Arizona Supremes reviewing order Christians must promote homosexuality

The Battle River School District here in Alberta tried the same stunt, threatening to penalize any Christian schools that referred to passages in Scripture that condemned it. Sheila Gunn Reid has several reports about it on the Rebel’s YouTube channel.
I’ve seen those.
Has an APB been released to go after the free speech of Mark Steyn again? https://twitter.com/KahlonRav/status/1065764618587394048
speech hasn’t died, the truth has.
It occurred to me that it’s now 35 years since the band Yes released its album 90125. I’m listening to my CD copy of it right now.
While Yes was a group that I never quite got the hang of (I thought their Tales of Topographic Oceans was rubbish), I must say that their songs are a refreshing change from the din that passes for popular music nowadays.
I always found Yes to be a bit pretentious; they were good musicians though.
I never found them pretentious. Just damn good composers and musicians. “Pretentious” is just word applied by people who don’t understand certain aspects of music. Prog requires a lot more attention than your usual Pop and Rock music.
I like Yes. I saw their 9012 Live tour. They’re no King Crimson, Gentle Giant or PFM but they’re good Prog.
Their best album IMO is Relayer.
Thanks for that heads up on the 90125 anniversary, BA. I am a yuge Yes fan, loved their great talent since I was exposed to ‘Fragile’ at age 12. I doubt industry ‘experts’ would agree with me, but I considered 90125 the best ‘come-back’ album ever.
And Rick Wakeman is a keyboard god.

BA, if you enjoyed Yes’s ‘sound’ but had little patience for their ‘musical venturing’, might I suggest Asia.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORphKZpHe1s
When I was an undergrad, many of my fellow dorm mates brought their stereo sets with them and, consequently, I heard many of the recordings they listened to. Among that was music by Yes.
Those recordings were seldom played on the radio stations I listened to back then because the broadcasting format was more concerned with promoting record sales and advertising. In addition, disco had dominated the airwaves, so I didn’t hear much Yes. Instead, my tastes more towards bands such as Fleetwood Mac and Boston.
By the time Asia started, disco had vanished and I thought their sound was rather intriguing (the song Heat of the Moment got a lot of airplay), but it had to compete with New Wave, so I didn’t hear much of its music on the radio. When 90125 was released, my reaction was “Wow!” because it was quite different from most of what was on station playlists.
By the way, the lack of commercial exposure for bands such as Yes and Asia wasn’t just here in Canada. I was an active shortwave listener in the early to late 1980s, and I often heard some of the pop music shows that were broadcast on foreign stations. Many of their top-10 or top-20 charts were equally as bland as the ones in this country.
Asia now there was a major disappointment.
For all you Yes trivia buffs, the title 90125 was used because that was the number that the recording had in the record company’s catalog, or so I heard.
A fine comeback lp … but the original YES were true prog-rock trailblazers. Much of their music that I didn’t find particularly “accessible” in the 1970’s … I now LOVE. YES, it was simply ahead of it’s time. Like so many rock bands … you know … actual musicians who actually played with on-another … there was a special chemistry between the founding members, Jon Andersen, Chris Squire, the incomparable Rick Wakeman and Steve Howe.
My personal Favorite – https://www.discogs.com/Yes-The-Yes-Album/release/4166501
And the rare MOFI version is superb. Although other reissues, remasters/reengineered versions are well done too.
You forgot Bill Bruford. Saw Him play with his Earth Works band.
I have a few MOFI pressings. Not cheap.

I think we here knew this already. Is George going to be able to continue to run roughshod over the nations.
Is George going to be able to continue to run roughshod over the nations.
One has to ask how he managed to turn so many national leaders against their own people. Were they always traitors to their own countries, were they compromised in some way, or did he simply buy them?
In some cases, we already know the answers. O’Bummer and the Hildabeast eventually revealed themselves as Alinskyites. Prinz Dummkopf hates any part of Canada that isn’t Quebec, particularly that region west of Ontario and he inherited that from his father.
It seems like Mexicans are getting a bit pissed-off now.

Do you honestly think that the rest of Canada actually feels sorry for Alberta? Saskatchewan and NE B. C., maybe, but the remainder? I doubt it.
I suspect that the general feeling is that Alberta is finally getting what it deserved and has been knocked off its high horse, hopefully never to get up again. How dare Alberta actually keep its prosperity all to itself?
I’m serious. When I was a grad student at UBC nearly 40 years ago, I was often met with contempt and disdain when I mentioned that I was from Alberta. A few years later, I got similar reactions at the company I worked for in Saskatoon.
I think for the majority of people in Toronto, and to some extent Montreal and Vancouver, it’s a question of “what’s Alberta?” These are the people that elect the governments and they neither know nor care nothing for the country. Windmills? What are they? Oh yes, they save the world. How could redknecks be against them. They do not see dead birds. They live in appartment blocks and do not receive electricity bills. They complain and demand rent controls when the rent goes up. Same with oil pipelines, they don’t connect them with the gasoline they buy or the trains they take or the clothes they wear. They are the urban prols that want bread and circus and bargains.
“Do you honestly think that the rest of Canada actually feels sorry for Alberta?”
I can only tell you that where I am, out here in the Ottawa Valley,* the local feeling is that Alberta has been well and truly stiffed by the Feds.
I am personally utterly appalled at the wholesale posturing and blundering by our current children’s crusade of a government in Ottawa and its cack-handed “management” of the energy file. God help us all if we vote this gang of nincompoops back in.
* You will appreciate that rural Valley folk have rather different views from the phony cosmopolitans who inhabit the Glebe in Ottawa.
It’s the same if you head west a couple hours. Once you leave the Lesser Trent University area, it’s “Alberta is getting ska-rewed.”
Canada suffers from regional envy. Every region hates Alberta. I’ve seen it coast to coast. Bongo is playing on that resentment.
Canada as a country makes no sense. Your not entitled to your own production. Your wealth is confiscated and given to those who are more deserving- quebek and fish world.
Alberta frustration under the ndp is palpable. They are focusing the minds of Albertans. Having bongo in autawa just adds to the resentment. At some point it will reach critical mass….maybe
Fishworld? Don’t forget, a generation ago Newfoundland was getting screwed by the feds. “Cod fishery? So sorry, we won’t allow that anymore.” So a lot of them went to Alberta and started working on the oil sands. And now they’re getting screwed again.
All 40 seats in fishworld went librano. in 2015. They suffer from Stockholm syndrome.
I expect all 40 seats to go librano in the’19 election. They have no economy and sell out to the highest bidder – every time.
HAVE YOU READ THIS?

Rex Murphy has an excellent article on the carbon taxes, at least he doesn’t hate Alberta.
Most of the rest of Canada and especially the federal government does not give a sh*t. In fact most applaud the taking down of those uppity oil workers.

Canada needing a lot of citizen heroes to lead us out of the swamp, with only 11 months to the Oct. 2019 election.
Now the Trudeau Liberals just bought off all of the MSM, that they didn’t already own?
Do free elections depend on a free press?
But, there is always social media(FB/Twit./Gulag) free speech though, and free public speech at public forums w/o intimidation/censorship, too ? Okay, not so much.
If you look into the abyss. You find the abyss is also looking into you.
She’s not eloquent but at least she’s bout there; good for her.
Yes, Kate. She can claim that Free Speech technically died today, but it has already been on life-support in a near-death coma for decades in this country.
On a side-note, I have been cruising along with no CAPTCHA issues for weeks now. The rare time I am asked to verify, it is easily accomplished. I’m even getting pretty good at store fronts and sidewalks, too.
And no, I don’t believe in jinxing myself.
Alberta should declare itself a Trudeau free zone if he didn’t get the message from his visit there. He’s really not the boss, he’s the actor who is taking direction in a play that could divide this country to the point of ruin. We are headed for economic disaster and social disgrace and it’s coming from the agenda driven unelected behind the curtain.
Now that they have bought the media journalists need to prove they can’t be bought or we can shut them out, many already have.
The thing is that thousands protested PM Puke … in the middle of a work day. If it had been a Saturday their might have been 20,000 and PM POS would have soiled himself, the cops would have soiled themselves and Gerald Buttsfuck would have fled like the coward traitor he is.
Nah. Prinz Dummkopf and Duke Buttshead would simply consider those protesters as disloyal rebels fighting His Majesty’s benevolent rule.
FREE SASKABERTA!!!! Everybody in Canada hates you people (Albertans). You and your dirty oil. That same dirty oil that makes all those transfer payments to the rest of Canada. I know I would trade all of the expense of Canada for 1 vote for a U.S. Senator, in a heartbeat. Along with that, we would probably see our taxes cut by half. Then all those Liberal voters (NPCs) can freeze in the dark, up on their High Horse.
The Liberal Party at work. The Globe and Mail among the usual stories on how wonderful Justin is, has a story that states that Groper spent half a million dollars for a name and logo for one of its poverty agencies.
Even Andrew Coyne thinks its bullsh*t and I have never read anything of his that wasn’t equivocating to some degree.
https://nationalpost.com/opinion/andrew-coyne-liberals-600m-aid-package-for-news-media-will-irrevocably-politicize-the-press
But when he writes “to hell with it” it gives you a sense that even he is insulted by the bribe or is it a kickback…or a royalty?
I’ve stopped reading Coyne lately.
He has become a bit too “slimy” these days for my tastes.
I have stopped reading him since the last election. I think he attempts to be clever, rather than honest. His “ideology” is essentially promoting Coyne. In truth, you can argue on any side of any issue (it’s called spin). Coyne strive to figure out what the contrarian side of an issue is and argues that, regardless of how it reflects or fails to reflect the important considerations. I can’t stand his smarmy “know-it-all” writing. By contracts, Conrad Black provides a lot of useful factual information and background, whether or not you agree with his conclusions.
It kind of blows their cover, they know they will have to deal in facts, not manipulate them to suit a particular bias or agenda. The Opposition needs to keep talking about this covert affront to our democracy.
Justin’s butt boy, Andrew Coyne pretending to be upset.
Social media sucks.

Reminds me of the bad review one of my contractors made about a motel we were staying in. The manager was pretty upset that my contractor never approached the staff to rectify the problems. Millennials…why fix a problem when you can social media about it.
Scheer is blowing/has blown it.
“The Conservatives were sitting pretty in the polls in the spring and through the summer — statistically tied with the Liberals or even ahead. As fall has turned to winter, support has ticked lower, in some surveys falling below the psychological bar of 30 per cent. The concern is that this is not because a significant number of voters are defecting to Maxime Bernier’s new party. Rather, the worry is that the support is shifting to the Liberals, who are now more than 10 points up in some polls.”
Perhaps the most damning part: “He said that the Opposition Leader’s Office is “somewhat chaotic and not well organized.””
It might be okay to be boring. Actually Canadians probably like that not being at all similar to the ‘fighter’ down south. But you really can’t be incompetent and boring.
https://nationalpost.com/opinion/john-ivison-andrew-scheers-problematic-leadership-sparks-concern-among-conservatives
A lot of residents of Alberta hate Alberta. A lot of PC’s in the PC government came from other places got elected and raped and pillaged the province before we gave the keys to the NDP horde. The PC’s happily gave us the Human Rights Commission.
If you’re looking for free speech and Albertan first you shouldn’t cast a vote for Kenney’s UPC. He loves his mosques and Islam way too much and don’t you dare utter a word to the UPC otherwise. The free speech spirit of the Wildrose died at the hands of Feminist Smith and Globalist Jean. Rempel put a lot of her weight behind that.
Our UPC salvation won’t be found in the renewed Alberta rape and pillage of the good old UPC boys and it won’t be found in tender loving arms of Andy 2% Spineless Scheer.
Pithy: who then?
Its difficult to oust an incumbant government, especially a first term one.
History shows us that librano governments stay until Canadians tire of them.
Bongo holds the key to the treasury. The bribes have started. Fish world lives on other peoples money as does the quebek traitor.
Unless bongo gets caught doing something so egregious that even Canadians cant stomach he’ll probably win another term.
Canadians are already tired of the current train wreck that passes for government.
We thought the same thing under PET when his first term came to an end. This country hated him so much that he was returned to office with a minority government.
Prinz Dummkopf will be with us for at least one more term.
They were a few month ago. Now they are ahead in the polls, but I am still stunned by how much worse Trudeau is doing than I thought he would. I thought he’d just be unassailable.
“Unless bongo gets caught doing something so egregious that even Canadians cant stomach he’ll probably win another term.”
On the off chance that the fool gets caught, who is going to report it to the average Canadian? The CBC? Any misdeed by Trudeau will be covered up so fast by the media it will make your head spin. Just ask anyone about Trudeau’s groping misadventure. How many Canadians actually have any knowledge of it? Compare this to the non-stop coverage of Brett Kavanaugh’s alleged assault.
https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/house-passes-back-to-work-legislation-to-end-canada-post-strike-1.4189521
The Liberal government has ordered the Postal workers to end the strike, but in a fine example of how the newly bought MSM is going to twist every story slightly, this one at CTV claims the “House” ordered them back to work.
NOT the Liberal Government, the HOUSE! Got that you peasants,it wasn’t our beloved Liberal government,it was THE HOUSE.
Soon to be followed by,”Parliament recommends banning all handguns”. Parliament, NOT the Liberal Government, you dumb peasants.
He’ll be with us one more term only if the electorate is as dumb as he is, if so, god help us.
Interesting. I guess the NDP had no choice but to walk out in solidarity with their leige-lords but oh man the fact that they have to just goes to show how unviable they are. Old Big Labour is a dying sinking ship and the NDP are riding it to the bottom. That’s part of why they are going Full Green-they have no choice. I don’t think it will save them; the NDP is probably dying.
wrong agin unmebot.
the ‘new’ (wtf is ‘new’ about THAT bunch?) democraps will forever and always have a hard core support base of 15% +/- of voters. # of seats depends on the concentration of support.
sometimes they act like chameleons to get a bit of powah, but the rule of thumb. once they get into gubbamint, their abject incompetence rears its head and thus ruins ANY chance of future in office (visa vi bob rae).
“the ‘new’ (wtf is ‘new’ about THAT bunch?) democraps will forever and always have a hard core support base of 15% +/- of voters. # of seats depends on the concentration of support.”
They’ve been run out of their old base in the prairies, couldn’t hold Quebec, and now where are they gonna go? Who are they appealing to?
Seb, Deplorable and Robert. There is an easy solution to Alberta’s financial problems. According to Ted Morton, Alberta is transfering to the Federal government about 20 billion this year. Not only do Albertan taxpayers send funds but the Canada Health Transfer and Canada Social Transfer — have a transfer effect. The same is true for federal benefit programs such as employment insurance, Old Age Security and the Canada Pension Plan.
Alberta’s Debt Clock shows we have about 49 Billion in Debt and this year ran an 8 billion defecit.
From 2007 to 2015 Alberta’s contribution to the Federal Government was about 24 billion per year.
For financial reasons Alberta should separate from Canada.
“From 2007 to 2015 Alberta’s contribution to the Federal Government was about 24 billion per year.”
Your argument seems to boil down to this: because we are a prosperous province, taxpayers resident in Alberta pay lots of Federal taxes and that’s not fair.
I don’t think it’s an argument, just a statement of reality that Ottawa must think about.
It is always easier to leave an abusive relationship if you are not financially dependant on the abuser.
Why is national unity always an issue when Liberals are in power, but not conservatives?
Albertan separatists always throw this nonsense up as if the province were transferring set sums of money to Ottawa to pass on to Québec. They deliberately muddle Federal inputs with outputs.
The inputs are all the Federal taxes that Canadians across the country contribute to the national treasury. The outputs are the transfer payments the national treasury provides to provincial governments. If there were no outputs, Canadians – not provinces – across the country would still be contributing to the national treasury proportionate to their means.
By all means, grumble about something like equalization – I think we should be questioning how our Federal tax dollars are used this way. But criticize it sensibly, as an output, not through the spurious notion that the provinces somehow “transfer” a big cheque to Ottawa.
It’s called taxation. And Federal taxes are levied against individual Canadian taxpayers and corporations, not provinces.
JJM: Ok lets hear about your formula or explanation of equalization.
Is there another country in the free world – hell in the entire world that has a program like this? Wealth is confiscated and given to people who chose to live in a part of the country where they couldn’t possibly survive with taking government hand outs. In gratitude for their dependence they consistently vote against wealth being created.
The equalization formula is fluid. This ensures the ‘have nots’ (quebek and fishworld) never become ‘have’ provinces. If things are starting to look good economically in quebek or fishworld the goal posts are moved and the cash keeps flowing.
In the real world people move to resources. That’s where wealth is being created and they can take advantage of it. If the libranos could figure out a way to move the oilsands to quebekie they’d do it in a heartbeat and exploit it for their own gain. I’m ok with people living wherever they please but don’t expect productive people to pay for your choices.
The equalization formula is morally wrong. I am not my brothers keeper. I can chose to be but confiscating my production (taxes) and giving it to some cause or person I may never support is just plain wrong. It’s bullshit like this that undermines the validity of a country.
There you have it. My explanation. Now I’m ready to hear yours.
“JJM: Ok lets hear about your formula or explanation of equalization.”
That’s easy: take funds from the Federal treasury and transfer them to selected provincial treasuries. It’s just that simple.
“Is there another country in the free world – hell in the entire world that has a program like this?”
Get real. Most countries do this, and they’ve been doing it since time immemorial: using the national treasury to address regional disparities. In any country, there are going to be more and less prosperous regions. Indeed, this general philosophy extends down to the sub-national level: you can’t tell me that the Government of Alberta doesn’t use provincial revenues to prop up have-not parts of the province.
“I am not my brothers keeper.”
Oh, but you are; that’s the very moral underpinning of our Judeo-Christian heritage, so get used to it. And the tax revenues collected from you and me are likely to always be used for some expenditures we might not agree with. That’s the real world too.
Separatists – whether the Western or the Québec variety – always sound like spoiled children who want to take their toys and go home.
Everything is getting better-where government allows it to.

Pretty sure. I am just amused by this. The ones that started the fight were the neon haired left wing cam whores offering nude snapchats for a price. You know the type, they want socialism so long as they don’t have to pay taxes, and anyone that disagrees is an incel nazi. Now they can find out that the government is not their friend.
I don’t have a bone in that specific fight. Indeed, I am still not sure who is who.
