    200 Republicans sign brief telling court to overturn Roe vs Wade… Trump is really having an effect. This impeachment fiasco I believe, has sunk in; there is no longer ANYTHING that is off the table…

  2. The fundamental question in infanticide, is; are you dealing with a human?

    If you are dealing with a human, it has the same rights as the mother. “Abortion” is no different than honour killing.

    If you make the argument that it is not human, just tissue, then how can something that is not human, become human? Can a rock become human? Can a dog? What can become human, and what cannot?

    If being human is simply defined by location, or some other criteria, then what are your plans when you are declared to be not human?

    1. The classic argument here is that a pre-formed human isn’t human. It’s in the early stage of becoming what we consider a human being. It’s not location…it’s age.

      1. The classic response is to ask when does a “pre-formed human” become a human. Since we are speaking of a legal issue here, the answer has to be definite, and based on scientific fact.
        So, if it’s age, at what age? And what precisely happens at that age to make it “what we consider a human being”?

    3. Generally a person is thought to be alive while their heart is beating, regardless of brain function. Some folks live for years in non responsive states while their brains appear to be nearly shut off, all the while that heart beats on and as long as they’re being fed. When the heart stops, everything else follows in short order.

      My opinion is that life begins when that heartbeat starts. I know it’s not a popular opinion in Canada, or Europe. The question isn’t “is this opinion popular”, it’s “when does life begin”. Everyone with life, passes through the stage of being inside a mom, so that’s part of life. It’s not as though you’re not alive because you haven’t been born to the “outside of your mom” stage of your life.
      If a person is only a person after being birthed, then any rationale can be used to decide when your time is up, there’s no corresponding foil to being “unbirthed” … it’s simply a decision that others may take of those deemed to be inconvenient, or unwanted.

      You start living when your heart starts, you stop living when your heart stops.

      1. I’m not suggesting accepting it. But accept that there are things you have control over and things you don’t. People fighting against abortion have achieved nothing in the past 50 years.
        Social conservatives could focus their energy better by focusing on themselves and their immediate local existence.

    Liverpool as destiny’s annointed is actually getting a little scary. Klopp wants to ditch the FA Cup, so he puts up a side with half reserves and half juniors who never played for the senior team (playing on the Carabao Cup tie against Villa doesn’t count) against their rivals Everton who’s at essentially full strength. But the Anfield magic is such that this “Liverpool” side wins anyway. Not only that, they have apparently solved their depth problem with the kids able to play, especially at Left Back and Right Back, where heretofore Alexander Arnold and Robertson were essentially irreplaceable (Milner is a different kind of back.)

The people of Canada have far more faults than they are prepared to admit to, Canada is a very large piece of dirt, now just how many people deserve that piece of dirt is questionable. My ancestors were among those that brought language and education to Canada. They took the indians out of the stone age. Remember they did not have the wheel when we came here, or written language, but I am sure we are responsible for all their ills, that is why we give them 12 billion plus a year from what we stupid morons work for. I hope they succeed in cutting off all development in Canada so they can return to a hunter gatherer state. When all is said and done humans are worthless.
