5. One trick comedy. His very first impression of some naive Eastern Euro fool was mildly amusing. Everything after that … a bore. Making a career out of ONE joke … is kinda sad.

   2. I started watching Borat when it was on cable a few years ago. I switched it off after about half an hour. Some time later, I tried watching the one where he played that poofy hairdresser and did the same.

      His humour, if one can call it that, is completely tasteless and without any redeeming characteristics. Yeah, I know that people say the same thing about, say, Monty Python, but at least some thought went into creating the absurdity.

      1. I ‘ve watched it too and one thing always amazes me about the people he has treated so shabbily to make his ‘comedy’ work is the fact he has never had the shit beat out of him.
         American people ae too nice.

      2. If Monty Python did nothing but a Spam, spam, spam, spam … spam, spam, spam, spam … joke. Every episode, a different nationality doing the spam song … it would get OLD … really fast. Thankfully, the boys created the lumberjack song … and the Twit Olympics … etc.

         BTW … Borat simply ripped-off Steve Martin’s … Two Wild and Crazy Guys. You have a sex with me now?

6. Borat is just Rick Mercer’s Talking to Americans, which is also smug, mean-spirited and unfunny.

7. I have never watched his movies, only seen the trailers and TV excerpts. That was enough for me.
   When he sees such trailers and ads, a good friend always says, “Thanks for the warning”. This serves me well for avoiding such trash. As a footnote, I have deliberately avoided seeing anything produced by Michael Moore as well.

   That movie – ‘Bruno’ – had some very darkly humourous bits, and deserves to be watched in its entirety.
