          1. I agree. We’ve seen this before. The rich were completely out of touch in 1789. Then the pitchforks came out, and the Bastille was stormed and burnt to the ground. The rich weren’t laughing any more after Madame set up shop in Place de la Concord. Make life intolerable for the middle class who actually run society and even the rich sooner or later get dragged down and disposed of. Basic physics: the longer the pot lid is clamped down on the hot burner; the worse will be the explosion when the pot bursts the lid off.

        4. Rulers always need scribes to build things, run economic concerns and count the wealth. These scribes will be what is left of the middle-class. They will have a little more access to knowledge and truth but will be well disciplined as in the Communist countries. Their loyalty will be bought by income security. The worrying thing is how our new international rulers have brought into the Club of Rome BS and genuinely belief it is their duty to reduce the human population.

  5. Government leadership now means assuming the worst case scenario, if it benefits their power, prestige and wealth, no matter how unlikely, is valid and then rule accordingly, using coercion and censorship while gambling with our money, safety and liberty.

    When will the public tire of politicians running their lives who are wrong on major issues and bereft of any analytical ability?

    Science is what they want to believe to be true. Evidence is irrelevant.

    Some ponder in the mind, they’re sure in their heart along with their “independent fact checkers.”

    Except when they’re wrong, which is almost always the case, and terrible consequences ensue, they refuse to be held accountable, claiming they didn’t do all the stupid things we know they did, and can document, yet they persist in their belief.

    The truth is they think they’re above you, but can deal with any contrary arguments, always assuming their innocence and ulterior motives on the part of others. They muddle the message of experts they can co-opt, coerce or censor to go along.

  6. Quite right, Oz. The Precautionary Principle surfaced with respect to nuclear safety in the 1970s. It had its roots in the 1955 hypothesis of Linear No Threshold, which means that every exposure to ionizing radiation is deemed harmful regardless of how small it may be. It’s then spread to just about everything.

    Mostly this is a consequence of the dismal teaching of science and arithmetic in the school system, but that’s another huge topic on its own.

      ALL life on this planet developed in the CONSTANT bath of radiation.       I believe the term for “strength through non-lethal doses of “toxins / pathogens, etc., is Hormesis.

      1. Bruce, it was developed at a time where there was no evidence of harm of radiation at low levels. There was little evidence of radiation existing naturally in things other than high natural concentrations of, say, Potassium 40 found in bananas. There was little understanding of how it was found in high concentrations in phosphate plants.       Would branding the lesser minions with “Govt Issue Serial Killer” be justice enough?
