  1. Not a tip, but a query. Anyone have a suggestion for blogs or websites that deal with day-to-day changes in how Canada Customs and Immigration is handling Canadian citizen travelers returning by road from the USA? Tips on what to say or not say, best time of day to show up at the border, crossing sites to avoid or choose, that sort of thing?

  3. Haha! As a matter of fact, I did buy a used pistol. Used by a Wehrmacht officer, and subsequently by an American serviceman who captured it. But I am not so foolish as to try to bring that, or any other firearm, across the border. It stays down here.

    I am aware of the GC site. That’s what THEY want of me. I want to know, as a practical matter, what I can get by with. The 72-hour testing protocol is problematic, as it takes a day or more to get a result, and it takes all of two days to drive from central Arizona to Sweetgrass. And, since they apparently demand I get tested again AT the border, what is the point? And I am going to have to import the vehicle, too.

    1. we’re in the same quandary in Florida….get tested…then head north hopefully receiving
      our test results on route. We’ve both vaccinated but still have to arrive at the border with a negative test…take another test at the border and then lockdown at home for another 14 days, submitting an additional self test 10 days in to that.
      In other words….they don’t recognize a fully vaccinated person….and the point is?

    2. I remember as a kid, a lot of guys from this area went down South for the winter wheat harvest. In the 60’s, a lot pistols came across inside John Deere 95s and Massey 510s. The custom officers would ask them to start the engine and run the threshing mill, for weed control and to make sure the mill was clean. But the harvesters were smart enough to tape them to a shaft or an auger inside a tube. Today, they’d most likely seize the combine and the trailer. Not a profitable cargo to sneak across!!

  8. The big news this morning in the bought and paid for media, is that the Liberal Party’s top doctors in Ontario are demanding stay at home orders. Everyone must stay in their homes because the nice weather is here, and people may go out and enjoy it. And for God’s sake we need to protect the teachers. Thousands of teachers will die because of Doug Ford. Only Blackie can save us. Hopefully he is back from his “long weekend”. PRAISE GREAT LEADER!

  13. Right now, I’m looking out my living room window towards the high-rise on the other side of the courtyard of our apartment complex. On its roof are two Canada geese, probably the same pair that’s been hanging around our neighbourhood for the past few years.

    The sun’s shining and they’re looking out over their realm, quite pleased with their circumstances. It’s quite a sight to see two geese sitting on top of a building, strutting back and forth, and honking.

    Talk about free entertainment…..

    1. My geese are getting cheeky. I heard them honking a few minutes ago and, after stepping out on my balcony and taking a look, I saw them walking through the courtyard, completely unafraid, as if they owned the place.

    More Policized double speak? So I did a little spade work. PTW Energy Services is familiar to me, at least to anyone in The Patch. It’s a “private” company. They supply camps and camp services to the drilling industry, cooks, cleaners, low paid workers compared to a drilling crew et al. Yeah, we’re still drilling out here, 1980’s levels. A “local workplace” is doublespeak for “we know where it is, but you don’t need to”…. a drilling operation most likely, with a work camp to isolate the drill crew at. Usually they bunk and eat at the local motels, but they probably are off limits. The “infectee” traveled out of Canader and returned with a “Brazilian Tan”, variant P.1 from Brazil. No mention whether a 14 day quarantine had been followed, so suspect it wasn’t. They’re “special”, eh. Decide for yourselves. You of course travel out of the country and you get railroaded on COVID, tested or not. Calgary is an international entry point for “foreign travelers”. Why’s infectee out of the country in the first place? Homesick?
    “because employees travel between sites, the outbreak has spread to 26 staff and members of their households. ” He drives a grocery truck and replacement staff between PTW Energy camps, most likely. It’s a big crew cab, 10 ton truck. Who the 26 staff and house holds are not expanded on, but they are probably just collateral damage at this point, some who had the misfortune to spend an hour or two, or longer with Brazil Guy, in the truck. Ker-choo. Now it’s out and nobody knows who these people have been in contact with. Total shit show! It’s going on all across this country, by the way. Media is mute. Bought off.

    You want to get a handle on this crap and it is now beyond crapola, lynch some people. Start with some politicized twits who are stringing us along for the last year and a half. Some corporate operations need to be shuttered and fined…..a lot. Heads should be rolling, especially gubmint at all levels and our old folks shizzoles, that have had a year or so to clean up their acts and haven’t.
    Start with CCP operatives and their clans and their political buddies. They need to be severely inconvenienced. They might take the hint and self export. Insult them to their faces. Send ’em home with a Canadian “variant”. The Trots. Why we continue to deal with them on any level today, is beyond me. I have no need for time expired crap from Chinah.   17. Covid numbers in Toronto and Peel district in Ontario remain very high. The burning question,has any government official/expert connected it to the large numbers of residents travelling back and forth to their “homelands” ? Seems it’s been going on from the beginning of this nightmare as it was before.

    We just heard more breathless shit from our hairy PM, he’s taking such good care of us, vaccinating as many as possible as soon as possible. He’s still sucking a hind teet and has a way to go to catch up to other countries.

As we all know he has been accused of being a racist bastard by the media and politicians. However the truth is he started off at a reserve where he worked closely with Indian leaders. He even was given an Indian name. He then worked with chiefs to develop a day school system. He would have been shocked at the later abuses in the residential school system. Air Can’tada now includes as part of in-flight announcements the warning that “failure to comply” with mask regulations (whatever that means) can result in the offender being met at the destination by police and being subject to “financial penalties” (too cowardly to call them fines), and that person’s name being forwarded to Transport Canada.

        I’m sure a lot of it is due to certain parties acting on their attitudes now that the government has let them off their leashes.
