    I just checked the nearest Environment Canada weather station (automatic) at Assiniboia, Sk. It reads -18°C. Forecast for tonight is -24°C. Station is located at Assiniboia Airport. About 7 miles North of town.

    I check the Weather Network, they’re saying (same time) -28°C. Forecast for tonight is -30°C. I don’t know where the WN sensor is, however I’m assuming near the town. I’m 20 miles from the Environment Canada station at Assiniboia, my car reads -29°C., the thermometer on the house reads -29°C. So I’m assuming that the Weather Network is right on.

    I do understand that computers make errors. However this summer, when some CBC weather reporter clicks on ”Weather, Feb. 08-21, 11:30 PM CST, Assiniboia, SK,” what will come up?? A reading that’s exactly 10 degrees off.

    1. Heat island effect can be skewing some temps. Depends where the thermometer is located. I used to head out south-southesat of Calgary in winter to shoot moon, northern lights etc and the dash temp would read -10 C in town, by 10 km south it read -15/-20 C. Current temp at the airport is -30 C and here at home, about 30 km south is -25 C. Could be warmer near the house, where the thermometer is, though.
      Okotoks is reading -30 C and that is at their airport, probably with very little heat island effect, if you’re familiar where the airport is.

    1. One person had Covid-19 and the vaccination gave her a stroke and the second who had not yet had it was very ill for a week.

However Robert Fife during CTV’s political show tonight, stated that he heard that the prime minister of India is pissed at Blackie for him trashing India regarding the farm protests there. This could effect shipments of the vaccine to Canada.

    Specific public health measures may be as effective at fighting COVID as a vaccine, a new study reports. The research, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine on Jan. 13, reveals that this practice can reduce your likelihood of spreading or catching COVID by up to 96 percent.

    According to an in vitro study posted on Dec. 21 that has not been peer-reviewed, researchers from Northwestern University and Utah State University tested the effectiveness of an over-the-counter nasal spray known as XClear Sinus Care against cultures of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID. Ingredients of the spray include 11 percent xylitol—which is a chemical compound typically used as a sweetener that study authors report has reduced the severity of viral infections—as well as .2 percent grapefruit seed extract (GSE) and .85 percent saline.
    The results showed that after 25 minutes of contact time, the amount of active virus was dramatically reduced by the GSE and had been neutralized by xylitol. “Combination therapy with GSE and xylitol may prevent spread of viral respiratory infections not just for SAR-CoV-2 but also for future H1N1 or other viral epidemics. GSE significantly reduces the viral load while xylitol prevents the virus attachment to the core protein on the cell wall,” the study authors wrote.
