On the evening of Feb 24, 2001 Justin Trudeau breezed into the palatial Fairmont hotel overlooking Vancouver harbour for a charity gala.
 
It was supposed to be a formal event with an “Arabian Nights” theme including belly dancers and Middle Eastern music.
 
Some 500 guests showed up, the men in tuxedos. Except Mr Trudeau. He had painted his face, hands and feet black, donned billowing robes, and placed a giant turban on his head. Not one other person was in blackface.
 
If Mr Trudeau felt any embarrassment at his jaw-dropping and racially offensive faux pas, then he didn’t show it.

He lectures women on feminism, ‘coloreds’ on being of color, poor on being poor, rich on being rich, scientists on science because he is the ‘anointed one’. His wisdom and insight are just so vital that the nation will fail without him. Even when caught donning blackface it is not his fault it is the Canadian culture’s fault and he is there to offer insight and wisdom. Sadly he is not alone in his elitism and whole generations have grown up thinking that they are the elite and entitled to tell everyone else how they must run their lives.

      I hope someone finds her and asks just one question: As a co-worker of Justin’s at the time, regardless of whether it bothered you or not, did you invite him to grope you in that photo, or did he do it without asking?

  10. I guess Canadians should realize that all scoops concerning Trudeau are going to have to come from foreign media. Did Trudeau’s PMO make the Canadian media sign non-disclosure agreements to not publish anything embarrassing about Trudeau in exchange for the bailout cash? Or, as I mentioned before, did Trudeau agree to the media bailouts because they threatened to publish these type of embarrassing photos and stories about Trudeau? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Regardless, the media certainly appear to be bought and paid for.

    Given the close friend and family links between the media and politicians in Ontario/Ottawa, I doubt rumors and stories about Trudeau’s scandals aren’t well known. This blackface incident certainly supports the idea that the Canadian media has been protecting Trudeau for years.

    What will the international press reveal next?

    Reflecting on what is reported here, an alternative explanation might well have been that Mr Trudeau was either tasked or volunteered to be the actor as part of the event; but if that was the case one would think he would have trotted that out as the rationale from the get-go. Which suggest to me that the “belly dancers” were official props and Mr Trudeau’s stunt was his own initiative and a surprise to management. Which again leads me to wonder how many other liberties he might have taken without understanding that his “sense of privilege” was flawed; and if this led to management deciding that he just did not fit in.

    On another level all together, in addition to the wandering hands, one has to look into his eyes and wonder if he had not indulged is some form of recreational drug to set him self up for the performing this stunt… Don’t know, but, in light of Mr Trudeau’s other dissembling admissions, it would be a good question…

    Not sure what to say, I asked him how his campaign was going. Only when he turned around and spoke to me in a coherent sentence with no ums, ahs, or lies did I realize my mistake… it was just some regular Sikh dude with an unusually dark complexion.
