  2. I’ve encountered that type of arrogance from academics while I was a grad student. They believed they were more equal than everybody else and that normal rules or, for that matter, laws didn’t apply to them.

  3. Looking at the photos of those two “gentlemen”, I don’t think they’re very bright. A sensible judge would dismiss their case and make them pay costs. Do we have any sensible judges these days?

Secretly taping a conversation is perhaps unethical but her recording those goons ganging up on her exposing their slander and academic authoritarianism hopefully does to their careers what they richly deserve. If that institution had any desire to salvage any kind of respectability, it would fire those two assholes. As an integral part of the institutional left it will instead stand behind them.

  7. University of Toronto professor Jordan Peterson is taking legal action against Wilfrid Laurier University after a T.A. was criticized for showing a YouTube clip of him.

    Petersen – a psychology professor whose contentious views have been protested across the country – and his lawyer, Howard Levitt of Levitt LLP, are suing the school and three faculty members for defamation worth $1.5 million.

    The claims, which haven’t been proven in court, say comments made in a closed meeting were defamatory and intended to discredit Peterson.

    L-Two professor’s, highly paid and tenured, who attempted a secret disciplinary action against Lindsay Shepherd, have decided to sue the young grad. student, who happens to be expecting her first child. Ms. Shepherd is suing them for $3.6million, her lawyer Howard Levitt is a heavy hitter in the field of Labour Law and civil actions. Prof. Peterson has retained the same lawyer and is suing both Wilfred Laurier Professors and the university.

    Reducing the upcoming battle to an archetype: Prof. Peterson, with the sharp sword of truth (Excaliber) in hand is St. George, the knight in shining armour. The patron Saint of England. Lawyer Howard Levitt will play the role of the St. George’s intrepid, white (Lipizzaner-war horse) stallion. Ms. Shepherd plays the role of the brave, spunky, damsel in distress. Who is under threat from the 3 headed, fire(methane) breathing dragon(played by the two W.L. Professors and Wilfred University, itself).

    Hoist a tall beverage and a large popcorn. Let the games begin. My prediction is dragon sushi !

    1. If Shepherd is already suing Rabukkana and Pimlott, then they’re counter-suing as a standard legal defense tactic. It gives them something to negotiate with when it goes to arbitration.

      I’ve always been a mite suspicious of the Shepherd-as-victim narrative, not least of which because this sort of thing happens all the time to students who aren’t cute young girls and so no one cares. Moreover, nobody has ever taken Laurier or its students seriously; that this happened at Laurier is a “dog bites man” story.

      Increasingly Shepherd is crafting a narrative instead of reporting the truth, and that’s eventually going to blow up in her face.

      1. If it happens all the time, shouldn’t someone object with all the tools at their disposal? Instead, you get all picky and hissy about the woman who dares to fight back, which is a pretty pathetic stance to take in the free speech/culture war we’re currently engaged in. Do her allegedly “cute” looks disturb you some how?
        And if it blows up in her face – you will inevitably claim it did, regardless of truth – you can smirk as these bully bozos get away with it.

        Have you listened to the recording? I have. What they did to Shepherd is unconscionable and deceitful. It turns out that they invented the complaint. The university report of what occurred confirms that. Both Shepherd and Peterson are on strong grounds with their lawsuits. Though this being Canada, of course, ground zero of the PC and SJW nonsense where as an immigrant I suspect the Health System deballs men at birth, who knows.

        For God’s sake man do some research before you comment.

My understanding is that the suit against her is alleging that the libelous statements made against Peterson in Shepherd’s administrative hearing – for which he is suing the two professors and Laurier – came to public attention only because Shepherd released the recording, and so the goal of said suit would be to pass on 100% of the obligation of any Peterson settlement onto Shepherd. It’s a clever tactic and actually makes a reprehensible sort of sense. I have no idea if there’s any chance of it coming to that, but Canadian jurisprudence has become really effed up in recent years so who knows?

    However to me the larger issue is that of star chamber situations like this where anything libelous can be said about anyone to manipulate and bully frightened students – or regular citizenry – with the adjudicators of these star chambers well aware that a secret recording could be used to either deflect any libelous charges or pass any financial obligations on to the secret recorder. That would ensure that these leftist a$$holes never have to worry, because who would ever risk making a recording?

The smirking turd on the right looks like one of those guys who would pay an electrician to change a light bulb because such a task would be beneath him and he would probably hurt himself in the process anyway. As for the other guy …. handing coffee out the window of a drive-thru would probably be within his capabilities so long as someone else prepared the coffee and handled the money.
