I suspect that most of their conversations actually revolve around if and when Epstein’s island is reopening.
Real leaders who care about their countries people brag about their country’s past, no matter how vile it was.
Globalist assholes who hold their own people in contempt apologize for their country’s past, no matter how good it was.
Look up the brig Lord Rodney and the history of the Chatham islands for an example of Polynesian colonization techniques. Europeans were relatively benign by comparison. This dumb cnut needs to stay under her mat.
It’s at a point where you wonder what politico will be sorry for what on any given day and offer up an apology on behalf of all citizens of their domain. It’s stupidity of the highest order, nobody can apologize for the deeds of others or on their behalf. We can regret something happened and learn from it, nothing beyond that makes any sense or has any merit.

But if our politicos couldn’t mouth meaningless platitudes and insincere words of concern, what else would they be good for?

Actually, they do it because they are told to. There is a hierarchy of elites, and Justin and Jacinda are puppets. I can’t imagine anyone believes Justin thinks for himself. The globalists are the deciders.
I had a different take on this; the government officially apologized for a past wrong, the wronged party officially forgave the government. Everything is now in the past and everyone can move on with their lives. That is how it is supposed to work.
That doesn’t work here because the government, until Steven Harper, would never admit wrongdoing and the grievance mongers, to this day, will never forgive.
I also cannot imagine our current Prime Minister allowing himself to be humiliated for the good of the country. It just won’t happen here.
