  1. thingy on the history channel last nite about european conditions post may 45.
all the german women beaten and raped as the russkies swept over from the east.
more germans hitailing out of czechoslovakia getting lined up and shot in the ditch.
Im bellowing at the telly demanding to know if hitler is still on the ballot.
    etc.
boo hoo hoo. ya its sad what the elderly and preschoolers went thru in that time *courtesy all their adults who helped put the most evil man in the 20th century into power*.
mao was more deadly, but adolph just needed more time to outperform the communist.

  2. I recognized a few scenes that I have seen as stillshots but it was mostly new and consistently the best quality moving footage I have seen of that period.

  3. Boy was that an easy walk on the beach film….No problems just a smooth operation……..The editing
& choice of footage for the public smells of WWII buy Bonds propaganda

    1. Some US Marines were denied Machine Guns because Command feared friendly Fire

    2. US Ships did not venture as close as planned, resulting in landing craft been a target longer

3 The Air power navigation problems resulting in few finding their target… LE May corrected the stupidity
of the targeting secrecy (long after D DAY) resulting in the Navigation info been only available just before takeoff… May required ALL possible Targets to be briefed & Navigation notes allowed… The only secret was the choice of which Target was selected & briefed before takeoff….. Air Navigation was a new & complicated technology requiring training… The Bomber success jumped from 45% to 80 % under LE May

    1. a LOT of people learned a lesson in WW II. dont fcuk with Curtis LeMay.
his strength was he learned as he went along. if a tactic didnt work, try another one.
if u get a chance, watch ‘Race for the Superbomb’. they quote LeMay.

      1. And like “Bomber” Harris he understood that win or lose it meant a lot of your own guys getting killed, so you were in it to win and that meant you had to kill a lot more of the other side’s people.

  4. No comment on the video, but just a note. Your website is appearing lost, blocked, and errored out, many times over the last few days. I tried different browsers, computers and locations and received the same result. I tried VPNs, Apple, Windows, Android and even a Linux. (Yeah, I have a lot of stuff). Someone is tampering with your web traffic.

    1. Fred, Same here..I have had some success by rebooting (clearing cookies ETC) and signing onto my wife’s Account.. but bad stuff is on the Glen… I get some of my posts erased (switched to another web page) if composed on line. I now Compose off-line & a quick paste on-line… This suggests Brennan’s Spooks are slow

  5. D Day was a slaughter. It was successful because of an error on Hitler’s part and the massive number of men thrown into the battle. I heard a vet from Quebec say that when he and his fellow soldiers realized that going out the ramp of the landing craft would get them gunned down in a second they jumped over the side, made it to the beach and actually survived the war.

    1. Doubt anyone would agree that D-Day was a slaughter, certainly not after Dieppe. There were worse battles to come in the days ahead. One of the men on our cenotaph was killed on June 6 shortly after the vehicle he was in exploded because it was carrying ammunition when struck. There were no remains in that case. Men being unloaded in deep water who drowned was horrific. But, all-in-all, that landing was a well-run operation (Not mentioning the US mistake that cost them so many lives.) An invasion of that size went much more smoothly than one would have expected. All those men and all that equipment on the narrow streets and roads of France was a staggering success.

      1. “Doubt anyone would agree that D-Day was a slaughter, certainly not after Dieppe.”

Yes. My grandfather, a WWI veteran of the trenches, reenlisted to fight in WWII. He was captured on the Dieppe raid, wounded in the leg, bullet went into his femur. The Germans operated to remove it, without anesthetic, and he spent the rest of the war in a POW camp. He said they mainly fed them black bread. He never ate anything but white after that.
He died of leukemia in ’74. Likely from the leg wound.

    1. “Claveau says the only reason she ended her military career was because of exposure to tear gas, an injury which still pains her to this day. ”

First I’ve heard of it. You get gassed pretty close to the beginning of training. Is everyone in the military now a sissy or a girl? My father spent 5 1/2 years in the war and seemed to enjoy every minute of it. I had 3 years of peace time army and enjoyed every minute of it. It was like grown up playtime.

      1. Well there is always at least one idiot who can’t follow instructions on how to get a good seal on their gas mask during training. We had one fool who took at least 3 heaping breaths of tear gas; and had to be hauled out of the gas hut and spent the next hour puking themselves silly.

Of course this is orders of magnitude different, than being raked by “Hitler’s saw”, the MG-42, and having a “Hun-tastic” day.

Unfortunately, for the “Greatest generation” the lessons learned have been in vain; as we’ve permitted our doctors to become killers via abortion on demand and euthanasia; all courtesy of the Supreme Geniuses on the courts.

For those who haven’t paid attention it was doctors who were the first killers under the Nazi regime. cf Aktion T4 Apparently, letting doctors become killers doesn’t end well for the patient or society in general. As Dr. Karl Brandt noted “You can hang the Hippocratic Oath on the surgery theatre wall but nobody reads it.”

“Under Dutch law, children as young as 12 are permitted to seek euthanasia, but they need a parent’s consent until they’re 16. (A reminder that here in the United States, young men can’t rent a car until they’re 25 years old without an additional surcharge.)

Here we are, trying to prevent teen suicide, and reduce the teen-suicide rate, and a Western country has decreed that if teenagers decide that a traumatic experience makes their lives no longer worth living, they’ll provide the means and assistance.”

And then to cap it all off we are told endlessly about the evils of CO2 and how it is “gassing the planet”. Go figure…what tragic stupidity passes for ‘civilization’ next?

Today’s generation knows the price of everything, via their ubiquitous phones, and the VALUE OF NOTHING.

        Cheers

  6. The footage has a kind of heightened contemporary look to it, like modern video shot in B&W, and I think it’s because it’s been digitally messaged to add intervening frames, with motion split between two original frames, to raise the frame rate to something like 50 fps. It looks smoother than even normal 30fps tv video.

  7. Remember Antifa and BLM equating their Hillary inspired thuggery with these ultra brave men who stormed Normandy?

Trump’s great speech and Macron’s classy act helping a veteran rise to meet his president should make them all ashamed.

But they’re not, because their intolerance is others’ bigotry and their violence is others’ provocation. Lenin would have been proud.

I’ll take the leadership of those white men over the moribund and incoherent babbling of our self-appointed ruling class, who day by day show more similarity to the fascists our greatest generation had to defeat at such great cost in blood and treasure.

We will remember them. Never again can we allow fascists to rule us to their ends and to determine the fabric of our society.

    1. The cabal dragging Canada down the shit hole is really far more clever than the old time fascists: look at Climate Barbie: no one will ever impute evil to her actions because most people just write it off to woke dimwittedness. Ditto on Trudles. About the most ruthless looking any of them ever gets is Andy Sche(m)er, and he doesn’t exactly peg the evil meter, does he? Just a nice stroll to the golden hued future of socialism.

  8. Mr. Winston Churchill, Mr. Stalin, and President Roosevelt? Must be another myopic American production.
