The fallout from your last paragraph will be that MLB and all sports media will no longer allow the use of “Dinger” as a slang for a home run, and if we use it we’ll be called racist. I’ve already seen someone use it on an OJ story – calling him a stupid dinger. Give it a week of other people using it this way and it will be banned like the OK hand sign.
