As No One Watched, Trump Pardoned 5 Megabanks For Corruption Charges
Not surprisingly, the latest decision to pardon the banks comes in stark contrast to one of Trump’s most applauded campaign promises – that he would finally stand up against Wall Street and demand that the most powerful banks be held accountable to the public.
“I’m not going to let Wall Street get away with murder. Wall Street has caused tremendous problems for us. We’re going to tax Wall Street,” Trump said during a campaign rally in January 2016.

  3. Hmmm. …
Deutsche Bank pled guilty to wire fraud in a U.S. court in 2015, and it went on to pay $3.5 billion for its role in the LIBOR scandal—more than any other bank involved—before it reached a $7.2 billion settlement with the Justice Department in early 2017.
Uhhhhh … LOTS of missing information in this passage … but it appears to me that the Trump Administration successfully NEGOTIATED a MUCH LARGER $$ monetary FINE … More than DOUBLE what Obama’s suspect DOJ was able to extract. So what’s the problem?
You’re implying that because Trump has taken out $130 million in loans completely backed by tangible Real Estate assets … that he is paying back … like any other LOAN … that he made some sort of quid-pro-quo “deal” to FINE Deutsche Bank $3.7 BILLION MORE than the Obama Admin ? Are you HIGH? or just suffering terminal TDS ?

  4. Auf Wiedersehen Germany, it’s been nice knowing you. Thanks for nothing, Frau Doktor Merkel.

  5. Makes this go away…
    http://thefreethoughtproject.com/federal-court-private-lawsuit-bring-16-worlds-largest-criminal-banks-knees/
The revived antitrust lawsuit, according to the appeals court, could be devastating to these 16 banks, including Deutsche Bank AG, Royal Bank of Canada, Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, UBS AG, HSBC Holdings Plc, Barclays Plc, Credit Suisse Group AG, Bank of America Corp, Citigroup Inc., and JPMorgan Chase & Co.
“Requiring the banks to pay treble damages to every plaintiff who ended up on the wrong side of an independent Libor‐denominated derivative swap would, if appellants’ allegations were proved at trial, not only bankrupt 16 of the world’s most important financial institutions, but also vastly extend the potential scope of antitrust liability in myriad markets where derivative instruments have proliferated,” the U.S. Court of Appeals in New York said in the ruling.
As the Free Thought Project has previously reported, these megabanks have been caught over and over rigging the market, and none of them are ever held criminally liable. They simply pay a fine, aka bribe, to the United States government, and continue business as usual.

  6. What a story with everything you could want.
Small town car dealer uses all his savings to make a 40000.00 gamble on a colt, helps train it himself, at an obscure stable nobody has heard of, and the horse becomes an incomparable standard bred champion and then the horse dies young.

  8. I submit that this article is another piece of red meat (to coin a phrase). Another President Trump hit piece……
A waiver is not exactly a pardon. It is a very conditional agreement with the banks which requires them to do certain things. Big fines have already been collected. Also, these banks had already received a one year “waiver” under former President Obama.
Realistically, there is a very big reason to not destroy these banks…..doing so would cause total chaos in the monetary system of the world. Yeah, it’s crappy that things got to be this way but there you are.
Sometimes things are done for a reason other than “Trump is a scoundel.”

  9. Actually, the $7.2 billion dollar settlement was entered intro three days BEFORE Trump’s inauguration and related to an entirely different episode of misconduct by the bank, namely misleading investors with respect to the sale of residential mortgage-backed securities prior to the 2008 financial crisis.
I’d suggest that you more fully investigate the facts before suggesting that people are high.

The public device, which was installed in Oymyakon as a tourist attraction, recorded -62C, before malfunctioning this week.
Meanwhile the Siberian Times reports that some locals had readings as low as -67C – in touching distance of the record -67.7C, which was logged in the village in February 1933.
That temperature was the lowest ever recorded outside the Antarctic and cemented the village, in the Yakutia region, the coldest permanently-inhabited place on earth.”

  18. The description of the rant in the kitchen reminds me of this line from the movie Casablanca (spoken by Victor Laszlo, played by Paul Henreid, to Rick Blaine, played by Humphrey Bogart):
“You know how you sound, Mr. Blaine? Like a man who’s trying to convince himself of something he doesn’t believe in his heart.”
