The Libranos: SNC Lavalin

“There’s much more to the story that should be told.”

This is Philpott’s first interview since she resigned over Trudeau’s handling of the SNC-Lavalin controversy. She believes, as she put it, that “there’s much more to the story that needs to be told” but that it can’t come out because “there’s been an attempt to shut down the story”—an attempt she attributed to the Prime Minister and his close advisors.

But she is also keenly aware, because she has been hearing from Liberal colleagues, that “there are people who are afraid that they’re not going to get elected because of what I did.” As she described that anger, the former minister said: “My only way of living with myself on that, is that this is not my fault. I did not start this.” Now she is trying to figure out how to see it through.

Update: Grab a chocolate bar, and bask in his éloquence.

  1. “after Conservative MP Scott Reid accused the prime minister of sneaking a bagel under his desk.”

So the Conservatives took the bait and served up the distracting headline that the Liberals so desperately wanted and the bought-and-paid for press so eagerly printed.

    1. I didnt see it as a distraction. The f’ker was embarrassed and prolonged the torture.

Is bongo your guy Jamie? Just askin’

      1. Men in these parts don’t have a “guy”.

But just by your question, it looks like you’re torn between Scheer-the-Steer or Jagmeet.

        1. JM:

          No I’ll vote CPC.

There is only one option if you dont like the libranos. A vote for anyone but CPC is a vote for
bongo. No other party has a snowball’s chance in hell of forming government.

Are the CPC a conservative party? In Canadian terms they are. That is the option. So if you want change and want to see the libranos gone you vote CPC.

I’m not particularly enthusiastic about Scheer either but this is Canada and he is the only option.

          1. No, there are other options if principles matter:

            (a) If you’re sick and tired of voting for the least smelly of a stinking lot, stay home.
            (b) Libertarian
            (c) PPC

If I have a Libertarian or a PPC candidate running, I’ll consider that. Otherwise, I’ll be content with (a).

I have voted Conservative all my life and I’m tired to death of having my vote taken for granted by arseholes who sing Thank God I’m a Country Boy during the campaigns, then stick us with legislation designed to keep the urban vegans and greenpeacers happy once they’re in power.

Doug Ford is just the latest example of that kind of bullshitting Conservative politician. And as for Scheer, it had to happen – sooner or later someone would come along who made Joe Clark look like Rambo.

        2. If one of your options includes not caring about changing the government then it really doesn’t matter how you vote.

In my voting lifetime I’ve destroyed my ballot on occasion, stayed home in protest and did the
          write in thing.

I consider myself a libertarian and fiscal conservative who has low expectations of government.

Maybe the CPC wont even live up to my low expectations but as the only option of change I’m willing to give them a chance. If they do nothing more than slow down the rate of stealing that is going on with the libranos and their quebek friends that is a win for Canada.

          It’s a sad situation I agree.

          1. “If one of your options includes not caring about changing the government then it really doesn’t matter how you vote.”

You can change the government, but that won’t change the fact that ALL of our main political parties suck-hole to the vote-rich urban centers, where the average voter is sissified, dependant, and helpless. So, regardless of which crew controls the H of C, you can expect an ever-increasing torrent of legislation that erodes liberties, increases the power of the state, and becomes ever-more confiscatory.

Yesterday morning as a safety measure, I cut down a large hollow basswood tree alongside a skid road – before it came crashing down on my skidder and me someday. When it hit the ground it split open, and there were two dead racoons inside. They either died of starvation or froze to death over the winter. And that’s what’s going to have to happen to western civilization before things change.

The only difference between voting for turdo or voting for Scheer is the length of time it will take to get to that point.

      2. Conservatives conserve nothing. Not the marriage, not the ladies room, and not the nation. They are feckless, hapless, virtue-signalers defined chiefly for their ability to lose to the Left. Nationalists are taking power in Austria, Holland, Hungary, Italy, and Switzerland, and it is only a matter of time before they do so in France and Germany as well.

Ignore the gatekeepers. Reject them with the contempt that is their due. They are doing the work of the globalist Left in trying to prevent the rise of true nationalism in the place of their fake “civic nationalist” statism.

      3. Just finished watching CTV Ottawa News.

Yup, it was there….cute story. Not a distraction though….I guess….people talking about it on twitter….only took about as much air time as the story earlier about turdo ducking questions about SNC.

Guess which turdo story sticks with people?
Yup, the story our bend over press obligingly ran last.

  2. What I still don’t understand is how Comrade Notley can snap her fingers and Trudeau’s RCMP can investigate the evil UCP, but the Conservatives and former AGs ask the Mounties to investigate Groper and nothing happens.

    1. – You honestly don’t understand that? It works like this in every crypto-fascist autarky in the world, including ours:

      1) the RCMP know who signs their paycheques, and

      2) like any bureaucracy, the RCMP is always looking-out to grab more power – and Troodie is happy to back them over their chosen way to do this, namely more gun grabs – and if the fed-lib’s get shown the door, their PM-approved onus (a.k.a. the handgun ban) is gone for another four years and they’ll likely face a public investigation and possibly their oversight for gun-reg’s returning to Parliament, where it belongs. High River left a nasty taste in many Canadians’ mouths – “C’mon, you know how much fun it is to kick-down doors?”

Troodie received a standing ovation when he walked-into one public-service office shortly after he was elected PM; well, all the public service including the RCMP, dread the end of Liberal “sunny ways” and a return to some fiscal responsibility at Treasury Board. Follow the money.

    2. In my opinion the entire Jason Kenney debacle is strictly an internal UCP matter. A family squabble, if you will, which will be patched up once they assume power. Do I agree with Kenney’s alleged misdeeds? No. Of course not. Does it affect me or other Canadians personally? No. Yet the media grasps the story in their teeth and, like a dog with a dead bird, refuses to let go all the while virtually ignoring Liberal corruption in Ottawa which affects all Canadians.

    3. “Conservatives and former AGs ask the Mounties to investigate Groper and nothing happens.” Funny isn’t it… The RCMP jumped at the opportunity to “investigate” Duffy, you know, for doing nothing wrong… they did so knowing full well that they were on a political hunting expedition without the slightest chance of proving criminal intent, but that did’nt stop the mounties from punishing Duffy anyhow… the investigation serving as the punishment. How about the time Old Cretch used the RCMP as his own personal goon squad by kicking down the door of Francious Beadoin the head of the Business Development Bank in a blatant act of intimidation used against the President because he had refused to give a loan to one of Old Cretch’s criminal buddies. When it comes to real and obvious crimes by the Librano Turdhole Gang, whether its adscam or Lavscam the RCMP have a serious need to NOT KNOW NOTHIN. Liberals corrupt everything they touch, including the Mounties. Justine the Turdhole is an untouchable and he and everyone around him knows it. The RCMP are not going to investigate their bosses in the Liberal gang… never.

  3. “there’s been an attempt to shut down the story”
yea.?? I have no doubt there is… the Hillary Effect.
Shut the F up… or suffer an “untimely accident”. Those shadowy Laurentien Elites exercising their REAL power.

We are talking about Multi Billions at stake here…and the Libs are up to their (_i_)’s deep in this corruption – as they always have been.

And we in the west are going to stay with this garbage why..??

  4. I am just happy whenever anyone who ever voted Liberal, or donated Liberal, or joined the Liberal party, suffers. I hope misery and shame are visited on her and her descendants for generations to come.

And I hope the misery spreads to every Liberal, their children, and their children’s children, in this post national region.

The CBC has never written any stories about the number of suicides the financial bomb cyclone of Trudeau one inflicted on the west. And they never will.

    1. Here is how we endeth the Liberals.
In the coming election the 60% + who wouldn’t vote for them ALL vote for them. When they basically get 100% of the vote those 60% all publically swear they didn’t vote Liberal.

  5. The thing about it is, if this Jane Philpott character were serious, she would have stayed in cabinet.

All you would have to do, if you were serious about taking down corrupt people in the government and civil service, is phone up Ezra, or James O’Keefe, and start taking a recording device with you to every cabinet meeting, every caucus meeting, every lobbyist meeting, …

If a person had actual principles, they would be willing to go to jail, get beaten, called names, be killed, to expose the truth.

Mitchel Paige didn’t win at Guadalcanal by “resigning from cabinet”.

The only way to have leaders who actually believe in anything or hold even a single principle dear, is a new country.

    https://prairiefreedom.ca/jointhefight.html#

There would be stuff on wikileaks already, if ANYONE in the civil service or Liberal party actually cared.

    1. Wearing a wire or leaking docs would take the whole party down, including her. She’s acting principled in order to take out Trudeau while leaving a door open to get back in once he’s gone.

  6. But she is also keenly aware, because she has been hearing from Liberal colleagues, that “there are people who are afraid that they’re not going to get elected because of what I did.”

That part I bolded, that’s main flaw of politicians, all politicians.

    1. “there are people who are afraid that they’re not going to get elected because of what I did.”

The LPC was the 3rd place party before last general election. Since the LPC got a majority, that means there is a large
cohort of first term MPs. They need to serve 2 terms to get that gold plated pension.

She is F’ing with their retirement plans.

  7. Trudeau and his Libranos think it’s over, want it to be over but with each passing day it’s only beginning to force the truth out. Cover-ups, lies, resignations, possibly more to come, Lavalin Honcho contradicting Trudeau’s line the company would move, jobs would be lost…choose the liar!
We cannot let this band of incompetents continue to run this country into a banana republic. We need to force Trudeau out, and do whatever it takes to stop this mess. Trudeau and whoever he takes orders from was playing politics sucking up to Quebec for votes in the upcoming election. God help us if people don’t wake up and understand the repercussions from this mess.
How can any decent Liberal MP sit and defend this regime, they should all be defeated.

    1. It will largely depend on how much the media will keep this corruption file going and keep it in the public eye. It takes a long time for most people to become engaged. Us news wonkies are well aware of the the Liberal crimes, but the general public have only an inkling.

  8. After reading that Jane Philpott interview I must admit that I am impressed by her integrity (few Liberals have that), and that a little respect for Paul Wells has returned. If only there was some way that the criminality of the Trudeau regime could be very publicly exposed.

    1. Like I said, IF ANY OF THEM HAD ANY INTEGRITY, THERE WOULD ALREADY BE A CRAP TON IN WIKILEAKS.

Canada is majority stupid. Always so many willing to go along with the pretty pony of the day.

        1. I am of an IDENTICAL opinion Kevin.

There is NO Changing the Dynamic of the Ottawa – Laurentien Elite – Power Corp Cabal. That kind of Corruption is Endemic throughout Quebec FRENCH Society – its in their Fkn GENES…! I have seen, and lived it firsthand.

If JWR-Phillipot had actually been “altruistic” & Fully Honest while discolosing EVERYTHING they knew…?? that would be one thing. But they are LIBERALS first – foremost, and as such will continue to KISS that gravy train (_i_), knowing full well that by not doing so, it would obliterate their working & personal lives. And that Dynamic will NEVER EVER Change.

Staying in this CON federation means the West Continues in its role as MONEY WHORE for said Cabal. Long Long overdue for us to form our own Sovereign Nation.

          1. Only the French politicians are corrupt please…

Only fools would make this stupid proclamation…

English politicians are just as corrupt as French Politicians.

You have to be able to lie in order to be in Politics.

An honest politician is an unelectable one.

That’s a fact of the corrupt and insane world we find ourselves living in today.

They who are in power want the English and French to fight

            Alberta separatists vs nationist

            West vs east

            Left vs right

They separate you all to keep you all for forming one large political force that can easily defeat the elite Globalist leftist party of Canada.

But heh don’t let me get into the way….

Please continue to fight amongst yourselves and continue the loss of our freedoms and being decimated by the approved religion of peace.

Remember only vote for one the approved Media Parties.

            Tails Liberal

            Heads Conservatives

Just remember they are the same coin just have different faces one blue the other red but in the end they carry out their Globalist agendas without our consent.

            F**k Me

    2. You don’t think there are emails from Lisa Laflamme to the Liberal party giving them debate questions before the debate?

It is just that no one in a position to do anything about it exists in Canada. At least the US and even the Dem party had people who were giving things to wikileaks. The US at least has people like Snowden, who, correct or wrong, is willing to go to jail and live in exile to get things out there.

What do we have? Some people who “resigned” from cabinet, and refuse to actually say anything they know. How very “integrity” of them.

    3. Paul Wells probably backed someone not named Trudeau in the leadership contest. He has a long memory. I recall Wells being angry when Martin forced out Chretien before Chretien was ready. Wells went nuclear on Martin until the next election, then returned to his old liberal supporter ways once Martin was retired.

  9. While it is a juicy story, she is a Liberal, and I have learned over many decades that you can never trust a Liberal.

    Note this quote too:

“Of course I want a Liberal government in federal politics. I do not want to see Prime Minister Andrew Scheer, for a whole bunch of really important reasons.”

Liberal arrogance is in their DNA.

    1. It is significant that she didn’t take the opportunity to list those really important reasons. I would like to know that those really important reasons are because I am just not seeing or understanding why the Liberals should be allowed to remain in power, let alone be a party. Every single time they get into power, we have this kind of immoral and criminal behavior and don’t tell me that it is for the GREATER GOOD. As to her integrity, if she really wants change, then she has to open the veil and let the world see. Right now, all she is doing is covering her behind like a good Liberal does.

    2. Not suprising that a Liberal MP supports the Liberal Party. What she, JWR and others want is a better Liberal Party. I can not imagine ever voting Liberal but I understand why she wants to improve her political party. Many western conservatives and conservative leaning libertarians have had those concerns about their political party and political leaders.

P.S. – Nice to see Scheer and the CPC kick up some dust this week. The media gave them a hard time but that’s to be expected of #TelfordTypists and #JustinsJounos…and all of the media will now be on the Liberal government payroll. They want the CPC to be passive and weak to help the scandal fade away.

      1. You think there is a better Liberal Party? Have you seen the arrogant, nasty comments *many* Liberal MPs have been saying, and posting on Twitter, about attempts by the Conservatives to get to the truth?

This includes the pompous Liberal ass in my riding.

No, no, believe me, this is the same Liberal Party Canada has known for a very long time. These women expected something different??

It is as good as it gets. We don’t need a better Liberal party because it doesn’t exist. What we need is a new government.

        1. I think that the Liberal Party has become corrupt and twisted. I think their best bet is to disband and form a new party like the federal PCs or AB and SK PC parties. The right has had to destroy and reform their political party due to corruption too. The Liberals are overdue, they’ve been corrupt for decades.

Understanding Philpott’s motivations is not the same as supporting the objectives of the Liberal Party.

  10. Regardless of what anyone thinks should happen (RCMP investigations, caucus resignations, etc etc) the big takeaway here is that the liberals are in a civil war, they are of divided loyalties.
They cannot claim the high ground over #believeher without condemning and being in opposition to the current leadership of the liberal party.
    Three results
They employ Clinton supporter levels of cognitive dissonance and show up on election day.
They take the red pill and join the party revolt (change their vote)
Or they decide to stay home on election day.
    So what does it mean?
It means taking that extrapolation and applying it to the liberal voter that only one in three is going to be voting liberal this election if this story keeps getting oxygen. That means the best they can hope for is a minority.
    Thats the best case scenario.
But for liberals a minority is not a win, and they only want a leader that can deliver a win.

  11. The Oakville ‘Tard MP, John Oliver, has announced he will not seek re-election, citing family reasons. (That’s code for “I don’t have a chance” – remember he’s a Lieberal which means he’s amoral). I wish I could give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he could not endure the corruption and criminality of Criminal Minister and his thugs.

  12. Oh yeah … I see how your PM … invests … in women. Prostitutes are a very healthy … investment … in male relief. Thanks gals! Thanks taxpayers! Just imagine all the damage that could have been done should certain Saudi men remain sexually frustrated under those robes?

However, I missed the part where your PM actually ANSWERED the question about muzzling certain women

    1. Kenji…PM dipshit has NEVER in all the time he’s been PM, answered ANY Question…..ever.

      Its 100% deflection
      100% blame Stephen Harper
      100% Blame Trump

The POS should have an ending like Nicolae Ceaucescu. I live in the West…and trust me when I say that sentiment is near universal.

  13. Some of these idiot Liberals and idiot journalists should connect the dots between Trudeau buying the media and this corruption cover-up.
How can we have a free press when Trudeau controls the media finances?
At what point do they gag on the stench of their own role in this corruption?

    1. Stench of their own role? CBC, Star, never, no matter how blatant the corruption.

Paul Well is an exception at the moment, but make no mistake, Paul will be shilling for the Liberals once the writ is dropped, as will most of the National Post main columnists. Warren Kinseilla will also go back to shilling for the Liberals as well.

  14. The next line in her interview is what always causes Liberals to defeat themselves:

“. And a very wise person said two things to me that helped me over that. This is someone who has been around politics for a long time. They said that politicians in general, and perhaps Liberals in particular, make mistakes when they assume that the best interests of Canadians and their own future political success are synonymous.”

The Liberals and Liberal media are pretending that the (attempted) obstruction of justice for the greater good of jobs, jobs, jobs is like Jean Val Jean stealing bread to feed his family. What a load of garbage. They attempted to obstruct justice to save Liberal MP jobs and to help out a Quebec’s old boys club of white collar criminals. Both JWR and the Public Prosecutor inferred that there were attemprts to pressure them to give SNC a deferred prosecution agreement, even though the Quebec company clearly did not qualify for the DPA. Philpott seems to also be alluding to serious problems regarding SNC and Trudeau, Morneau and the PMO.

Given SNCs long reputation of bribing government employees (in Canada and globally), the Liberal’s Adscam sponsorship scandal, Quebec’s long history of corruption in the construction industry (Charbonneau commission) and Trudeau’s and Mornau’s ethical breaches — there should be someone like Sheila Fraser looking into Lavscam, not a Liberal political partisan like Anne McLellan or a toothless Ethics Committee. A forensic financial investigation and an RCMP investigation will be the only way to restore confidence in the Canadian political and justice system.

This whole SNC scandal reeks. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s much more involved than electoral politics.

    1. The question never asked in all of this is:

What kind of leverage would there be that would force the Sockmonkey to risk deconstructing his feminist cred to go to this length to protect SNC over its access to federal contracts?
What leverage and who is using it?

      1. Yep. My inner cynic has a sneaking suspicion that moving heaven and earth to help SNC, despite the law and devastating political consequences to the Liberal brand, has more sinister motivations. Are they protecting themselves and/or other Liberal political and business VIPs both past and present? Dragging out Copps, who acted completely unhinged, and other old Liberal hacks seems weird to me.

Sounds like the Canadian public prosecutor has a canary that’s singing a tune that scares many Liberals. A DPA avoids a trial that might implicate a few big Canadian VIPs. Purely speculation, of course.

        1. I agree. There must be much more serious corruption involved for them to get so unhinged in their efforts to shut this down.

      2. joseph, I think SNC was to pick up several “pipe” contracts and that is why the “deferment” was imperative. Then the liberanos would have their election war chest start to fill

        as soon as Iacobucci falls………………………

  15. I know politicians are not good at straight answers, but he did not even pretend! Not once did Trudeau even get close to addressing the actual question asked, or to a response anyone over the age of 12 should be giving. It was like the playground, the bully being called out in front of a teacher by a smaller kid for hitting him “but you wouldn’t be the stooge in my games!”

  16. were raybould and philpot ordered by trudeau not to attend the current run of votes in hoc.
this question was asked by a ndp mp this morning.

    1. The libranos didn’t ask them to attend because every vote is a confidence vote.
The libranos lose one and the government falls.
They don’t trust JWR/ Philpott and the libranos are sending a signal – neither are part of the team.

  17. She said “But the Liberal Party needs to be the best version of the Liberal Party.”

Really? Doesn’t she realize what we are seeing *is* the Liberal Party and she chose to join it?

The Liberal Party doesn’t get any better than this. It was always a highly arrogant, entitled party whose basic premise was that you are only a true, patriotic Canadian if you vote Liberal. Anything else and you are dirt.

I hope they all the Liberals sink in the next election. Every one of them. I am sick and tired of the arrogance and the condescending views they hold of ordinary Canadians who dare disagree with them. I find them to be rather horrible people, including some particularly spectacular examples such as those on the justice committee and also Ms. McKenna, just to point out a few.

    1. Exactly. It was said quite clearly by the Liberals already during the Chretien years that if you did not vote Liberal that you were a bad Canadian.

  18. A lot of comments on other sites about integrity within the Liberal Party. If, Big IF, there were any Liberals with Integrity they would exit this corrupt party and sit as an independent thus causing an immediate election. There were fifteen to twenty Liberals elected with a very narrow margin in the last election. These members know that they sit in a very tenuous position, their re-election could be enhanced if they choose to depart the stench of corruption that is spreading across the Canadian electorate emanating from the Liberal party. They cannot put a foot in both camps, claim to have integrity and all the while sit in the back benches of the Liberal party condoning the corruptness that is a foundation stone of the Liberal party. This scandal will not go away if we keep hammering away at it with everybody we know and at the same time rake over all of the other corrupt scandals that have engulfed the Liberal Party in the past.

  19. On another side to this fiasco that most people miss in all of this, is the blatant insertion of a law into the omnibus bill that would have allowed a DPA for SNC-Lavalin after the fact. SNC-Lavalin lobbied the Liberal government to insert the DPA as part of the bill after the crime had been committed and the charges laid. This in and of itself is an obstruction of justice. Nobody is hammering this point home. Gerald Butt’s commenting (paraphrasing) that “He/We don’t like that law!” Is the Canadian Legal/Justice system so corrupt that laws can be changed or enacted by a single entity lobbying the government for special privileges. If that is the case then we have passed the point of no return!

  20. Normally, I can’t bring myself to endure the torture of listening to the Spawn’s memorized talking points masquerading as answers to all questions but since he was campaigning the Quebec vote, I fortunately heard the translator instead. I sense some desperation here given that the Spawn is annoying all potential viewers but Quebec and half of New Brunswick by answering only in French. He almost answered once in English but caught himself and kept to the script.

If, in order to be allowed to vote, citizens were forced to watch say, fifty hours of Question Period theatre, I can’t imagine many would still vote for the Spawn and those that voted for the opposition would likely have to hold their noses. For me, it would be a toss-up of whether I would rather endure, Question Period or a root canal without freezing.

  21. Philpott ia a deeply religious Christian. Her conscience got to her. She now is troubled by her decision as it has jeopardized the re-election of her cohorts.

She must not have understood the culture of the very party she is part of. Thought she was there to do good. Didn’t realize the party comes before any other interest including the country’s.

  22. Despite the temptation to go deep into the fight, I think Conservatives would be well advised to keep some distance from this rotting, stench of a party commonly known as the “Liberal Party”. Throw some water and sunlight on the pile here and there, to speed up the rot, but otherwise stand back.

Remember, Liberals will do *anything* to stay in power. Anything. They have no principles. Never have. Never will. Best to keep some distance, stick to a positive message, look forward, and leave this horrible, despicable, arrogant party in the rear view mirror.

My local MP on twitter, as just as one very small example:

    https://twitter.com/FuhrMP/status/1108735156884570112
    https://twitter.com/FuhrMP/status/1108689475402633216
    https://twitter.com/FuhrMP/status/1108564223582449665

And so on. The ass has been tweeting these all night.

Arrogance my fellow readers. Arrogance. This is Ms. Philpott’s Liberal Party. If she really wanted to act on principle she would walk away from it.

    1. Fighter pilot voting for corruption? Tch, tch! I wouldn’t buy him a drink in the mess.

  23. Another angle on this is that both Jody and Jane are conflicted over saving the party or saving their reputations.
They speak out to save themselves they damage the liberal brand.
They keep quiet to save the liberal brand they cut short their political careers by allowing the PM and minions to use the talking point that there is nothing to see here. And the minute they think this story has runits course these two will be ejected …. er … resign from caucus
The media want dearly to have this story go away but they can’t do that if either of these women decide to say anything lest they appear to be on Telford’s rolodex.
This story is out of control because liberals never think you can accomplish anything outside of the government.
Their whole world view is all good things come from government and they want the credit.

    1. Both JWR (a successful practicing lawyer) and Philpott (a doctor) have successful careers outside of politics, unlike career politicians. That gives them the freedom to do and say things than career politicians cannot. This makes it difficult for Trudeau and his PMO to control them because the usual threats are meaningless. Frankly, their brave actions display a sharp contrast to people like Goodale, Freeland, McKenna…and it’s not a good or flattering look for the latter group. Career politicians must have to trade in their spine and moral compass in exchange for the party leader signing their nomination papers.

      1. LCB
JWR is not a successful lawyer. Her law career consists of 3 years as a jr prosecutor. She quit and went into the aboriginal industry.

She was one of the most unqualified AG’s in the history of Canadian government. Her meddling in the justice system needs to be addressed and reversed.

She isn’t the hero we all thought she was at the outset of this saga.
Read Conrad Black or Brian Giesbrecht’s recent articles on her.

        1. Which is better than most lawyer-politicians. I’d bet she wouldn’t have a problem getting hired back into the legal profession. Her actions show that she isn’t (they aren’t) afraid of opposing Trudeau, unlike most of the other Liberal MPs. I was pointing out the contrast. I suggest their other careers is what makes them different than Trudeau’s mindless MP minions.

BTW, aboriginal law isn’t an illegitimate legal branch. I don’t agree with much of the philosophy behind it because it keeps aboriginals poor and isolated but they certainly have a legal rights that require dedicated aboriginal lawyers.

          1. I made the point when the story broke that I was suspicious of JWR motives.
She was leading a 5th column within the department of justice and was attempting to change Canadian law without consulting either cabinet or the people.

Increasingly it looks like she only stood up to the PM after she was confronted about her aboriginal activitism.

I’m on board with your point of aboriginal law being illegitimate.

          2. …actually i said it *isn’t* illegitimate. I do think it’s progressive goals have made things worse for aboriginal people, as progressive/identity politics so often does.

          3. It’s the hangers on that attach themselves to the aboriginal industry that bring nothing to the table.
Parasites that suck the lifeblood from the issues.

What is it that JWR husband adds to the equation?

  24. If SNC spent 160 million to bribe the Libyans, how much were they willing to spend to bribe Liberals?

  25. “Afraid that they’re not going to get elected?”

In a world where laws meant something most of them would have very good reason to fear being hauled off to prison or returned to their Third World cesspit of origin to face justice there, never to be seen in civilized society in Canada again.

They’re afraid they’ll lose their sinecures in Parliament? Tell them to call someone who cares. They’ll quickly find out that Soros and the Chinese do not subsidize failure for long.

    1. “They’re afraid they’ll lose their sinecures in Parliament?”

Sinecures? No, it’s their pensions they’re worried about. The have to serve 2 terms to get their pensions.
Most of them are first termers. NDP was official opposition last time. LPC was 3rd place when Harper had a majority.

  26. The problem is that filthy Lieberals are enabled by the opposition.
What would voters think if the opposition stated that they could no longer legitimize a corrupt government with their presence?
When asked about their HoC absence by the MSM merely state that they too are illegitimate as they are paid by the corrupt government.

  27. The crew of the SS Liberal Government will soon be rearranging yet more deck chairs to better accommodate that darned persistent listing to starboard.

Hmm… wonder if any member in our Dear Leader’s “diverse” cabinet knows the lyrics to “Nearer, my God, to Thee”?

    Somehow I doubt it.

    More popcorn, anyone?

  28. What’s with his voice? Are the hormone treatments kicking in? “I’ll show you who’s a feminist!”

  29. Hello Max….

New Populist Party Goes from Zero Seats to Largest Party in Dutch Election

A new populist, Eurosceptic party has achieved the remarkable feat of going from zero seats to becoming the largest single party in the Dutch Senate in a single election, as a young politician likened to a “Dutch Donald Trump” beat seasoned professionals in Wednesday’s poll.

Thierry Baudet’s Forum for Democracy party, which has gained attention for its Euroscepticism, campaigned against open borders politics and against what he calls “climate-change hysteria,” winning 86 seats across the Dutch regions. The victory put his party ahead of even the ruling mainstream conservative People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), which achieved 80 seats.

Forum was founded in 2016, and this is the first regional election the party has contested. Remarkably, in some Dutch regions Forum was so unexpectedly successful it won the right to appoint more elected members than to appoint more elected members than they actually have registered candidates living in those areas.

  30. Candice Bergen:”Mr. Speaker, the Prime Minister is really good at yelling and screaming at women !”

One of the best off the cuff political quips, ever. This clip is a perfect election ad.

It’s a political straight arrow that let the air out of a windbag.

It’s a winning meme. If the Conservatives have the hutzpah to use it.

  31. Censorship Tightens As Governments Lose Control

It’s especially easy to do this after having whipped everyone up into two camps of highly polarized and radicalized camps across multiple political vectors.

Trump vs. Liberals in the U.S.

Remainers vs. Leavers in the U.K.

Open borders vs. Immigration control across the West

Global warming alarmists vs. skeptics in Europe

    Gun Control vs. American Deplorables.

I could go on and on.

All of these false dualities, false divides are meant to drive us into two camps and act as a barrier to communication. As a sh&tlib are you more or less willing to suffer an argument for free speech if it comes from a Deplorable?

We all know the answer to that question.

And vice versa is also equally true. Deplorables don’t want to deal with Trump’s shortcomings as President because it’s a betrayal of MAGA.

Make no mistake, this polarization of electorates all around the world was planned. It’s part and parcel of the divide and conquer strategy which preps the rhetorical ground preceding color revolutions.

  32. Prinz Dummkopf has at least one thing in common with the chocolate bar. Both become soft and squishy when things get hot.

  33. Canada Sees Largest Influx Of Immigrants Since 1913

Canada’s statistics agency reported on Thursday that the country experienced the largest inflow of migrants in more than a century last year. Though the figures excluded illegal migrants (who have also reportedly been entering the country in record numbers), more than 320,000 people migrated to Canada last year, with more than 71,000 arriving in the final quarter – including legal refugees attracted by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s “open door” policy.

  34. I checked wikileaks. SNC Lavalin gets mentioned a lot, a few times in the Podesta emails and Clinton emails even.

    Canada’s #StepfordJournalists just don’t care. do they?

  35. To Jamie MacMaster and abtrapper:
Re: the exchange @ 3:21pm Jamie Macmaster reply to 3:01pm abtrapper…

Jamie, your thoughts as per the following quote:
“If you’re sick and tired of voting for the least smelly of a stinking lot, stay home.”

With all due respect gentlemen, if I may weigh in, our history teacher of Canadian History loved this country, loved its history and loved teaching it, once said something in class that I never forgot. It was to NEVER stay home on voting day and abstain from your right to vote.

The teacher stressed that if one didn’t like the parties or the people that one has to vote for, one ought to ‘spoil’ one’s ballot by marking an “X” in all the boxes, rather than writing a note or leaving it a blank or as an unmarked ballot.

The vote will then be counted as such rather than any other way.

Hope you don’t mind my message but I felt this might be helpful for everyone since we are in an election year.

I pray that the Communists who damage everything they touch, get the hell out!

    PS
On Sean Hannity tonight Marc Levin was extremely powerful about the crazy stupidity coming out of the far Left parties. I checked to repost it here and it is not yet available on the web but you can see the rebroadcast of Hannity at 1:00 am Eastern, at 1:30, Marc appears. I will repost if I can find it. That’s in 1hour and 45 minutes from now.
