Break Them Up

Into a hundred thousand million pieces.

What ordinary Americans long suspected, The Good Censor has proven beyond doubt. According to Google’s own analysis, tech companies have performed perhaps the greatest bait-and-switch in American history, promising their users free speech while they were taking over the market, only to go back on their word once they came to “control the majority of online conversations.”

  1. Nearly two-hundred years ago leaders perceived the danger, today, not so much.

“This sacred Privilege is so essential to free Governments, that the Security of Property, and the Freedom of Speech always go together; and in those wretched Countries where a Man cannot call his Tongue his own, he can scarce call any Thing else his own. Whoever would overthrow the Liberty of a Nation, must begin by subduing the Freeness of Speech; a Thing terrible to Publick Traytors”
Benjamin Franklin, Silence Dogood No. 8 1:27a, July 9, 1722

“Without Freedom of Thought, there can be no such Thing as Wisdom; and no such Thing as publick Liberty, without Freedom of Speech; which is the Right of every Man, as far as by it, he does not hurt or controul the Right of another: And this is the only Check it ought to suffer, and the only Bounds it ought to know.”
Benjamin Franklin, “Silence Dogood,” no. 8, July 9, 1722

  2. Social media is like cigarette smoking … fun at first, but then it harms you over time but you just can’t quit.
Here’s what …. Dump social media entirely and GO LIVE!
You may be surprised at how much happier and relaxed you will become. Really!

  3. Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube do not “control the majority of online conversations” any more than Walmart (or Amazon) controls the majority of retail. And unlike Walmart, there’s still no evidence any of these companies are acting in a monopolistic fashion contrary to the relevant antitrust laws.

As I’ve mentioned before, you really, really don’t want these companies to lose their neutral platform protections, or else you’re going to see Kate-and-Kathy-have-to-apologize-to-Richard-Warman posts every five minutes on every blog, everywhere.

    1. Daniel, you are definitely looking at a different web than Ihave for the last few years. I have been down because I stated the Canadians are sheep. facebook said this was hate speech and shut me down for three days. Where was your outrage at this and others who advocate death and rape are allowed to continue?

    2. Sure we want them to lose their protection, they are nothing but unpaid advocates for the left, silencers of opposing voices, and promulgators of leftist fake news. They don’t have customers, they have saps who provide them with data free of charge which they use to make their money.

They are all businesses and they can be broken up with impunity.

    3. Here we are, only a day into legalized weed in Canada and we get tripe like that. Neutral platforms? Really?

  4. Ben was right. The 20th century saw more than its share of the effort to silence people, and now we are witnessing a more subtle version.

I agree with break them up. They have become part of the inheritors of the Frankfurt School plans to control and move society toward a particular ideology, and as we have seen much lately are strong enough to enforce their efforts.

  5. I too agree with Anti Trust being served on them all.

When one is banned for uttering an OPINION bereft of foul language…then that is 100% Censorship – Thought Police etc, call it what you will. MY “CRIME” was to question someone who was obviously praying at the Altar of TRANS-Sexuality and I asked why the “obsession” with those who are trans…?

Permanent Ban from Twitter…..yet it was a 2.5 month old Tweet – So to me, Someone had to actively go looking for a reason and that is what they came up with to ban me.

Personally, I suspect the filthy paws of Obergruppen Fuhrer Gerald Butts. I was on him, and his pedophile loving friend from day 1 among a few select others in that Treasonous Cabal, aka the Liberal Party of Canada

  6. For the hundredth time …
I have been permanently BANNED from making comments on the Daily Mail (a “conservative” news outlet … ha!) because I had the temerity to question the “newsworthiness” of a PDA lesbian kiss. Yes, we are being CENSORED everywhere … not JUST the mega-platforms. So, nobody reading the DM comments will ever read a dissenting opinion of the Gay cabal. The reader will be left with the artificial-construct that ALL public opinion supports ALL LGBTQewwww “rights”. Just WAIT till they’re hit with the pent up backlash against their totalitarian elimination of ALL peoples rights.

  7. Remember how hard Google was fighting for “Net Neutrality” when Ajit Pai reversed the FCC ruling? Makes you wonder WHY they were so keen on it…

uncle Miltie speaks from beyond: aka “the market the market the market”
FREE of gubbamint heavy handedness, meddling and the dreaded regulation.
regulation required before da gubbamint can break them up into said 100 billion pieces.

make yer choice, pick a side: gubbamint regulation everywhere or free market everywhere.

I put it this way, the above mentioned censorious outfits exist ONLY via the crucible of free choice to invest and work in and for and with a free enterprise seizing an opportunity created by the advance of technology which likewise only happens at the present rate in a FREE MARKET.

the demand to ‘break them up’ can be viewed as glaring hypocrisy.
