    Sorry, that should be spelled ”Nights” and not ”Knights.” In our politically correct world, a Knight in a white satin sheet can lad a guy in trouble! If you know what I mean.
    That song, that is indeed a great song, only made it to 103rd place on the USA Hit Parade. (Billboard Magazine.)
    Frank and Nancy Sinatra made it to 7th with this one. (Billboard.) And it’s still a hit song today!

    Its a concept album with the songs dedicated to the course of a day.
    Starting with The Day Begins, Dawn is a Feeling, Another Morning, Peak Hour, Tuesday Afternoon, The Sunset, Twilight Time, and ending with Nights in White Satin.

  18. Nights in White Satin did MUCH better than #103 on the Billboard Charts but it took a second release to do it. Second time around, in 1972, the song rocketed up the charts all the way to #2 on the Top 100. In Canada it made it to #1. Every dance in high school for 4 years ended with the last song being either ‘Stairway to Heaven’ or ‘Nights in White Satin’. That the Moody Blues aren’t in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a travesty. However, the RRHofF’s credibility lies somewhere between the MSM’s and Bill Morneau’s so it’s not like they need the recognition of the RRHofF to validate their place in music history.

    But why be limited to only European characters? I’m sure that there are (or will be) genders which fall into categories that can only be classified in terms of Norse runes or Babylonian cuneiform.
