Well, this soccer enthusiast will try. The world is catching up. Plain and simple. The US women had a giant head start since (a “repressive” America) encouraged and supported women’s sport thru Title 9 long before any other nation. Even soccer power Brazil is still a socially-macho nation and only gives lip service (oops, poor wording) to women’s soccer. If Brazil trained their women’s team as the US does with highly organized youth programs and competitive collegiate programs … the US women would get crushed by them regularly. So Canada has caught up. Sweden has caught up. China has caught up. The Dutch have caught up …
Yes … 45 is correct. The taking of the knee is a giant distraction. But even worse … it is DIVISIVE. I did not see the kneeling ceremony, but I’ve seen stills of it … and it appears as though some of the US team were standing, while others were kneeling. This illustrates DIVISIVENESS among the TEAM. There is nothing more corrosive to a team sport than divisiveness in the ranks. Add to that the constant acting-out and media attention given to the purple haired dyke on the team … and I can guarantee you the locker room is NOT a happy place. And hence … the team suffers on the field. The dyke is also an OLD player (36 yo) … and good soccer teams are constantly reloading with fresh, young … better … players. I suspect the dyke has been kept longer than she should have been and that young upcoming players have suffered as a result. THAT is supremely corrosive on a soccer team … when the players KNOW there is better talent that is being held back. And no … the dyke is NO Christiano Ronaldo (ageless).

In the grand scheme of things, women’s soccer is like a male beauty pageant. You can have one, but why bother?
Well, the Canadian women wearing BLM T-shirts, and taking a knee didn’t impress me a whole lot either, and yet, here they are, playing for gold against Sweden.
My loyalties are all screwed up. I guess when it comes down to cheering for Canada, or supporting freedom and democracy, I’d have to go with the latter.
Didn’t the IOC say that this sort of thing would not be allowed??? Woke Olympics, or as I call them, the Covid Games. The hell with all of it! Couldn’t care less about sports that nobody cares about until the Olympics roll around… Skateboarding? Rock-Climbing? Badminton? 3-on-3 Basketball? These are Olympic events now?
I really enjoy the track and field part of the Olympics, but if the Olympics want to continue their slide into history they just need to keep this woke crap up.
I don’t care if every woman in sports is a lesbian, but if you tell me I have to love them I’m gonna cheer for the ugly ex-dude still sporting a 9″ wrench to lay a beating on you just before I permanently tune out.

Our darker skinned athletes seem to be doing extremely well in that heat and humidity.
I am proud to see them win for all the hard work they have put into their sport.
Our Canadian Athletes seem to have great personalities and that’s the quality of the person that I measure.

How much would the world be improved, if the Church of Woke actually succeeded in taking down the IOC. The IOC being one of the top 3 most corrupt organizations in the world. Actually, it is number 1 or 2, with the other being that soccer graft squad FIFA. After those 2, I do not even know if it is worth identifying number 3, or a top 5, or a top 10.

Basically, “corrupt international organization” is just repetitive. All international organizations are corrupt, so it basically goes without saying. But, not all corrupt organizations are international.

My 13yo daughter scored several direct corner kick goals in youth soccer. a) because most youth teams and coaches don’t even KNOW that you can score direct from a corner kick, and b) because many gk’s fail to position themselves correctly. Anything hit behind the gk is gonna go in. Executing the swerving kick isn’t that great a challenge (my 13yo daughter could do it). More importantly, it is a really selfish thing to do. Scoring from corner kicks (off your teammates header) makes up a large percentage of all soccer goals. Attempting to make the direct kick cuts out all your teammates and is a lower percentage play (esp. at the pro. level). Her goal was selfish as hell … or a happy accident … one or the other.
The dykes other goal came from a piss-poor clearance that she skillfully volleyed out of the air into the goal. A really nice strike of the ball … but essentially a lucky play.
The dyke was uninspiring in the run of play. Her defense is atrocious. She can cross the ball nicely when under no pressure on the wing … but she’s mainly “aggressive” on the field. I guess she really likes to “take it to” those cute blondes out there.
At 36yo … this is her swan song. She will now slip into obscurity. She will become a cartoon … like that skater Johnny Weir. OMG! Did you catch that Drag Queen doing commentary for NBC!? What a total FREAK!! And why did NBC even have an Winter Olympian commenting on the summer Olympics? Ohhhh … you know why.
