    1. Cree artist.
But does he live on the reserve or off?

Trudeau announces additional $75M for Indigenous Peoples living off reserves

According to the prime minister, the organizations that will receive this funding will address the “critical needs” of over one million Indigenous who live in these areas across the country.
“You need and deserve services that are culturally appropriate and that’s what we’re doing with today’s investment,” said Trudeau.

Can paint be considered a “critical need” for an artist? Or is it an “investment”?

      1. why not? what’s another 75 million when we already shovel 12 to 15 billion their way every year.

      2. Turdeau probably loves the painting. He’s the kind of wierdo that would pay big taxpayer dollars to hang it on his bedroom wall.

    2. Trudy looks like he’s smiling. Ah well….I’ve seen my tax dollars wasted in worse ways.

      1. But Blackie’s face is actually astonished that he should be included with the rest of the White Men who are solely responsible for the deaths of aboriginal women.
It doesn’t matter what Whitey does, with the exception of mass suicide, all the ills of the natives will forever be the White Man’s fault for every activist We Were Here First Nation person.
Indians who have jobs and businesses and work for a living have very little say in the Redman Grievance Industry.
I saw an exhibit of Monkman’s art a few years ago. He can paint and he sure does hate Whitey, except his money.

        1. Some 40 years ago, much of the church had become the sales and distribution network for the grievance industry.

I listened to a lot of Sunday sermons in which western whites were blamed for everything wrong in South Africa (communist whites were held up as saints, by the way). Also, there wasn’t a revolution or uprising in Central America that the clergy didn’t like and support. However, once those two topics were exhausted, Indians provided material for even more preaching.

Most of the people in the congregation I was associated with at the time were urban Vancouverites. I guess the only natives they ever saw in person were either tourist trap Indians (“let’s go to the reserve and see what they look like”) or professional Indians, namely those who made their living by whining about how bad they had it.

I knew better than to express my skepticism. Where I grew up in NE B. C. was within an hour or so’s drive from at least 3 reserves. I grew up with natives and I went to school with them. I knew what many of them were like and what they were capable of. But, being white and, in the eyes of the Lotuslanders, a hillbilly from the back woods, I was automatically one of the bad guys because I didn’t go along with the “bad white man” ideology.

    3. After Monkman’s painting spread through social media, the establishment media quickly attacked the Cree artist (attacks were led by CBC news and the Globe and Mail, in their usual one-sided fashion). So the guy quickly apologized. He broke the golden rule: thou shalt not ridicule our wonderful prime minister. Besides, aboriginal artists typically get government grant money.

      1. A former classmate of mine is a curator at the National Gallery. This piece needs to have pride of place there. Perhaps Keith Monkman could also give us an image of who was involved in Prince Dumpkopf’s creation. Maggie would probably pose nude for it.

    1. Whenever I analyze a company’s financial statements that are included with its annual report, I look for certain parameters, including the debt-to-equity ratio. There’s a rule of thumb as to what value would be acceptable, which is around 0.5, though it might vary from one type of business to another.

According to that article, this country’s ratio is nearly 3, well above which far in excess of what would a make a company worthy of consideration as an investment. I find it hard to believe that Morneau acts like he doesn’t understand that. Then again, I’m not married to someone who’s a member of one of the richest families in Canada.

Feminist icon speaks Truth to Power!
“I would vote for Joe Biden if he boiled babies and ate them. He wasn’t my candidate, but taking back the White House is that important. Four more years of Trump will replace what remains of our democracy with unchecked rule by kleptocrats, fascists, religious fanatics, gun nuts, and know-nothings. The environment? Education? Public health? The rights of voters, workers, immigrants, people of color, and yes, women? Forget them.”

Right on Sistah! Babies are an annoying burden!!

Omg I live in Toronto and did t even know anything like this existed! This looks like SO much fun…I don’t even care were I go, lol. I just want to spend the night on a train. The nature is beautiful ❤

    1. clips

I ride the train a coupla times a year. I’ve done the entire route Vancouver/Toronto.

The one thing the video doesn’t point out is the schedule. The train is never on time. You cannot make connections at either end because the train wont get there when it’s supposed to.
2 years ago I took the train east, we got to Toronto 24hrs late.

    2. When My family first immigrated to Canada, we landed in Montreal. We then took the Train to Vancouver..a 4-5 day trek in March of 1957….I was 4-1/2 at the time, I remember seeing Snow and more Snow…I thought at the time, I’d landed in Santa Clauses backyard.
Near lost our Dad who had gotten off at the Winnipeg station to go buy a loaf of bread…he literally had to run and jump on..!! Crazy.

Train is a very kewl way to travel especially overnight in a sleeper.
Not so much fun however if you’er on anything other than the Main line: Ex: Jasper to Prince Rupert…took that once many years later. Drunk native in one car – no one else in it..car reeked of booze.

Took the Canadian one time (1981), Calgary to Vancouver for New Years – now that was a blast. .!!

Fun travels but damned expensive these days.

  3. 1. “Opinion: We are infectious disease experts. It’s time to lift the COVID-19 lockdowns” – Like I said, we could eliminate all highway deaths if the speed limit were 20 kph.

    2. “World Health Organisation’s list of health threats, number one is climate change. Pandemics were down in third place, behind ‘non-communicable diseases’ such as diabetes and obesity” “But when you look at the dataset …you uncover a very different story, and one that is unequivocal: climate-related mortality has collapsed, and is now less than half the level it was in 1990, when the dataset starts”

WHO KNEW? Who knew that the WHO can’t get anything right?

      1. Butts? Would not surprise me.

Blackie? Nah, he is a useful idiot by conviction. He really believes that the only good white people are the Laurentian elites and the rest deserve to be purged for the betterment of humanity… same goes for prosperous yellow middle class that is not associated with Chicoms.

  4. Celebrating Ramadingdong Texan style:

FBI Says NAS Corpus Christi Gun Battle is ‘TerrorismRelated’, 2nd Person of Interest at Large

    https://news.usni.org/2020/05/21/shooting-at-nas-corpus-christi-security-force-member-injured-shooter-neutralized

“Earlier on Thursday, a U.S. official confirmed to USNI News the authorities believed a Navy security team killed an “Arab male” in a gun battle gate at the base.”

Must be a Coptic Christian or a Jew, maybe Yazidi.

    1. Nah, “dissaffected youth”.

Nothing like that “Alt Right” Middle Class White Male that terrorized NS a few weeks back.

    1. Quebekkie, when it had the chance to go, refused. I suspect Alberta, if it ever comes to a vote will follow course.

Alberta has changed so much in the past 4 decades to make it almost unrecognizable. It’s now as liberal as anyplace in the country.

    1. Stupid party, again.

“The four candidates currently qualified for the final ballot are O’Toole, Peter MacKay, Leslyn Lewis and Derek Sloan.”

And that pretty much is my preference ordering from the least appealing to the most… still any of them, even O’Toole, would be order of magnitude better than Blackie.

      1. O’TOOL is who got Karahalios booted in the first place. He automatically joins MacKay at the bottom of my list. Only one I’m likely to vote for is Derek Sloan, from whom I learned about the Party’s disgraceful punting of Karahalios in the first place.

After all, I live in the East so I can’t vote for what I actually want – WEXIT.

        1. Leslyn is good too, but not as good as Derek. I am afraid it will be neither. Stupid party as I said. Still anything to get rid of Blackie and his junta is my priority.

        2. “O’TOOL is who got Karahalios booted in the first place.”

Good for him. This needs to happen more often. The CPC would be better of if SoCons just got raptured away.

    2. Karahalios should run for leadership of the PPC.

A PPC leadership convention could generate more excitement for the PPC.

    1. “Blanchet is clear; Quebec independence is his avowed objective. ”

Well we have some common objectives then. Let’s build on that.

      1. Best wishes. Maybe they will help achieve what Alberta separatism won’t on its own.

      1. Give him all he wants – the Canadian dollar will be printed on toilet paper, and worth about as much as used toilet paper, once the country splits-up.

Like I said about the UN wanting $122 trillion to save the Earth from global warming – I’ll pay them that much, provided they accept Zimbabwe dollars at par.

      2. Kebek with equalization outside of Canada is better than Kebek with equalization within Canada. Besides the equalization would not last long once they’re gone.

  5. Chris Selley at the National Post writes about how Big Chief Gay Eagle With No Balls gave the hereditary dictators in B.C. everything they wanted. Illegal blockades work!(if your an indian)

  6. Breaking: a Pakistani airliner, on a Lahore-Karachi run, crashed with 100 people on board.

  7. Nothing much more on the leaked Biden phone call tapes. Am I missing something here? Would have thought there would have been a bigger splash or is there a legitimate explanation to attaching loan guarantees to political placements.

    1. Why would the maim street media report anything negative about Joe Biden?

Biden reminds me of the doddering old guys who ruled the Soviet Union.

Except there most of the population did not believe the state media.

  8. Western Canadians seem to have reassumed their roles as 2nd class citizens in this country. If the actions of the LPC over the past 5 years have not galvanized some action to change this status then it never will. IMHO the CPC is no different than the LPC . It has resumed its top down attitude and the focus is on the east.

This is not simply a economic rejection of eastern attitudes it is also cultural. Here in SE BC we do not hear about much Wexit action. Ideally in the next election support for Wexit would drain enough CPC voters away to force the CPC into a rump LPC lite regional eastern party. There is no place for them in the West. They have betrayed Reform and many of the original group have cashed in to nice corporate careers. Wexit needs active leadership and better communication.

    1. Well nature does abhor a vacuum.

Most of the supporters of WEXIT are not into it to destroy the country, they have just given up giving so much in the name of unity only to watch it’s wealth get squandered on vote buying in the MTV. Such schemes namely at the detriment of the west’s desire to be economically self sufficient.
The WEXIT supporters want Ottawa out of their lives where as the so-called Quebec separatists only want to use the threat to extort from a Ottawa.
It’s why liberals and Quebec separatism go hand in hand.
The liberals know they can depend on the vote buying to keep the seats in and around seat rich Montreal and the separatists can depend on liberals to cave to their demands.

  9. As part of the mainstream media’s continuous efforts to uncover new categories of grievances against “white Canada”, the Ottawa Citizen (Ottawa’s largest newspaper) has published an opinion piece from a self-described “advocate for the human rights of prisoners and people with precarious immigration status” who also currently happens to be incarcerated. The author alleges “white privilege” exists among the prisoners at the Ottawa jail.

    https://ottawacitizen.com/opinion/budlakoti-the-ottawa-jail-is-no-vacation-especially-during-covid-19/wcm/411808c3-6295-4736-8035-ee2292ed7b37/

    1. Joe, thanks for the post. I would not be surprised about this. Look for a wealth tax on the 1-2% richest houseeholds. it’s a popular idea, and, if it comes about in the next budget, the media cartel would give it their seal of approval. There will be a slew of new taxes and tax hikes to pay for Trudeau’s daily spe doing announcements.

      1. – and that would be really really great. No sarcasm there – I mean it – because the wealthy have shown themselves adept at tax-dodging. They have three avenues of escape –

        1) use their connections to get themselves exempted, or get the LIE-berals to give them back more than they pay (this only works if you own Seagram’s or Loblaws)

        2) earn less. “Sorry, nurse, I know that procedure was scheduled eight months ago but I’m unable to do it. Receptionist? – cancel all my Thursday-afternoon and Friday appointments, for the foreseeable future.”
” – But Doctor, that’s over a hundred appointments in the next two months alone…”
“That’s right – and I’ll earn so much less that I’ll drop out of the 1% tax bracket, and I’ll actually take home extra.”
” – But there’s nobody else in the country who can do those procedures!”
“Maybe the Finance Minister should’ve considered that before he decided to buy his next mansion with my wallet – oh and, if ANY politician tries to book an appointment with me, tell him where to stick it!”

        3) Leave. Worked for K.C. Irving…

It’s been tried often in the ‘States – wealth taxes drive the rich out, and end-up costing their State instead of earning anything extra. Looks good on the governments that try this – remember when Moroneau proclaimed all small business owners “tax cheats”??

    1. What’s so unusual about that? We have a former drama teacher who identifies as a prime minister and, worse yet, thinks he’s a god.

  10. An article from the Toronto Sun yesterday. It seems one Amir Attaran, a medical scientist from the University of Ottawa, had his Public Health Canada grants terminated in recent weeks:
    https://torontosun.com/news/national/professor-alleges-retaliation-for-criticizing-public-health-trudeau

It seems the good professor had the temerity to actually criticize Dr. Tam, Justin Trudeau and Public Health Canada’s policies, in fighting the Wuhan virus, at House of Commons hearings. His research colleagues, thus, wanted his name taken off joint grant applications.

Note that Professor Attaran is a lefty. A check on available Election Canada records show that, up to 2008 or 2009, he gave mucho dolares to the federal Liberals. Since then he has given his donations to the New Democratic party. During the Stephen Harper years, CBC News had him as a go-to talking head, given his proclivity to attack Prime Minister Harper during Ceeb interviews. But the CBC hasn’t interviewed him of late.

Recall that when Professor Jordan Peterson came out as a dissident conservative years ago, the federal SSHRCC agency cut off all of his grants. This is how the grant game is played by our federal government.

    1. Not only is Attaran a lefty, he is an outspoken and vicious one. When Jordan Peterson’s mental illness and dependency on tranquilizers was revealed earlier this year, Attaran turned to Twitter to celebrate the news and called it “KARMA”.

“Professor of law and medicine at the University of Ottawa Amir Attaran tweeted, “Jordan Peterson, oracle to gullible young men, preacher of macho toughness, and hectoring bully to ‘snowflakes’, is addicted to strong drugs and his brain is riddled with ‘neurological damage.’ #KARMA.”
      https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/agar-the-awful-responses-to-rush-limbaugh-and-jordan-peterson

  11. Trudeau and Tam are still going with the refrain, “stay home, stay safe” while talking about the second wave.
How long can this go on without a collapse?

  12. FOX News is still having fun with the Cuomo brothers — where on CNN host Chris Cuomo interviews his brother New York Governor Andrew Cuomo:
    https://www.foxnews.com/media/cnn-cuomo-brothers-insufferable-interviews-criticized

Observers have noted that, in the past 20 CNN interviews with Andrew Cuomo, not once has any interviews saw fit to ask him about the 20,000 virus deaths in seniors’ homes — and why the good governor ordered coronavirus patients to go to these homes, triggering the mass deaths. In this last CNN brothers interview, Andrew Cuomo joked by brining out a huge Q-tip, the two brothers hamming it up for laughs.

  13. Today once again Great Leader Kim Sung Trudeau refused to say anything negative about China when asked by his loyal, drooling media. He also will be phoning muslim leaders in the Middle East today to push for that UN security seat. Our little dictator explained that the UN security seat is a great way to promote global warming scams.

  14. Biden: Ich bin black.

C’mon man, “If you have a problem figuring it out whether you’re for me or Trump, you ain’t black”

IOW, if you’re black, you cannot be a Republican, or at least one that votes for Trump. Biden writes GOP’s ads.

While it works for me, not Democrat, iow against segregation and the KKK, and not black, this might not go over well.

Like Biden’s advisor who tried to get him out of there, again, the Dememtomedia will have to keep this very quiet.

    https://twitter.com/charliekirk11/status/1263823678715789312

  15. Equalization is entrenched Marxism. “From Each According To His Means, To Each According To His Needs” Karl Marx/P.E. Trudeau. Equalization Trudeau’s word for Karl Marx’s Philosophy

    1. “From Each According To His Means, To ME According To MY Needs” – fixed it for ya!

  16. If you understand what this graph is saying. Be prepared for Hyperinflation. This is the USA M2 supply. They have crossed the tipping point in 3 months, it took Germany 3-4 years to get there, this time it only took 3 months, there is no going back. Look at Jan. graph look at April graph. Remember the USA gets a sniffle we get pneumonia. In this case the USA has pneumonia.
    https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/money-supply-m2

  17. For years the idea of a tax strike has popped up as a way to get our stupid politicians attention.
If everybody stayed home for a week the loss the revenue to the parasitic government would be quite something.
Of course it never came to anything, cause so many cannot afford to miss a day, never mind a week..
Only now,2020,the brain dead leeches did it to themselves.
In a panic they ordered the tax payers(those makers) to stay home or else..
They continued to pay all the freeloaders, even though these were ‘working from home’ and pretended to pay the taxpayers as well..
    With money not in existence.
Now the cost of government has run unchecked for 2 month with no income (for govt),they have no idea how to restart the economy because they never understood they are nonproductive overhead at best, with zero knowledge of trade, production or creation.
So us cranky old farts finally got that “Tax strike”.
Seems we should be careful what we ask for.
Retreating to a new country, may be the last hope we have.Western Alienation needs well defined borders.
    Confederated Canada is done for.
And next will come all the really good government moves, that proved so successful in Greece,Venezuela,Zimbabwe..Yes indeed, wealth tax, social fairness, death tax and death by taxes..
But never will the “New middle Class” see a pay cut,I predict ever greater pay raises and future promises right up to collapse..
    Forward.

    1. Glad you see what is coming. Perhaps you understand what the chart means that I posted above. Here is an explanation from 2012, It is 2020 of course. In 2014 the Federal Total Public debt in Canada was 4.1Trillion, They just said that with Trudeau’s massive stimulus probably another 1 Trillion. So we are at 5-6T I debt. There is no fixing this, they have crossed the tipping point of no reversing that debt. There simply is not enough taxpayers. Canada as a nation is over. It is really over. All we can do now is protect ourselves. We are well and truly Venezuela North. And here is a tip. Keep your damn gun. Venezuelans regret handing theirs over to Chavez. We have our Chavez. https://www.businessinsider.com/hyperinflation-bread-costs-3b-2012-10?r=US&IR=T

    1. 1. Funny no mention of zinc, which was part of the recommended protocols from the initial research.

      2. Reading the Lancet report there are a large number of we corrected for age, sex etc etc etc.

      3. Study did not address prophylactic use.

      4. UnMe’s drug of choice, Remdesivir, also has studies showing higher death rates.

      5. Show me a drug that’s working. Lots have shown promise in lab tests, but none are really working.

      6. re ETTD. We could take the Bidenite approach of letting ‘science’ decide using evidence based decisions. Guess that’s why Democrat Governors such as Cuomo, decided to send elderly people sick with COVID-19 into long term care facilities. According to Bidenites there was no evidence it would cause harm. BSKP. Biden science kills people.

Note: NYC had the worst case of COVID-19 on the planet, yet they didn’t use all the medical facilities the Feds helped them set up. Given these empty facilities, why oh why did the Democrats send COVID patients into long term care facilities to infect others? Answer? BSKP. Biden Science Kills People.

      6. Ventilators, of which Cuomo said he needed 30,000 (based on science) killed a lot of people. Many doctors have switched to oxygen supplied to the nostrils and putting patients on their sides and stomachs.

Democrats attacked Trump when he said he wasn’t sending any more ventilators to New York. Cuomo still had a warehouse with lots of ventilators they weren’t using. Yet Cuomo wanted to strip the country of ventilators.

NYC paid the price for Democrats saying get out and party in crowded places. BSKP

      1. 1. No serious evidence for the ‘triple pack’ either

        2. That’s how it’s done

        3. It’s a study of studies. The increase in deaths would probably make it hazardous for that application too

        4. Cite? I am really interested.

        5. Convalescent plasma and Remdem seem to be what’s working now. That’s besides the point.

        6. “But the other team!” = deflection. If the president were a remotely competent man he’d be tearing into those governors and would have the standing to do so, and we’d be better off. Also stop trying to be clever. You’re not clever.

        7. (numbering fail) The data is not clear on ventilator death rate but right now I’m not seeing evidence that ventilators are killing people.

        1. 1. There is as yet, no serious evidence for any of the COVID drugs. Most clinical double blind studies are still under way.

          2. “That’s how its done.” That is exactly the problem. With that many variables in an observational study we should seriously look at the conclusions of the study. When you have to correct for that many variables, it’s time for more work. Indeed the author’s of the Lancet article say,

“Our study has several limitations. The association of decreased survival with hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine treatment regimens should be interpreted cautiously. Due to the observational study design, we cannot exclude the possibility of unmeasured confounding factors”
“Randomised clinical trials will be required before any conclusion can be reached regarding benefit or harm of these agents in COVID-19 patients.”

          3. “The increase in deaths would probably make it hazardous for that application too” Maybe, maybe not. The large number of people taking the drug for malaria would suggest not. The Lancet author’s admonition “Randomised clinical trials will be required before any conclusion can be reached regarding benefit or harm of these agents in COVID-19 patients.” would also seem to apply.

          4. Remdesivir was discontinued for Ebola treatments “because of an increase in death among patients taking it, meaning it did not help those patients”

Latest Remdesivir results at this link: https://www.statnews.com/2020/05/22/covid-19-study-details-benefits-of-treatment-with-remdesivir-and-also-its-limitations/ A couple of key points:

“It’s clear from the publication that the study was stopped prior to the completion of a significant number of patients,” said Steven Nissen, a cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic. “By stopping it early the scientific community was deprived of the opportunity to determine whether remdesivir can or cannot reduce mortality.”

Peter Bach, a pulmonologist who is the director of the Center for Health Policy and Outcomes at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, worried that it appears that slightly more placebo subjects started out in the more severe groups. This, he said, could mean that the overall effect is “potentially exaggerated.”

          5. “Convalescent plasma and Remdem seem to be what’s working now.”

Mayo Clinic says (4 days ago) “It’s not yet known if convalescent plasma therapy will be an effective treatment for COVID-19.” This was the point of my item 5.

          What is Remdem?

          6. Looks like we agree the governors dropped the ball big time.

          7. Re ventilators: https://www.statnews.com/2020/04/08/doctors-say-ventilators-overused-for-covid-19/

“Older patients who do survive risk permanent cognitive and respiratory damage from being on heavy sedation for many days if not weeks and from the intubation,”
” But if oxygen can’t cross into the blood from the lungs in the first place, those measures, especially greater force, may prove harmful. High levels of oxygen impair the lung’s air sacs, while high pressure to force in more oxygen damages the lungs.”

There are other articles which say that doctors are trying less invasive procedures and saving more people than putting them on ventilators.

    2. Why was it one of the safest and most widely used drugs known to man until recently? I’m guessing it was used as a Hail Mary treatment on a lot of dying people.

      1. I think you got it right. It was one of the most widely used drugs, and it showed potential in the lab at hindering if not stopping the virus.

Additional work showed it had more potential with used with an antibiotic and zinc, especially if given very early in treatment.

In the Bidenite fanatasy world, a drug has to be 100% effective with zero side effects, otherwise it’s no good.

There are no quick easy treatments for flu pandemics.

I listened to the first Trump mention of Hydroxychloroquine. He said it showed great promise. Could be a game changer. He ALSO said we might find out it doesn’t work.

Joe Biden would take years to get anything tried, because it would have to be carefully tested for many months on a small group of people. Then a larger group, then even larger. Joe’s scientists would do lots of papers but their would be lots of dead people.

There is also NO guarantee of a vaccine any time soon.

        1. It’s not safe RTFA. It’s killing people.

“In the Bidenite fanatasy world, a drug has to be 100% effective with zero side effects, otherwise it’s no good.”

          Got that strawman good.

“He said it showed great promise. Could be a game changer. He ALSO said we might find out it doesn’t work.”

Then he later claimed that people should ‘just try it, what have you got to lose?’ because apparently medicine can be tried like new clothes

          https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/trump-coronavirus-hydroxychloroquine-anti-malaria-drug-latest-a9447796.html

    1. “Step up to the plate, Justin – you WILL pay us or we WILL table a vote of non-confidence!”

      – and then most of what Little Potato pays them goes straight into their election war chest.

  18. Coming soon, more Liberal meddling in one’s business:

No, people, being forced to comply with Liberal Party values is not good for private enterprise. Then again, since when did anyone in the federal cabinet ever run a company or read a balance sheet?

    1. Notice the parallels between what China is doing internally and what’s happening here in (what used to be) Canada. It wouldn’t surprise me if Dear Leader is getting instructions from the PRC, which would explain what he’s doing and how.

      1. He probably has $ b i l l i o n s $ in an off shore account and the Foundation is just petty cash. See his spiffy new tailor-made suits lately? The tailor came to him.

          “Queen of the Night” aria
          from Wolfie’s “The Magic Flute!”

          (Sorry, Wolfie!)

          Good one B A!

    1. Missed seeing them in N.B. ’79 — came this close but no dice, damn-it, they’re good!
Randy Bachman starts @ ~ 6:00 with the meat, but listen to the whole thing!
