    1. Thanks for the link. Very interesting article. The 2 most important paragraphs (highlight much of the global warming problem):

“The greatest area of consensus between the volcanists and the impacters [on the theory of how the dinosaurs went extinct] seems to be on what insults to sling. Both sides accuse the other of ignoring data. Keller says that her pro-impact colleagues “will not listen or discuss evidence that is contrary to what they believe”; Alan Hildebrand, a prominent impacter, says Keller “doesn’t look at all the evidence.” Each side dismisses the other as unscientific: “It’s not science. It sometimes seems to border on religious fervor, basically,” says Keller, whose work Smit calls “barely scientific.” Both sides contend that the other is so stubborn, the debate will be resolved only when the opposition croaks. “You don’t convince the old people about a new idea. You wait for them to die,” jokes Courtillot, the volcanism advocate, paraphrasing Max Planck. Smit agrees: “You just have to let them get extinct.”

All the squabbling raises a question: How will the public know when scientists have determined which scenario is right? It is tempting, but unreliable, to trust what appears to be the majority opinion. Forty-one co-authors signed on to a 2010 Science paper asserting that Chicxulub was, after all the evidence had been evaluated, conclusively to blame for the dinosaurs’ death. Case closed, again. Although some might consider this proof of consensus, dozens of geologists, paleontologists, and biologists wrote in to the journal contesting the paper’s methods and conclusions. Science is not done by vote.”

    2. This..

“..This dispute illuminates the messy way that science progresses, and how this idealized process, ostensibly guided by objective reason and the search for truth, is shaped by ego, power, and politics….”

Yea, sorta like AGW/Climate Change perhaps..?

Very interesting Article (long) – And as will all things scientific, this needs to be considered.

  1. Kate originally supplied a link to this ‘live earthquake site’ a week or so back, I have spent more than a few hours on it since. Both his commentary and subject knowledge are excellent.

With the deep 8.2 quake a few hours ago in the Pacific, he is forecasting doom and gloom around the entire Pacific as the stress from this massive quake is discharged down the line. Geez, an already reeling Indonesia just got hit with a 6.3 as I type this.

    https://www.twitch.tv/dutchsinseofficial

If you live anywhere near the Pacific, keep your eyes open the next 7-10 days. Be prepared.

  2. Today, Trudeau is at yet another gay pride parade, this one in Montreal. I believe his intention is to set a Guiness record for attending more gay pride events than any other human. More electioneering on the taxpayer dime.

      1. Funny thing is, Justine is his real name, but the Media will not allow Justine to be called Justine. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a Media turd explain why they’ve declared calling Justine by his given name of Justine is off limits, it just is I guess. Because the Media says so, thats why

          1. POS…I would argue that many if not most would consider that (POS), a mild description of our Grinder Neudered Eunuch in the PMO.

To read that someone actually said it to him is simply PRICELESS….! I would love chance to do same.

  3. Rashida Tlaib, an Amalekite woman who squats in metro Detroit (the most Amalekite-infested city in the United States), was recently handed victory in the Democratic primary for a very safe metro Detroit congressional seat.

Rashida will, of course, use her congressional seat to further her tribe’s goal of annihilating the Jews in Israel and in the United States.

  4. Mr. Trudeau was giving a speech about the Guaranteed Income Supplement and how much more money certain senior citizens should be receiving, thanks to his government.
Woman asks Justin Trudeau a simple question – and he screams at her like a maniac
A woman in the crowd had more pressing preoccupations than a few hundred dollars however, as she asked: “When does Ottawa plan to reimburse the $146 million dollars that Québec spent on Canada’s illegal migrants?”
Upon this interruption, the representative of the constituency of Papineau lectured that in politics, we have to learn to listen. She wasn’t listening to him.
The uppity senior repeated her question. Then Justin Trudeau lost all control, screaming at the lady hysterically.

    https://www.thepostmillennial.com/woman-asks-justin-trudeau-a-simple-question-and-he-screams-at-her-like-a-maniac/

      1. Was Trudeau ever foaming at the mouth! He kept repeating himself over and over and over. What an awfully stupid scene.
He is not anyone’s Prime Minister. He is showing signs of cracking up, big time. Hope the opposition shows this video during their campaign. Someone give that lady a BARF bag. She didn’t deserve that non answer. She actually got him good because she got him mad! He is proving now that he actually hates this job.

Let’s pension him off at last and send him to Elba.

        1. The idiot is beginning to lose it… what on earth was he blathering on about? “Natives taught immigrants how to build a society”? What in the hell is he talking about? Hey, disagree with the clown prince and he”ll call you an “intolerant racist” or a bigot, just like daddy did. The woman is asking about illegal border crossers that the imbecile Groper invited to come and break our laws, not “immigrants”. He says we’re going to have more terrorist attacks that we must tolerate? Did I hear that right? I guess the dumb shit needs another vacay… and more acting classes.

          1. ▪@ 4:31 Sean M
Ya he says we’re going to have “more terrorist attacks”…
What the hell is that about? That is a cock and bull story until it happens. What is he trying to do, foment attacks?
            He is crazy.

        2. @3:18 am con’t: from comment from Canadian Observer@ 2:20 am

The comments after the video of our P,M. having his nervous breakdown, hussy-hissy fit and explosive temper disorder-tantrum are worth reading.

          Some favourites are:
          – A blogger named ‘Boring’ : ” it never ends well for dictators & traitors.”
          – Rediferous said: “He said intolerance @ least 9 times. I swear, if anything, he’s a classic liberal, goes into brainlock and can only ejaculate a handful of words at top volume.”
          – San Fernando said: ” this better make the M.S.M.”
          – gosamu said: ” it will lead. Right behind the groper scandal.

          P.S.
I somehow doubt it will lead in the M.S.M. Not looking good at all for the P.M. though.

( Apparently he has beefed up his security detail)

          1. Is this story being reported by the corporate media cartel? I scanned the main news pages of the CBC News and the Globe and Mail, and so far nothing. I suspect that the Liberal-crony media are censoring, again.

        3. Let’s pension him off at last and send him to Elba.

Elba? Didn’t Napoleon escape from that island and continue his shenanigans in Europe after that? St. Helena would be better.

But what disgusts me is that even after such displays of idiotic thuggery and pomposity, Clown Prince Dummkopf will be returned to office with a majority next year. And it will be done by any means necessary.

By the way, the manner in which that woman was handled by the officer reminds me of the Brian Lilley’s Youtube video of a similar encounter he had with Dr. Fruitfly and his henchmen.

          1. @11:12 B A
There is an island off Montreal in the St Lawrence River, called St Helen’s Island named after Champlain’s wife who wouldn’t settle in the New World. It is where Montrealers hosted Expo ’67. The P.M. Dummkopf was on the stump nearby. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t be a place to ‘banish’ our little Dictator because it has an amusement park called ‘La Ronde’. (Too much stimulation for an idiot) It’ll have to be St Helena, as you so rightly suggested.

I felt sorry for that woman who got the arrogant treatment by Trudeau and the physical treatment by his henchmen. Trudeau never answered her question. She said that she didn’t like how he was treating her as she was a Québécoise de souche and he lied and said that he too, was a Québécois. At least she stood her ground: “a man speaking up has balls but a woman speaking up is hysterical”….Methinks they were AFRAID of her!

He’ll be returned to office we fear. The Liberals are going have the immigrant vote all rigged in. Trudeau puts on the best drama but is trashing Canada. Let’s hope the opposite is the outcome. Who can stand these thuggish thieves more than one term. Perhaps lovely digs and job with the U.N.? He’d fit right in so well.

This was the best French de ‘Souche’ I’ve heard in a long time! Nevertheless, bravo to Madame Québécoise for her courage and persistence!

          2. Nancy:

The St. Helena I was referring to is a British ruled island in the middle of the South Atlantic, easily one of the most remote places on the planet. Supply ships stop there only a few times each year. That’s where the Little Corporal ended his days.

Back when it was broadcasting on shortwave, the BBC World Service built and operated a relay station there. Its location made it suitable for directing its signal to much of the western hemisphere.

          3. My mistake. It was Ascension Island where the BBCWS had its relay. (I should have remembered that as I used to be a monitor for the service.)

          4. ▪@ 1:54 & @ 2:01pm to B A Rupertslander

With all due respect, if I may…when I said:
“It’ll have to be St. Helena, as you so rightly suggested”, I did actually mean Napoleon Bonaparte’s second place of exile.

Uh huh, I stand corrected. Yes.

    1. Trudeau ranting against the lady’s intolerance whilst his heavy tries to remove her from the meeting.

There is hope for the next election if only Scheer wasn’t here. Mad Max is simply reflecting the views of Quebecers on this issue (and the majority of Canadians too I suspect). And no, it is not racism or intolerance; it is a refusal to be taken for suckers.

PS Why is there now no “remember your details” tick-box on the sign-in below.

      1. Justin’s Liberals welcome Taliban supporters, ISIS members, and MS13 gang members.
        Meanwhile Jagmeet supported plane bombers
and both encourage the prog’s black shirt storm troopers (the Antifa) on ordinary people.

      1. If such a performance happened at one of Harper’s events, the media would be all over it. Not so Trudeau. Treatment of the woman was shameful.

        1. Linda L… can you imagine? The Media would be shitting themselves with glee had this thuggery happened at a Harper rally, 24/7 hysteria… The Groper will always be protected by the corrupt corporate Media, he is their pet. Harper would’ve been crucified by the very same Media that protects the clown princess.

      2. Trudeau and his RCMP henchmen are filthy pigs. An old lady asks a question and the RCMP want to work her over. I thought they only beat the shit out of Indians. Diversity makes us stronger?

    2. So then I take it he doesn’t like being questioned about it?
If anyone living in a liberal riding has a moment they should send a letter to their MP requesting an update on that subject, and copy to your local media.

    3. Margaret Wente, in this article https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-whos-playing-identity-politics-everyone/ shows that she apparently can’t get out of her downtown Toronto ghetto long enough to go a few miles north to the ghetto that the most recent shooter came from.

She asks: “Where are these hordes of ghetto-dwellers who reject basic Western values?”

Can any of you answer this question for her?

I was on an overnight visit to the Martindale area of Calgary when I was walking my dog and turned the corner into a neighbourhood that could have been cut out of Niamey. My host sold the house the next year and decamped to a smaller city that is just now being ghettoized.

Margaret needs to walk her dog more.

    4. Should we really be surprised at the contempt he showed her? It’s a family tradition, after all. Remember PET’s Salmon Arm salute?

  5. Bongo is heavily medicated according to an awetawa buddy of mine – not unlike his mother.
Maybe the drugs arn’t working….or maybe he just doesn’t like working like you suggest?
Too bad he doesn’t pay as much attention to the country as he does to everything queer.

    1. ▪@ 4:34 abtrapper
Doesn’t he growl just like his old man when he speaks French?
It all came back to me when he rolled his tongue, he definitely needs a pick-me-upper, the way he stormed outta there. The woman just wanted to know if the Fed gov’t was going to reimburse the province for the illegals and Trudeau well, simply became intolerant of HER so called, intolerance! What? Well talk about turning the tables around.

So your Eastern buddy says he’s stoned on the job eh, it shows!
( “OH Justy, your slip is showing!”) Heh, heh!

  6. Justin just isn’t able to retain all the information fed to him by Butts so he has to wing it which turns out badly. He has to rely on a few special accusatory words and phrases to throw back at those who dare question him on any issue.
A Prime Minister doesn’t throw tantrums or hissy fits and stomp off, neither do they lecture. He should be turfed from Office, there’s plenty of evidence he is not up to the billing.

    1. There is a small child frustration about him when things don’t go his way. Like he ruled his childhood via temper-tantrum.

      1. @ 9:24 Steve
The temper tantrums must be a family tradition.
When the Trudeau family was in India apparently the youngest # 3 child was off to the side, lying on the ground, having a crying tantrum while the rest of the family was having a photo op. They just ignored him. The security detail was there to supervise the second (side) show. No worries, just move along, you Indians. They probably never seen anything like this… costumed people from away who bring kids to act up so. Wonder if Sophie later sang a song to entertain them too?

    2. Liz J… thats why the Media rarely if ever ask Gropey any follow up questions during his staged “press conferences”… The most difficult follow up question Gropey gets from his Media pals is to repeat his talking points in french… The Media know Gropey is none to bright and has little to no understanding of any of the topics he preaches… Gropey has a tendency to get all breathless, repetitive, wide eyed, flustered and angry when asked for further clarification on any particular subject so the Media play along, very reserved, compliant, docile, the Media are actually a big part of the Gropers act… a real Media would annihilate Gropey in seconds…. watching an El Groper “press conference” is like watching a Mother bird feeding her young, or a really bad high school play.

  7. Trudeau is an embarrassment beyond even Harper’s prediction. Not ready? He’s not sane; and his security detail have no right to grab people who make non-threatening statements. That’s assault and they’re cowards. Obviously PM POS is more like Turkey’s Erdogan.

    1. and his nutcase Father… Peeair was under psychiatric care his whole life, from the time his parents forced him into therapy at around the age of 7 years old (who knows why, but they knew something was terribly wrong with little Peeair) then through his political revolutionary years until the day he died of aids. The one consistent thing in Peeairs life was his utter dependency in psychiatric care. Canadians were never told of Peeairs mental instability and from what I can tell they probably wouldn’t have cared. Canadians prefer the myriad of myths that carefully surround crazy Peeair rather than face the reality that the man who destroyed Canada and replaced it with his own warped ideological neo Marxist State was a madman. Maggie looks positively stable when compared to crazy Peear.

      1. Your comment about PET reminds me of a bit in the climactic battle scene in the movie Gunga Din. The leader of the rebels explains to Cary Grant’s character, who commented that he was mad, that he was in good company:

“Mad? Mad. Hannibal was mad. Caesar was mad, and Napoleon surely was the maddest of them all. Ever since time began, they’ve called mad all the great generals in this world. Mad? We shall see what wisdom lies within my madness.”

So, you see, PET may have been nuts but, apparently, it was a good kind of nuts. By extrapolation, Clown Prince Valium must, therefore, be the same.

(Gunga Din is a terrific movie, by the way.)

  8. I found this link on a social media page of a 30-something guy (from Alberta) who is very pro-environment and anti-oil. The fact that he even posted it with his own comment “Interesting read” gives me hope that he’s seeing a different side. Of course that may only be wishful thinking on my part.

    https://achemistinlangley.net/2018/07/25/an-environmental-scientist-responds-to-the-signers-of-the-prime-ministers-youth-council-letter-to-the-pm-about-the-trans-mountain-pipeline-project/

  9. I have mentioned this before, but in the interests of global warming and doing my part to reduce my carbon footprint I have been going after my monthly charges such as telephone, Internet and cellphone – something Canadians rarely do – to counteract the effect of “creeping increases”. These companies seem to inch our monthly bills higher and certainly aren’t helping planet Earth. We need to fight back…

I started with Bell Canada. I have 2 land lines and a satellite TV service. When we first purchased the service a land line was about $30. A few months back when I looked at the details of my bill (first time in over 10 years) a land line was now costing over $70 (with HST). We rarely use it anymore because most of the calls are spam – universities wanting donations, conservative party wanting donations, or some idiot from India concerned about our windows, our dirty rugs or the fact that our warm and cold air registers haven’t been vacuumed and what that might be doing to our children. I really appreciate their concern…

My Bell bill was over $250.00. After a quick review I knew I could save $100 by cancelling one phone line and dropping the free movie channels (you know the ones with the crappy movies that are 10 years old). So I phoned…boy did they not want to change my bill…I need to put you on hold to check your account…I need to put you on hold to change your account…are you sure you want to cancel because we have a special on right now. I patiently waited through all that and cancelled. Two hours later a call from Bell on a special promotion. I stood my ground and 2 months later my bill is actually $100 lower. Onto Rogers…

Rogers is a tough company to deal with. I have had a cell phone plan with them for over 18 years. Every time my 3 year contract is up, the new plan costs more money. I never really paid much attention until last year when my phone broke. When I tried to pickup a new phone at Rogers I was told my plan was out-of-date (hint: I wasn’t paying enough). In order to get a new phone I had to commit to a new 3 year plan ($95/mn) but I would get a free phone.

A month later I looked at my bill and the plan wasn’t exactly $95/mn. There was an extra charge of $4.95/mn as a value pack to make the new plan similar to the old plan. Plus HST for a total of $115/mn. I wasn’t so fussed up about it and let it go.

A year later I notice my plan is offered on the Internet for $45.00/mn, less than half of what I was paying. I clicked on the link to log into my account and the plan disappeared. The cheapest plan was now $95/mn – the same plan I had. So I called Rogers and told them I want the $45/mn plan. Turns out such plans are only available to new customers.

“You treat new customers better than existing customers?” I asked. No sir, they replied. I had a free phone on my plan so the rate is higher.

“So the free phone wasn’t free?” I asked. Yes it is sir, they replied, unless you try and break your 3 year contract.

“How much will it cost to break my 3 year contract?” I asked. At least $100-$150 they answered.

“Then break my contract” I demanded. “And roll me into a new one costing $45/mn using my existing phone”.

It took awhile but they eventually agreed.

I just got my first Rogers bill with the new contract. $45.00/mn plan, plus an iPhone value pack of $8.99 for a total of $53.99/mn plus HST. Also, the cost to break my old contract is $288 and not $100-$150 as they said. My total bill was a tad over $392.00.

That’s alright Rogers. I’m saving almost $50/mn. It will take 6 months before I break even but then I’ll be saving money and helping the world beat global warming. That is if my bill doesn’t increase again.

When you get a phone plan, think about buying your phone directly because they aren’t “free”.

Now to figure out why Superior Propane is charging $1/ltr for propane in the middle of the summer.

This is not rant – it is a reader tip.

  10. We can only sit back and watch as the gong show runs it’s course to election day 2019 when we will have the chance to hit the gong and save the country or let him and his incompetent, agenda driven cabal finish it off.

    1. let him and his incompetent, agenda driven cabal finish it off

I fear that’s what they’ll do, regardless of the outcome of the election next year. If he wins, which I believe he will, it’s “Auf Wiedersehen, Kanada”.

If, by Scheer luck, the Conservatives win, watch for a coup attempt much like what’s happening in the U. S. right now. Antifa will be out in force bashing heads and smashing everything in sight. Scheer will be accused of having colluded with Russia, China, Coleslawvania, whoever, and there’ll be a Royal Commission formed to investigate the matter to death. the objective being to force him out of office by any means necessary.

      1. Yes and it’ll be the worst eff ever !
        We are FUBAR already.
Go to U.S. (stock) on savings. T.S.X. trends will blow.

      2. No coup in Canada. A PM with a majority is virtually a dictator. The US president without a compliant Congress is almost powerless.

The media is a big problem. If Scheer is elected CBC must go and unless CTV adopts political neutrality, ever Bell request to the CRTC should be rejected on grounds of near monopoly.

    1. B A @ 3:28 pm
You better not let Ken Kulak see this. He’ll scold you too…

      ….ah haaa, haaa, haaa, !!

Note to self: ” bookem Dano “

    1. Other nicknames for him might be Prince Valium, Prince Valuenaught, or Prince Valueless. (Older SDA readers will likely remember the original reference, which was made into a movie some 60 years ago, featuring a miscast Robert Wagner in the title role.)

      1. @6:02 pm B A
Name suggestion for the Clown Prince from Wikipedia, your submission at 6:02 pm.
Prince Foof … as in O2 F2 “dioxygen difluoride, an extremely unstable compound which reacts explosively with most other substances. The nickname ‘Foof’ is a play on its formula.”
Inspired by the P.M’s foolishness of late in St Jean-sur-Richelieu with Madam Québécoise.

        P.S.
That Robert Wagner film was Prince Valiant- I’ve never viewed yet.

  11. The woman in the video was assaulted for asking questions on camera by the police. And where is CBC and CTV? The outrage? Nowhere. No , not fake news . What will happen to the cops ? Nothing.
