CFL Picks Week 6

Apologies for missing last week, I went 2/3…which is better than normal so caveat emptor.

Thursday, 17:30 CST – Riders at TiCats. Riders haven’t played well and apparently aren’t practicing well either. Hamilton on the other hand is a team on the rise with a QB trying to set the record for consecutive games with 300yds passing. Pick TiCats by 10…and yes the record will be broken.

Friday, 17:30 CST – BC at Ottawa. Travis Lulay single-handily changed the Lions season last week, on the other side of the field, I’ve never been sold on Harris and his receivers are dropping balls left, right, short and deep. Pick BC by 5.

Saturday, 14:00 CST – Winnipeg at Toronto. Matt Nichols looks pretty good, but so does James Franklin. The difference is Andrew Harris. Blue Bombers by 7.

Saturday, 19:00 CST – Montreal at Calgary. Will Bo Levi Mitchell start? I’m not sure that it matters. Until they lose 2 in a row or it’s late October/November just pick Calgary by 15, it’s easier that way.

  1. Hm,I’ve missed most of the CFL posts this season, but have to agree with your picks, though Calgary by 15 is a bit much,I’d guess Calgary by 14.

  2. Western Riders over the Ticats… Ottawa Rough Riders over the Lions… Bombers over the Torontos… and the Montreals over the Stamps, yeah I know but I’m not betting money, and I hate the arrogant Stamps.

  3. Talk in Cowtown is that the Stampeders may be bringing two horses to run the lengths of the field in case the first one can’t continue with the ceremonial runs after every Stampeder touchdown.

    1. You mean they even test the horsies for PEDs? Wow! A clean backup is always a good plan.

      1. When the Stamps are on a roll, the horse gets one heck of a lot of exercise going full gallop up and down the sidelines every time there’s a touchdown. On the other hand, when it’s a slow night, the horse heads to the practice field at half time to shake the fidgets out.

  4. Hm, first pick, dead wrong. I’m not gonna bother buying a lottery tax ticket today. Saskabush did the job, congrats to them.

  5. Hm, that’s 0 for 2 so far. The team formerly known as the Ruff Riders did the job.

While I’m on a streak, I might as well predict a Clinton/Warren win in 2020.

  6. You got the last two right. Bo Levi Mitchell was able to play, and a solid win for the Stamps. Horse didn’t have to work too hard, though.
