  1. Sleazebag useless corporate toady Congressional Republicans don’t want to build a border wall, either. And that includes both Ryan & McConnell. Or they could’ve funded the damn thing during the last TWO YEARS they held power.

No, they want the cheap immigrant labour for their Chamber of Commerce buddies & lobbyists, because that leads to juicy kickbacks — err, I mean “donations” — for them.

Trump should have fought this harder back in March, but I suppose he didn’t want to expose the R’s in Congress so badly in the leadup to the midterms. Fat lot of good that did them. I suspect that the R’s won’t go along with this and there will be a shutdown, until the D’s are back in power next month. Then the wall funding is dead because there’s no way the D’s will give in on it.

Anyway. Now the House R’s can go back to being in opposition, and proclaiming to the American people how if they just had power they would do X and Y and Z for them like repeal Obamacare (oops), build a wall (oops), … spineless crapweasels.

    1. Well said.
      Also CINO problem in Canada.

Hopefully Trump does not sign the bill without the money for the wall.

    2. “they want the cheap immigrant labour for their Chamber of Commerce buddies & lobbyists”

      As do all rational folk.

  2. The problem with the border wall is that it’s expensive and ineffective. We all know they’ll end up with a bill that includes border funding, but no wall, and both sides will call it a victory. Big surprise.

    1. Ineffective? In order for you to say that … you must be admitting that ALL of our EXISTING walls are ineffective. That is patently NOT TRUE. It doesn’t take a genius to recognize that absent ANY effective walls … then the ENTIRE border … every inch of it … would need to be electronically surveyed, monitored, and for response teams to be mobilized and distributed to secure. That is an absurdity, and would cost FAR MORE than an effective wall.

PARTS of our existing border walls work just fine. Sadly, those sections are limited and inadequate.

In terms of cost … A wall is (effectively) PAID-FOR … ONCE. All other forms of border security are PAID-FOR … constantly as a recurring cost. Only a hardcore Marxist/Socialist/Communist does not understand the difference between a FIXED-COST and a RECURRING-COST. The border wall is a ONE-TIME, FIXED-COST. And the maintenance cost is nil.

Building a WALL, a well-designed, secure wall … is HIGHLY effective… and a comparative BARGAIN.

      1. The Queen’s walls around Buckingham Palace are very effective; as are, I am sure, those of many billionaires’ mansions.

        1. The Queen’s walls are also guarded, and don’t have public airports inside them. What a monumentally foolish comparison you’ve made.

      2. Kenji, triple rolls of razor wire, double tracked with a deep ditch in between and armed soldiers with orders to fire on anyone who makes it to the pit past the first three rolls of wire. Damn effective I would say.

    2. The border wall costs a fraction of social costs of illegals. Health, education, welfare etc. for people that pay almost no taxes is a big reason for the massive deficit.

        1. Sure they are … just like Zoe Baird withheld, and paid SS Taxes for her illegal Nanny. Got any more fantasies tonight? Whoa!! Nevermind … THAT … would not be a pretty picture.

          https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nannygate

BTW … Bill Clinton nominated Baird for Attorney General of the USA!!! Imagine an AG candidate who scoffed at the LAW … and failed to withhold and pay SS taxes for her “help”. Leftists are sick, sick, puppies … and LIARS!!!

          1. In the future could you replace the above by “standard lie #3” to save space when you bullshit.

    3. You know what? You’re right.

It doesn’t go nearly far enough.

The next step will be to halt Chinese settlement in North America, and expropriate and expel North America’s Chinese settlers. The Pacific Ocean is more than wide enough to keep them out. All the US and Canada need do is to stop issuing them visas.

    4. Andrew, the problem with people like you is that you don’t understand the intent of the “wall”, and you don’t understand how it will help. The wall is not/will not stop all crossers. It is intended to slow them down, and make it harder to escape notice, thusly slowing down drug importing and other illegal enterprises. Cops don’t stop crime, they slow things down a lot tho. Try keeping up you lefty!!!

      1. Nothing is going to slow down drugs but legalization. Thinking the wall will stop drugs is a non-sequitor.

      2. Exactly. The East German wall slowed down but did not entirely stop people from the leaving the sort of paradise that progressives want to implement here.

  3. The wall will make a huge difference. If it wouldn’t be effective, then people like you wouldn’t be pissing and moaning about it. Democrats talk about the cost because they don’t want the river of undocumented democrat voters to end.

    1. Israel has a border wall. It works perfectly. The globalists whine about that too.

This is about a bit more than thrusting Democrats into office. Walls get in the way of the globalists’ plans to destroy all nations who pose a meaningful threat to their rule—namely, all Caucasoid nations whose peoples fear the God of Israel, keep His commandment, and understand money and sexual perversion, not “racism” or “capitalism,” to be the roots of all evil.

      1. Huh? The wall actually IMPROVES my freedom. It allows me to move around my country much more securely, knowing that lawbreaking rabble are kept OUT!

BTW … walls were built around every European city in the Middle Ages. To protect the cities from being sacked and burned. America is being sacked … and CA burned.

        1. “America is being sacked … and CA burned.”

No it isn’t, except by its government. There is no evidence that lawbreaking rabble from Mexico are significantly reducing anyone’s freedom, or ‘sacking’ America. Indeed immigration leads to less crime. Also, cheaper labour.

          1. In the future could you replace the above by “standard lie #4” to save space when you bullshit.

  4. Some parts of the wall will be a pita along the Rio grande where exclaves of the 2 countries exist from where the river has changed paths over the years. It still must be done.

Get it done Mr. Trump. Boo RINO’s.

  5. Do any of the supporters of this wall have even the remotest idea what this will cost, if it is designed to do what it is hoped it will do? Figure out the cost of a mile of maximum security prison wall and do the math. Then add in maintenance and staffing costs. For the most part, the wall’s purpose will be to keep out people who are simply looking for a job; hardly the existential threat that immigrants are made out to be.

    1. dennis, try looking up how effective Israel’s wall is, then get back to us. As another poster pointed out, the “extended” cost of illegal crossers far out weights the cost of the wall.

      1. Is Israel’s wall effective or are its counter-terror forces effective? I’m betting on the latter. In any event, Mexicans are not terrorists.

        1. Ugh you’re betting. Excellent, ask your mother what happened when she bet she would not get pregnant if is she drunk a lot.

  6. So, NEVER-TRUMPER, Gord Tulk was on here … gloating … that Trump CAVED to sign the last Omnibus Bill (continuing massive deficit spending with NO wall money). Trump made it VERY clear at the time that he would NOT sign any more CR’s or Spending Bills that did not include wall funding.

Huh? Imagine that … ? MY PRESIDENT is making good on yet ANOTHER one of his PROMISES to his VOTERS. The RINO GOPe’s … not so much.

    TRUMP 2020 !!! MAGA baby … MAGA !!!!

  7. The Altering of the Deal

Instead Of Border Wall, Trump Sends $10.6 Billion South Of The Border

    https://apnews.com/0fcda32812024680ad98676379c47233

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The United States pledged $5.8 billion in aid and investment Tuesday for strengthening government and economic development in Central America, and another $4.8 billion in development aid for southern Mexico.

The combination of public and private investment for the stay-at-home effort doesn’t require congressional approval, unlike Trump’s signature project to stem illegal immigration — a border wall.

    1. Such is the price of keeping central and south America in the US sphere of influence. Big men with guns willing to use live ammo on Chavistas and terrorists don’t pay for themselves.

Most of the money will be spent on US manufactured goods anyway, as is most US aid to Israel. (That aid is not a gift. It’s zero-percent financing for the weaponry Israel needs to defend herself.)

  8. Well Trumps “capitulation” certainly got the dems celebrating and Republicans paying attention.

Now it’s time to play ball.

    Nicely done Mr trump

  9. Trump just needs to PUNT Mitch into some landfill… The F’n Senate sold out to Democrats for coin….Harry was still the leader even though Mitch had the Title…..Same with Schumer,,,,,Sharing in the skim

If the Senate refuses to dump Mitch… Trump runs as an Independent in 2020 and let the Rino’s fend for themselves

A dysfunctional Republican Congress has consequences!

  10. There is a much better alternative to the wall. It is called “bombs for wetbacks” every time a wetback crosses into US, a random government building in the sewer called Mexico will be selected for vaporization. After a week of policy in effect the “Mexican army” would seal the border tight and shoot anyone approaching it. Then they would build a wall, place minefields etc.

  11. During Donald Trump’s campaign to be elected President he not only promised a wall, he promised Mexico would pay for it.
Now he seems to want American taxpayers to pay for this wall. What happened to making Mexico pay for it? Anyone?

    1. Just cut foreign aid to Mexico by the cost of the wall (well actually cut it 100% anyway).

    2. Trump’s renegotiation of the crap sandwich known as NAFTA will more than adequately offset the cost of the wall. I’m satisfied he’s already made good on that promise. Done.

As expressed by Rep. Mark Meadows this evening … “America spends more taxpayer money on Sugar subsidies than on Border security”. Yes, given the social cost to America … that is just sick. A sad misappropriation of priorities.

      1. ” I’m satisfied he’s already made good on that promise. Done.”

That is absurd. Not at all the fulfillment of the promise to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it.

      2. “Trump’s renegotiation of the crap sandwich known as NAFTA will more than adequately offset the cost of the wall.”

That’s not how money works you retard.

  12. Hillary was right, some so called conservatives are deplorables, Mexicans are not the problem!.. The drug cabals in the USA want free flow of the drug mules & sex slaves…..Pick your poison….A wall will limit the corrupt bastards…….

OZ & Colonialista are stuck on stupid…. Childish fools who don’t understand economics beyond school yards bravo BS.. They are the chaff from Sesame Street….

    JMHO

  13. Heh

Many years ago, some 50-52 in fact, your agent was a soldier on the border of West Germany (at the time) and a country run by communists. I was on the communist side of the border.
I was not a border patrol, was a specialist.
    The border looked like this.
There was a signal fence, it had looped wires and if anybody climbed it or cut the wires there was a signal from that section to the unit that watched over it.
Then there was a plowed about 10 to 15 feet of land to catch the footprints, then there was what you know as “iron curtain”, this was made of wires all along the Austrian and German border, hundreds of miles, powered by 600 volts, to electrify and probably kill, if it rained, those that touched it. The wires were attached to X’es perpendicular to the wire.
There was a distance between the signal fence and the electric fence in places short, in other places long, depending on the terrain. Flat land was easier to run, rocks and trees harder.

That was your wall, the propaganda we got was that it was there to keep the rotting western capitalists out. For some strange reason everybody and everybody else, even the propagandists knew that it was there to keep the locals in.

There isn’t an inch of wire there today.

Isn’t it wonderful how things change?

Actually I don’t care what the Americans do, It’s their country, it’s their call.

    1. At the border crossings there were soldiers and customs officers. It was rather difficult for those rotting western capitalists, (this included workers, janitors, and teachers, everybody without exception) to cross over to the workers’ paradise, though they put up with the bullshit if they had relatives in paradise.
It was wholly impossible to cross from the workers’ paradise to the rotting west.

The first time crossing to the US from BC, @ 1970, all we needed was a driver’s licence, if you forgot one, well they told you bring it with you when you come next time.
Today, you are treated, on both sides as some kind of rotten scum.

There was a song if I remember right, Times they are a changing, it went.

  14. It’s never getting built. Never, ever. It wasn’t going to get built before the GOP lost the house, certainly not after.

    Never, ever.

    1. The Republican House just voted to fund the wall … after MY President said he would NOT sign the CR without wall funding. He will “shut down” the government, to leverage the Senate. You’re going to be WRONG … again. Not surprising.

  15. The Senate has the votes, so nuke it in.

Anybody who thinks the DeMarxists won’t nuke their policies over this and will actually “build the wall” are delusional.

Nail them all, now, or they will do it to you.

I also understand the Dems have settled on “being orange” as grounds for Trump’s meaningless House impeachment.

  16. Trump took their lunch money away and a more serious haircut is in the details. The never Trump ultra smart losers have nothing in their Christmas stocking, but lumps of Coal…..
Trump is brilliant!!!!!!! He will get his wall, or the jumpers will join McCain in a final display of silly defiance….
