    While American scientists are trying to recreate the cast of Planet of the Apes, the Chinese are working day and night to genetically engineer viruses that will kill a military-age white man in three days but not give a pure-blooded Han tribesman as much as a headache.

        2. @LindaL, PCR is widely used in medical and laboratory settings, e.g., cancer detection, typing, and treatment, improving organ transplants, molecular diagnostics for a range of pathogens, paternity testing, genetic forensics, etc.

    Sadly, what could be a great frontier in human ability comes down to this. There are too many whose only thought is to bring us all down to their level rather than let the exalted few achieve more, and lift us all by their works.

        1. Comrade Douglas may have been a Christian preacher but the Regina Manifesto reads like the Communist Manifesto. He was about as left as you can get. We remember the lunch scene in “Jurassic Park”, where Jeff Goldbloom’s character rails on against biological experimentation, where he says that science goes onward, building on the shoulders of past work. The posted article poo-poos the Planet of the Apes notion, but this neglects what Goldbloom’s character was saying. Future work will be far worse. This will not end well.

  11. Hey, the Annunaki arrived from space, looked around, and said “we some way to mine all this gold” so they created humanity by combining their DNA with some local primate DNA and voila, homo sapiens.

    Now that we’ve climbed the ladder it’s perfectly natural that we would do the same thing.
