    1. I’m sorry but I do not buy that the Taliban of today are any different or better than the Taliban of the past. I am basing my assessment on the reports I am getting from a friend, one of those left behind by the Canadian government currently trying to go unnoticed by the Taliban. There is widespread looting, beating of people in streets, corruption already present in that you have to pay thugs to be allowed to get past check points to get food, and people are disappearing after being dragged away by Taliban thugs beating them all the way. I’ve known this man for years. He is not lying to me. Anyone saying these Taliban are better or different is just plain ignorant or lying.

    1. How the hell would he know how to shoot a deer? The only wildlife he hunted was girls (boys??) at school. His groping hand is more dangerous that 99.99% of firearm owners. Maybe he considers that he only needs one grope to “get his deer” so to speak and therefore that is OK, maybe even 2 gropes. Surely 3 or more gropes is just too much now, unless she says no, then he can grope all he wants…..

    2. Trudeau knows sweet f*** all about hunting. It often takes more than one shot to bring down a deer, especially if it is shot by an inexperienced hunter or just a guy who made a poor first shot.
      A buddy who is an excellent hunter and deadly shot had one of Winchester’s famous Power Point bullets shatter on hitting the rib of a big muley, he had to track it down and finish it off with one of his home made lead/wheel weight combination rounds. Now he hunts with a Browning BAR,which is a misnomer because it isn’t automatic, but I suppose the PR guys at Browning thought it had a “sexy” sound to it after the real gun was made famous in WW2.

      Same can happen with any big game animal, and an almost instant second shot can make the difference between a quick kill and an unpleasant ordeal. May I change my first statement? Trudeau knows SFA about nearly everything.

  5. If you know anyone willing to try to get you 20-round mags across the border, this would be a good time. It’s obvious, and has been for a very long time (like since his father’s cabinet wrote “rehabilitation rather than punishment” into law) that the left’s mandate has always been to disarm the citizenry and empower criminals so that we live in fear and are thus distracted from their malfeasance, venality, and incompetence.

    Just another shovelful of dung thrown onto the same pile as equity, LGBTQ-whatever, racism, “mass graves,” ordering police to ignore rioters and Antifa attacks, climate change, etc etc ad nauseam.     1. 20 round mags aren’t legal for anything in Canada except rimfire, which has no magazine limit. Pistols limited to 10. Center fire semiauto long guns limited to 5.

      1. Bright spot: Pistol Caliber Carbines can have 10 shot magazines. And mine do. PAL only required. Lots of fun at the range. Of course they’re not a large game animal-hunting weapon…

      2. Unless you have a Ruger 10/22, they are limited to 10 rounds, because you can use the same magazines in the pistol version (restricted) of the 10/22 (Charger Pistol) of which there are only 500 registered in the entire country. Ask any Ruger 10/22 owner about this boondoggle!

        A company in Edmonton is 3D printing magazine adapters, to retrofit a Remington .22 magazine, available in high capacities.
        They have government approval and that combination is legal.

        A workaround for a non-existent problem, just ban the combination of that pistol with a mag more than ten rounds, the way it is now.

        I agree with Buddy, there are lots of good pistol caliber carbines out there, but even some of them are being banned. Ask Beretta CX Storm owners about that one!

        I could probably hunt with my Ranch Hand in .45LC, with a good handload. 6+1! they make them in 454 Cassul as well..

    If you cannot accurately identify which party’s platform that is; then why does “vote splitting” matter?

    1. It doesn’t matter which party made that statement, it’s good politicking, and just what the nervous peasants in the big cities want to hear. If a party wants it’s candidates to have a fighting chance, they have to make such a statement.

      Recognition of climate change has become another “motherhood” issue, play along to get elected then do what you must to govern competently and economically.

      Or stand fast on your magnificent Principles and garner less than 2% of the vote.

  7. Here is another solution to gun crimes and this goes way back o the 1950’s. When my Dad immigrated to Canada back in the Fifties he was warned that if he ran afoul of the law he’d be deported. When did that little rule fall by the wayside? Why do Canadians run around with their conscience on their sleeves? Since when are we required to save the world? If we accept immigration then we can accept that those who participate must accept our customs and if unable to abide by our rules then they should be deported, FULL STOP! This should not stop at gun crimes or violent crime. If you come here and start advocating for changes to our society, or to demonstrate for changes in your native land to make you feel more accepted then perhaps you should get a free ticket back to where you feel more comfortable.

    1. That rule fell by the wayside when the Great Bloody Charter came into effect. And it was later backed up by a SCC ruling that everyone who set foot on Canadian soil was covered by the Blessed Charter and could NOT be deported. Allah bless Beverley McLachlin for that one.

      I remember the good old days when immigrants used deportation as a threat against their kids who were starting to run wild. It smartened the poor little things up right smartly!
      But we have evolved as a Nation, and now everyone, even a Charles Ng is covered by the GBC and gets to stay here in lovely little Canader. We are SO virtuous!

    3. Trudeau I wasn’t stupid, but his much-vaunted intellect was greatly overrated. (His sophisticated PR machine and own arrogance was mostly responsible for that). I’m sick of hearing how smart he was. He wasn’t all that smart, mostly because he was lazy, most things bored him, and he thought he knew everything already anyway.

      I have told two stories about PET already, but they always bear repeating, because even HERE some people buy the HORSECRAP they’re fed by their “betters” about Trudeau’s brilliance. Trudeau was NOT brilliant.

      The first story was from Judy Lamarsh’s own memoirs. Judy was unfortunately a big-government statist, but unlike most of these types today, she was also serious-minded, conscientious, and a very hard worker. She hadn’t been born with a silver spoon; she got where she did through her own perceived merits. She was a cabinet veteran by the time Trudeau was parachuted in as Justice Minister. She observed him to be disengaged from most cabinet discussions, uninformed, frequently absent, and preposterously arrogant, even to his cabinet colleagues. She detested him, recognized him as nothing more than an obnoxious dilettante, and couldn’t understand why so many people couldn’t see through him as she did. But she admitted many were “captivated” by his “intriguing personality”.

      The second story was told by Eric Kierans. Eric was like Judy a leftist, but was also a serious-minded person. Eric said that one day Trudeau walked into his office in Ottawa and started asking him some pretty basic questions about economics and economic policy. Kierans did not hold a financial portfolio at the time in Trudeau’s government, but he was recognized as an economist. Not only was Kierans surprised that Trudeau was not having this discussion with his finance minister, he was also stunned at Trudeau’s economic ignorance. After answering his questions, Eric said: “Surely you already know all this stuff, you studied at the London School of Economics for God’s sake!” Trudeau simply shrugged his shoulders as he was wont to do, and replied: “Oh, you know what that sort of thing is like…” In telling the story afterwards, Eric admitted he didn’t know “what that sort of thing is like”, but he eventually realized that everything about Trudeau was a fake.

      I wouldn’t blame Junior’s obvious mental incompetence on his mother. I don’t know if Maggie is stupid or brilliant. Her father from what I can gather seemed like a highly intelligent fellow. (Doesn’t mean he was a worthy person or that his politics were correct; they weren’t). All I know from her public actions and her own interviews and autobiographies is that she suffers from mental illness. And like Trudeau, she’s self-absorbed by her own wonderfulness. With parents like Junior’s, what hope could he have to turn into a decent person. Even Junior’s half-brother (from Maggie’s Kemper union) knows Junior is a creep.

      Canadians are IDIOTS to have bestowed the keys of the kingdom to contemptible, dangerous weirdos.

      but what about solar and wind our greeny-leftists friends would ask us…well they don t work 95 % of the time as there is either no wind or no sun…and building them, maintaining them and recycling them ( they are not really recyclable ) does also emit lots of emissions

Good for my blood pressure, because after a lay off from driving most people seem to need a refresher course on just the basics of A to B survival. There will be an awful lot of landfills filled with giant EV batteries and old solar panels, along with giant fans. None of that crap is currently recyclable, (A business opportunity perhaps?) but they carefully avoid telling the sheep that reality. Another local example, we have a guy that bought a Nissan Leaf a few years ago, and now his battery is slowly failing. Today, he can’t get more than about a hundred kilometers per charge, in total out of it. He tried to purchase a replacement from Nissan, but they don’t sell them. I guess, when your EV battery fails, you must replace the whole vehicle. Another item they conveniently forget to mention.

    1. Lots of people go hunting with AR-15s. They’re one of the best hog guns you can get. Canadian farmers and ranchers used the Mini-14 for predator control for decades. That rifle is functionally almost identical to an AR-15.

      AR-15s are just semiauto medium powered rifles. The typical Canuck deer rifle is far more powerful.

      1. The Ranch rifle was and probably still is the poorest shooting gun invented.Saw several that couldn’t put up a 4 inch group a lot of fun to shoot though

      2. One of the best and most under appreciated deer rifles I have ever owned is the 6.5 X 55 Swedish Mauser, excellent caliber and with almost no recoil.
        The Husqvarna model with the 24 inch barrel is a tack driver, but almost no one I have met has ever heard of them. Too many hunters I know that get their wives or daughters interested in hunting look for a .243, which is a good caliber but on the light side for deer, unless you are a damned good shot,of course.

        My brother has a nice .223 Ruger bolt action but he wouldn’t use it for any game other than coyotes. The AR-15 IS scary looking though, so that keeps the ignorant in thrall to the anti-gun Liberals, Dippers and Greens,all of whom swear to make our lives safer.

    1. The guns they banned last year included the specific ones used to commit mass shootings in Canada. So the Mini-14 (Ecole Polytheque) and the Beretta Storm (Dawson College) were both banned, while functionally identical models (e.g., Kriss Vector in .223, Ruger PC Carbine) remain legal and unrestricted.

      Trudeau would face stiff opposition if he tries the same blanket semi-auto center-fire ban that exists in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. There are hundreds of thousands of surplus SKS rifles in Canada, including a lot in the hands of First Nations people. We live in a huge country with a lot of wilderness. Stripping Canadians of the ability to own guns appropriate to this rugged country is a heinous offense perpetrated by soft urbanites.

    If you posit that bromides in your platform gets you elected, where is your evidence?

    If you posit that once elected, the platform bromides result in concrete policy accomplishments, then list them.

    Has the deficit been eliminated, by anyone who promised to do so? Has the debt been paid down, by anyone who promised to do so? Have water systems on reservations been fixed, by anyone who promised to do so? Are your steets promptly cleared of snow? Have the wait lists diminished in the health care scientific elite complex? Is inflation under control? Are you better off than your parents were?

    If you want different, then you have to insist on different. You have to accept nothing less, than different. If you want more of the same? Then continue as before. Change, or accept that you don’t actually want change.

  18. Has anyone asked Trudeau how he expects to solve gun crimes by making rules more difficult and stringent ? This will end up with more criminals with guns than law abiding citizens.

    1. High River Alberta told us all we need to know. The Canadian Firearms Registry is clearly still in operation, and the RCMP is clearly still using it.

      If you own a gun, you are already a registered criminal. They are just “waiting for their moment”.

      If you have a PAL (possession acquisition license), you are also already a registered criminal. Even if you have not declared that you own any guns yet.

      We are all simply waiting our turn, to be Gerald Stanley’ed. When they have finished purging all the honesty out integrity out of the police and armed forces.
