        1. It costs a lot less to take a picture of Jasper Avenue and one would likely have similar scenery.

  1. From the frontiers of fatuous foolish flummery, I bring you….. adventures in disease control!

It turns out that I needed to buy a cellphone because a certain cheap-skate taxi company in a certain town took out its courtesy line at a certain airport. Without it, I could be easily stranded there as the one payphone in the terminal doesn’t seem to be working properly.

I talked to several outfits in the shopping centre near where I live in Edmonton. Telus insisted that I answer the standard virus questions plus receiving a new mask. At Rogers, all I got was the standard interrogation. The other cellphone kiosks I stopped by simply used walls of plexiglass.

Meanwhile, I can go to just about any other store in that shopping centre, wear the same ratty mask that I’ve been using for the past few months, and come and go without any other hassle.

Two of the actual effects of the virus (which seems to be a phantom as it’s fallen short of being the promised city-killer) seems to be the diminution of IQ and a continuing denial of reality.

And, yes, I managed to buy myself a flip phone. I don’t need anything more elaborate as all I want to do is call a cab. I paid less than $100, which included set-up charges. I guess I can get much of that money back if I bring in some of my empties…..

L – This good news, but they need growing public support to win the political battle, before
Trudeau’s regime completely lives out their dystopian C.C.P. fantasy.

    1. Do you remember when Harper was literally Hitler because he refused to promise to never use the notwithstanding clause? I’d say all that crap is off the table now since the charter is basically toilet paper. How many stupid idiots in Toronto fell for that fable of a document?

      1. When a right or freedom is “subject” to anything it is neither a right or a freedom. If your right to express your principled beliefs is subject to the whims of either tech oligarchs and/or political censorship, then you really don’t have rights at all.
        1. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.

Sadly James, it wasn’t only the idiots in Toronto that fell for that fable of a document, it was average everyday Canadians who actually believed that the Supreme Court of Canada would slap down uppity politicians who tried to mess with our freedoms. How blatantly naive many of us were, myself included.

As long as the Rights and Freedoms of Canadians are subject to limits they are tractable, unlike inalienable Rights and Freedoms which are incapable of being taken away or denied.

    2. New Brunswick man crosses border into Quebec for cheaper beer.(subsidized by the ROC of course)
      Mounties stop and charge.
Hey says man,”Charter SPECIFICALLY guarantees free movement of goods in Canada!”
Pish tosh says Liberally-appointed Supreme Court flunkies, see our “get out of jail free card forever” Serfs:

“Section 1 of the Charter gives governments the power to limit rights and freedoms, as long as those limits can be “demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.”

      Get back on your knees.
And no property rights for you!

    1. What? And deny his detractors a place to show their opinions of him? I would have thought that Fancy Nancy would have welcomed such an opportunity.

    2. Please give Republicans the spine to impeach Biden 20 times should they take control of the house in 2022.

  3. CBC’s bag over the head muslim news host, was busy last night praising Blackie’s justice reform. Great scripted rants by the Somali muslim cabinet minister on how criminals that are black, muslim, or indian should be given special treatment. Because as we all know, criminals from minority groups commit offences because Canadians are racist bastards.

  4. The bought and paid for Canadian media are still ranting this morning about Ted Cruz going to Mexico. Nice distraction from Blackie’s vaccine failures, governor of New York scandal, and Old Joe going to bed every night at 8 during global warming snow storms across America.

    1. They are just setting the stage for the next 20 years of Trudeaumania.
Polls show The Twit is losing support because of no vaccines.
Knowing that polls exist in Canada as part of the Globetrotters(Liberals) vs Generals(Conservatives) game, it is obvious that Fidel’s Mistake is about to pull a whole bunch of vaccines out of somebody’s hat.
      Canada saved.
      Media rejoice.
      Election.
My 5 year ago prediction of disaster on this very site, stating 20 years plus of Lisping Lies lay ahead, horrible as it is, comes too true.

    2. John, FOX News points out this morning that the same paid-and-bought-for media, while dissing Cruz, are giving NY Governor Cuomo a free ride.

  5. I got a fancy flyer in the mail yesterday from some woman running for mayor of Calgary, she prattled on about how we’ve all seen Calgary profoundly changed but “IT’S FOR THE BETTER” and we can all now be more inclusive and caring, now I’m really motivated to vote, I’d vote Nenshi to block this intellectual degenerate, enjoying the Climate Emergency Lockdown everyone?

  6. Employee reviews of the vaunted, PC correct Native Women’s Association of Canada are a tad low (subterranean level):
    https://ca.indeed.com/cmp/The-Native-Women%27s-Association-of-Canada/reviews?fcountry=CA&floc=Ottawa%2C+ON

I know, I know. It might be expected that hard-left, whiny Indian women created a rather difficult work-place under any circumstances. But the same basement level reviews also can be seen at the Glassdoor web site, Google the association’s name as with the above. But what’s interesting is that reviews at both websites complain about the toxic atmosphere created by the long serving CEO, one Lynne Groulx. Also, some of the reviews talk about misappropriation of money, especially federal grant and contract money. Whiny Indian women complain, it is true. But they may know something about taxpayer money being absconded.

Flash back to 2019: The CBC, with Jorge Barrera (a Venezuelan-Indian immigrant) doing the writing, actually published three investigative stories, back then, complaining of toxic atmosphere there, ending up with this April 17 piece, where the Ottawa police were called into the NWAC office to give the then president (Francyne Joe) the heave ho:
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/indigenous/police-nwac-president-1.5101870

It turn out there was an infighting battle between Francyne Joe and CEO Lynne Groulx. Groux, whereby the later called a quick, below-quorum meeting with three people to vote Ms. Joe out. Later in September Lorraine Whitman was voted in (after a wholesale change in directors).

A couple of problems. First, the Indeed and Glassdoor web sitse show a continued complaining of a toxic workplace, with a possible misappropriation of money, even after the new president came in. Yet the CBC’s Jorge Barerra suddenly, by mid 2019, stopped any investigative writing of any toxic workplace. During 2020 and into 20121, all CBC reporting of NWAC was simply to regurgitate left-wing propaganda from this association. A check of the Aboriginal Broadcast Network shows virtually no interest in any toxic workplace complaints at this lobby group.

Second, after the turmoil in 2019, NWAC and the Trudeau government signed a Memorandum of Understanding, whereby NWAC gets another $6-million over four years, on top of the $1-million-a-year coming from Indigenous Affairs. Here Minister Carolyn Bennett did the signing, and the new NWAC president got a meeting with the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau. So the agenda for research by conservatives, is to do more sleuthing as to finding out about any funny-handling of taxpayer money.

  7. Other than controlling what we can watch or hear, what is the purpose of the CRTC. Why are they not able to stop these scam phone calls pretending to be from the legal department of Service Canada. Entities such as Facebook and google can trace you and know exactly where you are and what you are searching for yet this bloated overpaid government agency cannot do a simple basic investigation. I suspect the CRTC is just another of the many useless departments in the Federal Government

    1. CRTC is mainly focused on milking the taxpayer, plus making sure you never see or hear anything except the state message as force fed by the state controlled media, closely enforced by the CRTC. Just like in CUBA

  8. Texas planned its electrical system for a worst case event… based upon a one in ten year event!

“I was curious as to how ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) actually defined such a worst case scenario. It turns out that this scenario is based on using an extreme cold period of 2011 as an analogy”

“A one-in-ten year event is not generally considered a “worst case scenario” in planning for extreme weather events. For comparison, the insurance industry typically considers one-in-100 and one-in-500 year events to estimate maximum possible losses. And even these rare events could be exceeded. ”

    https://rogerpielkejr.substack.com/p/the-texas-blackout-and-preparing

“It appears that ERCOT based its assessment of preparedness for winter 2020-21 on a historical period of 2004 to 2018. Imagine if Miami based its hurricane preparations on the past 14 years of hurricane experience”

I think this explains what happened

  9. And now your Canadians are racist bastards story for today. Blackie’s CBC website is outraged that a store sign in London Ont. says China virus when denouncing the lockdown. But the CBC has no problem with saying the U.K. virus.

  10. Great Leader Blackie just explained in his Friday speech that Canadians are racist bastards, and its all Harper’s fault. He then explained how important is for everyone to speak French. And of course he explained what a wonderful job he is doing with vaccines.

    1. He then explained how important is for everyone to speak French.

I can imagine what my father would say to that, and, no, it wouldn’t be suitable for mixed company. (One of Mozart’s “naughty” songs had a title using a similar phrase.)

    2. How important is it for everyone to speak French? The great irony is that for Justin, speaking French is important, but the country is not. He has shown that in many ways.

      1. LL: Trudeau want us to learn french so that when he says “l’état c’est moi” the villagers will understand.

No superstition has more effectively bewitched America’s Liberal elite than the fashionable concepts of world government, the United Nations, internationalism, international atomic pools, etc. Perhaps the most important and readily demonstrable lesson of history is that freedom goes hand in hand with a state of political decentralization, that remote government is irresponsible government. It would make greater sense to grant independence to each of our 50 states than to surrender U.S. sovereignty to a world organization.

    MND: Mission miserable failure.
It stands [stood] athwart history, yelling Stop [but it raced ahead].

  12. True North reports on our Minister of No Defence, trashing toxic masculinity in the Canadian Armed Forces. Recruits must be little girly boys like our Great Leader.

  13. And one more thing from Rush.

Rush Limbaugh – The CHEAP BASTARD phone call – Feb 1, 2007
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q-UYMIZWJM

Rush receives a phone call from Mike in Troy, New York complaining about the minimum wage, and accuses the GOP of being “cheap bastards” for not wanting to raise the minimum wage.

  14. So what happened in the US Supreme Court?
Today was supposed to be the day ,of the first decision to consider the election fraud cases or not.
My google Fu turned up nothing.
