and-paid-for MSM would go into overtime to cover that up.
Daddy, why are all those people in red shirts at the gas station getting shot on TV?
Canada’s getting roasted???? How about the dementia ridden f*ckwit President in charge who pulled all the military out and created this situation?
