      I never paid any attention to David Akin. His comment about Trump’s sweetie and hope etc. mocking a president who is willing to take immense personal and presidential risks to assure peace with N K … or at least to try to de-fang a tyrant with what amounts to serious peer pressure. Killing him with kindness. Shining a light on KJ Un is good medicine. Keep him engaged. Talking is better than not talking. But what does Akin know about that tactic … he is too busy pimping his hatred for Donald Trump … or so it seems.

      See him in the peanut gallery, a place for small people, David Akin chooses to make a complete asshole out of himself by insulting Mr. Trump and subsequently his supporters … all 63 Plus million.

      David Akin is an asshole plain and simple. I shall continue to not pay attention to him.

  2. It should be really interesting to see what happens if the Conservatives win a majority this fall.

    I predict that the Courts, the Media and all the other Usual Suspects will move Heaven and Earth to overturn a democratically elected Con government. (a la Hilary without the opposition…….Canadians… you know)

    The Liberal Party is too close to it’s longtime goal of Worldwide Globalism through the backdoor of The Great Climate Scam.

    Given the lack of Media scrutiny, combined with the ideology of the current leadership, it appears that The Great Climate Scam has approval all around and Worldwide Globalism/Fascism/Communism is on the menu.

    1. If the Conservatives gain electoral traction, count on a DeMarxist/mediocracy slime show before, during and after the election.
      Our establishment harbours the same ruling class attitudes, they’re just as dishonest though not quite as cunning.
      But like their southern bedfellows, truth, integrity and civility have no place in their pursuit of raw political power.
      If you view their actions through that power at all cost prism, then it’s easy understand their counterproductive behaviour.

  4. People have doubts that Mueller’s coming to Canada if Scheer wins… I’d say it’s a certainty. The only way liberals lose elections is if Putin interferes. Every election loss by a leftist is illegitimate by definition.

        They will have to try some other false narrative, likely claiming success for our hard work.
        Their only accomplishment has been simultaneously raising taxes and deficits while destroying productivity.
        The problem is they’re just getting started.
        How many Canadians with mortgage helper suites will find that out, but too late?

    I’m not defending Trudeau but he was NOT ignored by Bolsonaro or whoever that was sitting to his left. In the Radio-Canada clip linked to above — which Stephen Taylor either did not see or purposely cut Global’s clip to make a point — we can see Trudeau about to extend his hand but notices someone else extending a hand to Bolsonaro, so he cedes, pointing to the other person, and eventually shakes hands with Bolsonaro.

    What critics should have noticed is Trudeau’s obvious discomfort at sitting next to the Chinese leader. Rather than avoiding Chinese President Xi Jinping’s eyes, Trudeau should have looked him straight in the eyes and told him to release the Canadians unlawfully detained in China.

    IMO, David Akin is one of the few Canadian journalists I trust to usually present an accurate report of events. On this particular incident, I don’t know what Akin said or did but it would surprise me to learn he submitted to a PMO demand.

      I wrote my comment before reading the thread following this one. There’s a tweet there by David Akin in which he refers to Trump, saying: “And he’s, like, crossing his fingers, his sweetie is going to show up?” “Sweetie”?
      Now, THAT is truly silly, coming from David Akin.

    4. Gabby,thanks for posting that video.I saw it earlier at one of the news sites but couldn’t find it again. The conservative blogosphere has gone all ecstatic over a supposed slight that never happened,and they NEVER show Bolsonaro enthusiastically shaking hands with Trudeau seconds after.

      As I posted at Spencer Fernando’s earlier today, misrepresentation by a conservative is just as bad as at a liberal site, doing so affects the credibility of the site with discerning readers/viewers.
      I utterly detest Trudeau, would rather see any politician in Canada in the PM’s Office, but he was NOT slighted by Bolsonaro and it does no one any credit to claim he was.
      Conservative sites love to hold themselves out as morally superior to liberal sites, but have a bad habit of lapsing into this type of bullshit when it suits them.

  18. I guess I saw a different video of the incident or is this a case of people only see what they want to see. When Trudeau sat down he was completely out of his depth, looking around him completely bewildered. He touched Bolsonaro on the arm as if to say “I’m here.” and as he extended his hand Bolsonaro turned away to shake hands with someone else. Trudeau then touched Bolsonaro on the arm a second time at which point Bolsonaro, politely turned and shook hands then turned away, leaving Trudeau to busy himself with his “Man Purse” as he took out his computer or note book. The Chinese dictator’s re-action was truly the picture worthy of a thousand words.

  19. Why would Trudeau appear “out of his depth”? He’s been to mtgs before and depending on who is present, as CAnada he sits next to in this case BRazil and CHina. I’ve seen him ignored like this before and he carries it off very well as my ego would be crushed if it happened more than once. Even I have to give him credit for reaching out to the other leaders. He’s giving them the benefit of the doubt so he just gently reminds them: I’m here in case you haven’t noticed. Any parent would teach their child the same good manners. We, as Canadians, are polite with no clout at all. Andrew will be ignored in the same way when he sits in the Canada chair.
